A lot of projects rushed to take advantage of the ICO bubble  in 2017 to raise money, unfortunately, the biggest part of investors were joining for speculation purposes to manipulate the price of a new token. Now, many projects are disappearing or running out of money dut to the market situation, here we can differenate between the projects that have long term vision and the fake projects that have no goals. Personally, I prefer to stay with the top marketcap coins, Ethereum, Lisk, ICON and many others.

Projects are now dead due to the unability to maintain the price, lack of planning and lack of strategies. Scam projects are now being detected and is still increasing in numbers making investors to doubt the credibility of most of the projects.

I will keep the coins, because it happens that the ICO resumes its forces and begins its work, and then the prices will grow very well.

ICO-funded startups currently use multi-level marketing tactics to build their business. Instead they should take a page from the the Kickstarter. However, we should read and learn carefully from reveiwer and recomendation what best ICO to invest with strong developers and real project,. That is natural why many scam projects. The token not scam but the project scam, That is the worst in cryptocurrency, more days fake projects will be abandoned.

The state of the market today is not very good, and perhaps they do not have enough money to launch the ICO project. I still trust projects, but with restrictions. Wait and see, but never lose faith in cryptocurrency

It depends on the projects you choose. You can't make the only decision for all projects. If the projects have potentials, yeah I will hold them until they succeed, but there are very few projects right now. So my safety choice is investing in short-term. Whatever happens, our ultimate goal is profit.

Currently on the coinmarketcap site only about 1590 projects compared to at times more than 1700 projects. They have left many projects without developers or scam projects.

That's true. And that's  what usually happens in the world of business, not only in crypto. Startups fail, I don't have an actual statistics, but it seems that only 1-2% of startups become really successful.

I personally invested in some of these projects and lost a lot of money like bitconect and centra.

I see a lot of people here criticize your choices, but it's obvious that these projects are scam now, so it's easy to blame you for making wrong decisions. But these projects seemed legit at the ICO stage, so no wonder you trusted them.

Do you trust the projects you are investing in and will keep them for a long time until they succeed or are they just looking for profit in the short term?

Both! But you need to decide whether some particular project worth holding for years or you'll sell it after the first pump, and this decision should be made BEFORE you get tokens to your wallet. Then you won't hesitate and change your strategy every day.

a lot of project are really dead or with a broken roadmap/team split etc... so I think that's the reason for this difference in numbers..

The current condition shows that there are many ICO scams, this may be the result of the difficulty of market growth. I would not be surprised by more and more projects dead. Maybe this is a bad sign in cryptocurrencies.

Yeah I will and as long as team is dedicating to the project and vision is to make their whitepaper true then I will keep holding until the end .

Some of the ico project are obvious, like any lending project. Be careful to make a decision, some of the ico has a fake audience in order to attract more investors and can make an exit scam. Be sure to verify more about the project.
Agreed. The project should always be checked for all known parameters. The more you check the project, the less likely it is to be cheated.

What exactly constitutes a dead project? No dev activity?

the crypto market is unstable since bitcoin reaches its highest peak and its many scam projects, from my own judgment indeed the project is now looking for a lot of short profits but when they have a chance to do longer, it is a dirty way and i hate it. there are still many good projects but not even successful, I appreciate those projects that are stable and really serious for the long term
I think that some of them havent even been born. Their so say parents, do not them to be alive. I say about all scam products.

It all depends directly on the project. If the project is really promising and it is not a Scam, then I will invest in it in the long term.

Associated with crypto every project can change whether to improve or decrease in crypto. But there are still good crypto projects and future prosecutions that can be trusted.

We are seeing the first signs of the maturation of the ICO market.  Despite the fact that every success or failure requires a separate careful analysis, it is already clear that the market is doing exactly what it should: it takes effective decisions.  This does not mean that all successful tokens distribution will eventually become successful projects and vice versa. What can be done?  Invest only what you are willing to afford to lose, and expect that any token in which you invest may fail.  Do your own research.  Expect an understatement.  In the coming years, tens of thousands of ICO will be conducted and the world will move to blockhouses, it remains only not to be disappointed with them.

in a more advanced crypto world, more competition and I think only the most powerful projects can survive. the rest depends on us how to see the project is good or not. before investing you need to understand the project. and I really trust the project where I invest money and I hope in the future to benefit from the project that I follow to keep it longer. And be absolutely sure about what we always do
