Many people do not know about virtual currency and do not believe in it!

"My country has 99% of people do not believe in virtual currency." Maybe they do not know about them, or they are afraid of being scammed, they may also be confused about the virtual currency, even some people have not heard about it. "How can they trust the virtual currency?"

But I feel so lucky than many people, because I accidentally know and participate in the BTT forum on June 5. For a period of nearly four months, that time was not long, but anyway I learned a lot of useful information about virtual currency and "I believe the virtual currency will be the future currency. "
What about your beautiful country?

(my english is not good, hope you understand! thank you for reading my article)

You see, crypto currency is not that old innovation. It should also be noted that for the government it carries certain risks, and the opinions of MOST of society are formed on government news sources.
In the countries in which I lived absolutely different perceptions of the crypto currency: positive, negative, neutral
It should be noted that with the development of the crypto-currency market, more and more scammers appear, which has a huge influence on the formation of the public's opinion on this issue
We will wait for something to happen that completely changes the perception of people about crypto
This happens in our world with regular intervals and  with different phenomena)

Governments are adept at persuading others, they have already succeeded in breaking up gold and paper money "now no one mentions gold" and will succeed in changing the negative image of digital currencies if they want.

I do not expect to organize all the cryptocurrencies soon so do not expect people to accept them, especially as it is a new technology and has a bad reputation.
In the future things will change.

This thread is more for Bitcoin Discussion section. I don't see any benefits for the H&S section.

Back to the OP.
Introducing new, complex and complicated to explain technology is not an easy task. More and more people are getting into and understand the basis and the principle of the technology behind it every day, but it's a slow process. Those not so techie ones will see it as a fraud or a way to make a quick money from something so volatile as bitcoin.
More and more universities offer now blockchain courses and after a couple of years those students will spread the technology into the businesses around the globe more and more. It just needs time.
The chain reaction happen already with the high price and later with the burst of bitcoin "bubble" but the word was spoken and the world now has heard of The Bitcoin.
Really, there is no such thing as bad PR.  The more people talk about, it the better.

In my country, some people use cryptocurrencies for fraud. They use fake money to deceive some old people and investors. This behavior is causing the market to lose more development!

The believe comes when these people find better solutions for old outdated technologies or when they are forced to use other alternative technologies, when all other methods are being blocked. Take for example the blocking of payments to Wikileaks and also BackPage by credit card companies.

Once they see this, they start to believe.  Grin

Hello! A very interesting question to be discussed. What can I say: I am also hoping about just one currency we will have in the future - crypto. Only 5% of Canadian people know about cryptocurrency and blockchain. But what about the other part? what about the 95% that sees no future in virtual currency? People want to hold money in their hands or on their mank accounts. It will be difficult for them to become common with cryptocurrency. No real feeling about money. No trust. Sad, but true.

Rather than do not believe it, it should be most people have no idea how virtual currency works. The concept of intangible money is a concept unknown to the most of them since they at the moment have no experience using such currencies.

In my country, I read some news about the scammer I forget about the name of the group and they used virtual currency to scam people by demanding some money to invest in them, And maybe that's why many people here don't believe in cryptocurrency.

Which country do you mean? It would be good you write the country.

Well, I think most people don't believe in Cryptocurrency because of lack of insight into crypto like blockchain technology, trading, ecosystem, etc, even most people know bitcoin rather than cryptocurrency and altcoin. And even they only know about Bitcoin for online payment. IMO

How about in my country?

Yeah, in my country Indonesia, passion about cryptocurrency has growing rapidly on this year. Really, I'm so happy about this and hoping government will set regulation as soon as possible.

Hello ! I am from Vietnam! Actually I'm a bit sad because of backwardness. Even so, I have introduced to many of my friends about electronic money and its benefits. But they all refuse or do not believe and some people can not imagine what electronic money is. Others are worse than they have never heard of electronic money.  Sad

I think this just has a lot to do with people being set in their ways. I mean, they've been using cash and banking for their entire lifetime, which generally work well enough for people not too look towards riskier alternatives. There's this mentality that revolves around not fixing what isn't broken, right? The traditional financial system isn't broken as far as most people are concerned.

All I think we can really do to earn their trust is to keep using crypto to at least provide proof of concept to them that it can work. No preachy bullshit that fiat is a scam, etc., because that's more likely to alienate them -- you don't attack deep-rooted beliefs like that. Or that's what I believe, at least.

I'd like to clarify that I'm talking about cryptocurrencies, not virtual currencies (though it is a kind of virtual currency), and that they can be very different. You should be more specific and say cryptocurrencies instead from now on. But yeah, welcome to the community!

As stated by you 99% whether it is correct or not I can not say but You should feel proud of becoming early member or crypto user family.  You will definitely be gaining because of your more knowledge and experience about crypto world; as compared to those who are still not aware of bitcoin or crypto world. you can check the record of people who entered in btc few years back.  they have gained in all respects.  They bought cheap bitcoins; are now holding senior posts like hero or legendary and having much much more knowledge than us.

So cheers to you friend.  best wishes.

"My country has 99% of people do not believe in virtual currency."

I know in the US they conducted a large survey about the popularity and use of cryptocurrency and 6 in 10 Americans that responded have heard about bitcoin but only 5 percent actually own it. So i guess it's possible that only 1 percent of the people in your country actually believe in or currently own crypto.

"How can they trust the virtual currency?"

At the moment i can understand why for many crypto is hard to trust especially after all the recent scams and exchange hacks. But I think as cryptocurrency matures it will become more widely adopted and more people will come to trust it.

CoinMetro - the future of exchanges
it's a scary concept for new people; how can there not be someone in charge? (a bank for example).
but slowly it's becoming more and more clear that we benefit greatly from not having the middleman.
people surely know of bitcoin - atleast most people below like, 50?
but the concept is scary, even for many technical people I've spoken with.

All fiat currency held in bank deposits is virtual. People need to understand that, and then maybe they can open their minds to crypto-currencies,

"My country has 99% of people do not believe in virtual currency."
Where did you get that number?

Anyway, that's pretty much normal and not surprising. People mostly are scared of or don't like things that they don't understand; and with whatever new technology we have, there will definitely always be skeptics.
