Thanks for the messages of support guys.

No, it is not a fucking scam. Just look at all the years we've been posting here.

But we are dealing with record numbers of new customers and we are a very small team. So sometimes it takes a few hours to get back to you guys. Don't panic, we'll get back to you. The best way to get to us is to mail us here:

[email protected]

It's after midnight in Germany and I am heading to bed now. Will be back at it in the morning.

Best wishes,

New " funny" thing.
Altcoin history on bittrex dissapeared (simultanously on two different PC's/accounts) and spread become based on last candle!
Then instabuyed/sold coin at "current" price for all stretegies.
Yay, thats bad!

Yesterday I made a full payment of $89 to purchase, I got the download link, but I am not able to login, it says your secret key is not registered.  I tried to contact them many times through mails, but they never bothered to reply.  Is it a scam.

It is NOT a scam, if you purchased through the official website (http://www.marginsoftware.de/product.html). If you did buy it from the official website, it may be the case your secret key had a typo when you filled the form. I'm sure that if that's the case, they will assist you and fix your key.

nope not a scam..  you didn't buy from marginsoftware.net did you?

It is not a scam.  It was just a mistake on my part.  Jonathan was very helpful in sorting out the issue.  Thanks for your help.

can u suggest me a currency that u think is good right now for the margin bot ,and also the optimal settings if u don't mind.
thanks

I can't tell you a currency name, but can give some suggestions.

1. The way margin maker works, it is best to go after stable currencies i.e the one which are generally not prone to 'pumps and dumps'

2. The currency you are trading in , should have high trading volume

3. The currency should ideally see a lot of swings (inside a range) within a day.
For eg, if a currency keeps fluctuating between 0.020 btc and 0.026 btc, then it will keep you chance to execute multiple trades within a day.

4. If the trade is in a clear downward trend, I would steer clear of the margin maker and trade manually instead.

5. Keeping in mind the above 4 points, I find that on a given day there are many such pairs to be found within the top 15-20 currencies.
You can go to https://coinmarketcap.com/all/views/all/ to get an idea.

6. Periodically keep reviewing the market, especially the currency which you are trading on. The margin maker is an excellent tool, but periodic manual supervision makes it work even better.

7. I prefer small effective gains over big ones. I keep my minimum effect gain less than 2%. The reason is I feel that a coin has more chances to gain 1% (and subsequently drop  a few percents) than gaining say 10%.
So lets say, you have kept the min eff gain as 8% and the currency keeps fluctuating between 3-4% gains (and drops), then it will be a long time before you would get a sell chance. And you would have missed multiple small trades of 1-2%, which in total MIGHT have made you more than the desired 8%.

Of course, all this is just personal opinion and not a hard and fast rule.

This is a great post - clear and to the point.

I have a quick question about the length of time used for the history of the Margin Maker.  I have been setting it to 12-24 hours.  depending on the volatility. Anyone have any rules of thumb when setting this?

TIA

Thank you so much for the reply and explanations. I really appreciate it.

So based on your input, the stop loss option is this one right? (in the screenshot below)

So for the order placement, if I decrease the interval window -> result in more frequent order replacements?

Yes, stop-loss will "close" your positions when price suddenly falls (aka dump situation).

And yes, lower order max age means more frequent order checks and replacements.

Thank you so much again, you're the best!  Smiley

I just ordered this for polo about 2 hours ago and I have still not received my download email.  How long does this normally take?

It depend, they have to recompile the app with yours secret key to have acces. (mine take 6 hours) and for adding bittrex (take 2 hours), first I maybe bought when they was sleeping (im in canada so not the same time zone).

The service is really quick, so just lets them wake up haha.

Thanks for helping out with the explanation Smiley We are awake and all versions have been built!

Have a nice day everyone.

Hi,

I think the data collection service for Bittrex needs to be restarted - this new coin, ADA, doesn't have any past history in leonArdo.

Thanks for all the good work!

The new pairs should be available asap. Data collection was restarted.

All the best,

Hi there,

I need some help, why didn't leonardo sell in this case as shown in the image?

https://i.imgur.com/PQo2SRR.png

Thanks

If it's mArgin maker, case is simple, algorithm takes highest and lowest price in selected period of time, for example 3 hours default, and this price difference will be 100% trading windows for bot. You've set 20% margin for sell and buy, so buy price will be 50 - 20 = 30% lower than trading window centre (one half, 50%), sell price will be 30% higher than centre. While KMD has been trading ~ flat, bot worked like a charm, but when huge pump/dump happens, bot physically won't be able to adapt price in time, in your case only stop-loss could help.

Look on the top of the window, orange sticks show you bot activity, vertically spaced sticks show no order action, filled sticks show order replacement. As you can see, order replacement happened only in the end of dump.

P.S: be very careful trading alts before another coming BTC fork, people will dump altcoins converting them to BTC hoping to gain same amount in another "this is only legitimate bitcoinsuperdupercash"  Grin Grin Grin  and then dump that for fast profits.

Thank you so much for the reply and explanations. I really appreciate it.

Just stumbled upon this tool and I'm trying out the demo. I have three questions regarding the product and demo:

  • Is there a way to historically track the individual performance of each of the trading strategies deployed? Or should I import, clean and construct this based upon the log? (or deploy 1 strategy at the time and see the result which of course has the downside of a different condition
  • Can I get more information/documentation about the working principles of the market maker? It feels like a black box. (possibly after buying the product?). My understanding is as follows (please confirm): the marketmaker calculates the buy price based on the prices historically in the interval window selected (i.e. 4 hours). The order will be placed and after the Max order age is passed the market maker recalculates based on the new interval (moved 6 mins with default settings) and if the min. effective gain is not below the setting it will replace the order based on the new calculations. My prime question on this is: How is the buy order value calculated? Is this a formula like: minmum price + (maximum close price within interval - minimum close price within interval)* buy margin selected   ? could you shed some light?
  • Will there in the future be a feature to implement/test you own trading algo's?

Thanks.

can you try to specify how you would define 'trend' in terms of price/volume movement?
Imagine a growing price

If we trade with default margins, say 20/20, we will hardly buy anything.
If this is downtrend (price constantly getting lower and lower), we will hardly sell anything.
But will be able to buy, and then sell for a less!  Cheesy
Now, if history shows that this is uptrend, we could do better:

This way we can catch a piece of pie, sometimes.
For negative situations, when price goes down, we could shrink "buy margin",
to buy for the less, atleast, or even make profit on correction step.

Yes, there is things to think about "how do we define trend",
but for now it could be even price(average/vwap) difference inside statistics interval.

By the way, would love to see order corrections based on market orders and walls.
:3

edit:
Figured out why sometimes fields wont show up:
On windows, i use second screen for Leo, and first screen is 10inch, there is UI scaling difference.
Window opens up at first screen, and after swapping goes full screen(sticky windows and stuff).
When its not fullscreen, fields are here.
Might be the key for last ubuntu problem.

Hi there!
I have an idea for short-tern trades(not only short).
To get better profit on pumps and dumps i suggest to move red zone relative to current trend.

I mean, when we climbing a peak, its way harder to buy.
When we falling from a peak, its way harder to sell.
If we could correct both buy and sell margins, basing on moving average, thats partly solves problems with lack of scripting.
Ofcourse depending on realisation.
I hope you get what i meant. Is there a messenger with Dev? :/

I think I get the general idea, but can you try to specify how you would define 'trend' in terms of price/volume movement?
Also we are working on getting you guys more strategies in the future, it just takes a couple of weeks.
