I am clueless to what I did wrong and how to improve, if it was in fact a legitimate reason why it was deleted. I read every thread from top to bottom and post something new and constructive, when I do decide to reply.

How can we improve, if we do not receive any explanation on what we did wrong?

Dont post in self mod threads. There is nothing you have to do wrong in order for your posts there to get deleted. The person starting the thread can just delete them because the day is sunny (or rainy) or their coffee was unusual cold.

Yup BUT !
Mod's do and have deleted my comments on self moderated topics before.
Don't assume it's the topic starter.

Don't assume it's the topic starter.

Also there is a variety of mod's that can jump around deleting topics in other forums.
mprep in the Altcoin section for example is listed as the moderator.
but he is not the only one who mod's it.
other guys can and do show up and delete comments etc.
but people will blame all of it on him 100%

i have a comment i seen deleted by "grue" i seen in my inbox from like a year ago i deleted the other day.
and i have also seen mprep admit that some mod activity in his section was not him.

Point being is things are not cut and dry.. never assume 100% what mod's are doing.
we just don't know LOL

and for giggles look at seclog.php
to see all the guys resetting their passwords lol

So you saying, someone or a group of people created self moderated threads all over the place and then decided to delete 22 posts in one shot? Why would they want to do that? I do not disagree with your statement shorena, but I do find it strange that it would be such a big coincidence.

If you check the deleted post message and it says a person who created a self modded thread has deleted your post, then yes, that's literally what happened. People who create self-modded threads can do what they want and at anytime. I've personally had posts deleted in them for no reason and also from threads I posted in ages ago and that's why I rarely post in them. Really no point when as you have found out they can be deleted for no reason on a whim. If, however, it was deleted by a mod it will say but there is usually a good reason for it. Also as I mentioned above a reply could be constructive, on topic and well thought out but if it's in a thread necrobumped and that post gets deleted yours will as well.

Even more, this is not the first thread about the issue and it seems that chmod755 did it.

Why would they want to do that?

I will be looking at that closely from now on, because I cannot waste my time and energy, I could have spend with my family on creating constructive posting and it getting deleted for no apparent reason.

I only post a couple of times during the week and I skip weekends, so I am no way spamming or doing something wrong.  Huh

Something is definitely fishy here. I just checked and someone deleted 22 of my posts in one day. I have read through all of them, and I cannot see why it was deleted. I always post on topic and all of them, have the same reason < Self moderated topic..... > This is definitely not the case with all of them.

Example :

They could not have chosen a better partner, Naspers is huge in South Africa and on the forefront of technology. They have interest in cellphones and subscription/pay television and news papers and loads more.

I've never heard about them. Do you live in South Africa?

I am a international citizen, but I spend a lot of my time in Africa too. The company I work for sends us all over the world, and we work for 4 to 6 months in a country and then we move location to the next. I am currently working in Africa, but our Head Office is in the UK.

My company did some work for the NASPERS group and we used a internet service provider called Mweb for our internet access. They have shares in some of the biggest roleplayers in Africa and are very well placed as a stepping stone for eCommerce / Print media / Television / internet within the African continent.

This is a huge partnership for BitX and will open up a lot of Bitcoin business opportunities with huge potential.

Watch this space, Bitcoin is going to grow a lot faster and bigger in Africa with this partnership. I see their shares price is good too, so I might invest a bit after this news.  Grin

I have had more then usual but it makes sense.  On one it was a moderator I reported someone bumping a old thread for sig spam.  I had posted in thread to person to let it die and how they did not read OP.... but mod deleted their post which renders my post usless.  So I see the reasoning.

One was deleted by self moderated thread.  It appears he deleted whole thread as he wanted most likely did not want to pay out - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/help-need-on-business-plan-for-bitcoin-mining-1-btc-reward-updated-1165675 .   For the record I talked to him on skype and did not think he was a serious business person by questions so I did not take on helping him.  I'm guessing someone did and never got paid.

Second one deleted in https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/help-need-on-business-plan-for-bitcoin-mining-1-btc-reward-updated-1165675 .   Again I said he needed to know more before going deeper in business plan.

So I had 3 in a row which is huge for me as I try to make my posts helpful and don't spam.  But I did get those three in a row.  As others said look and there is multiple ways to see by who.

I do not think its a good idea for banks to get involved with bitcoin, they would want to gain some control over it.
Also banks are very fond of manipulating prices.
Same as Goverments they should stay well away.

Financial infrastructure and international aid is a way to gain trust, whilst they scheme away behind closed doors.

From here, over thirty or so posts I think maybe it was more.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/2015-07-10-cd-citi-to-discuss-blockchain-tech-potential-at-consensus-2015-1116810
The thread starter deleted the posts, not the mods, its a self moderated topic, he probably just wanted to clear the thread up

Well I thought is was weird all posts gone, meant nothing to the OP
I suppose he is entitled but still weird imo.

Cheers.

It gives you a general list of why it may have been deleted in the PM you receive but there is no option currently to give specifics (on most forums you usually don't even get a warning your post has been deleted so at least you get the courtesy here). You can suggest it for the new forum if you wish but I believe something like this may already be planned.

Nobody can help you if you don't provide info on what was deleted and from where but it's usually for offtopic replies or threads that have been unnecessarily necrobumped by a sig spammer and if you reply after them your posts will get deleted too.

And how can you know if that's what happened because if the sig spammer post was deleted too you would never be able to know, right?

No. If the post was reported (which they usually are) then it'll be in the handled que so if he posted in the same thread then it's easy to work out. Also, the mod who acted on it could speak out too.

Shouldn't the system actually tell you the exact reason your post was deleted? It would definitely help with all the posts here asking ''why did my post get deleted'' Just a message saying, your post got deleted because it was spam or because you quoted someone that got his post deleted.

How long ago were these posts from? Are they still in the modlog?

Was it a self-moderated forum, maybe the mod felt like your warranty conversation took up to much space.
