Lot to crash yet before we see the bottom, will take a long time before mining becomes a thing again if ever does, 2025 might get a little bit better.

The 2023 despite being in red it has showed signs of slow recovery, not in mining but in Bitcoin price and if it recovers further I can say that for 150 Mhsh of mining ETHW+ZIL you break even or with small profit monthly if your energy price is 0.05 dollars or less,so things I think are improving quite a bit but of course a price of 30.000 for Bitcoin could see enough increase for all other cyptos that will permit us all to mine at a small profit maybe.

I know though that prices of GPU will start again to skyrocket, but not as much as 2021,that is history now and won't repeat itself for GPU prices no matter what.

In my country, the video card can be returned within 15 days after purchase, but the video card must not be used. Some stores have extended return programs, but after the end of Ethereum mining, video cards were excluded from these programs Smiley

They have a huge market share and some buyers don't really care about the ripoff I guess. But they definitely took it a bit too far this time because almost all reviewers and your average joe refuse to recommend their GPU due to the insane pricing. Hopefully, AMD can be better next time, even though I feel like it might take a few years or that's too much copium too.

Exactly, only 2 contenders (discounting recently-debuted Intel) over the decades. Plus the COVID situation that saw people buying even at sky-high prices. A lengthy two years.

Give them a few more years. Just like their CPU, Ryzen was finally a breakthrough. Nothing can reign the king forever with tech moving so fast these days.

Someone even posted some Craigslist ad on Nvidia Reddit or some gamer forum and basically was “Selling Nvidia GPUs at MSRP” and everybody there said they wouldn’t buy because if there is stock, why buy from a scalper and worry about getting a defective unit and then having to deal with warranty issues
Without being the original owner or having the original receipt. And I agree with them.

I thought buying from scalpers or the owner warrants a receipt of purchase as well? It wouldn't make sense if there isn't

Yes they were all Nvidia 4xxx pretty much. Most were unopened.
This store has a deal where you can buy an open box for a slight discount,
So they are losing out if someone returns a bunch of these GPUs and they were opened.

I had a brand new r9 280x sapphire GPU during Litecoin mining days and it went up in flames and I couldn’t RMA because they required original receipt and I had to be original owner.

4080 and 70 Tis, maybe. Don't get why NVIDIA could charge an arm and a leg and think they could get away with it.

Really surprised that they didn't just decline returns if someone is returning like 10x GPUs, which is clearly not for personal use but for scalping. Very surprised that people are still trying to scalp GPUs these days when ETH POS was months ago.
I might be wrong but I recall seeing some posts/news about some stores refusing to accept returns/refund for GPUs. Can't find it anymore though. It is not really impossible if a store implements them though, especially if the buyer is suspicious.

Went to my local computer store for some parts. And right in front of the store they had a huge collection of returns and almost all of them were GPUs. Many were still sealed. They have a decent return policy and I am figuring out that these are mostly scalper returns.

Interesting. In my country, it's max 14 days to return, and that's only if you buy online.

Do you have any backstory to this in terms of the timeframes that they were returned?

Too much greed or even just FOMO, isn't it?

The same always happens to most noobs when trading. I guess karma is trying to pinch back on the greedy scalpers that made life top hard for us  Grin

This store have to sell the return products with discount?
Should we say Black Friday prices will come in earlier than usual? Hahaha!

In my country is not easy to return some products, but I know in US for example is pretty simple and most places you don't even have to explain the reason you are returning.
Were you able to see the models of GPUs? Most new gen cards like 4XXX series?

I'm surprised too because I didn't see any demand for GPUs right now, gamers are buying used cards from miners, and mid level GPUs, it's not easy to see people buying cards like 4080 like 3080 some months ago  Cheesy
