This problem is most reliable debit card service that related to the crypto only allow limited countries like Europe.
~snip~

Europe is a continent, and on that continent there is something called the European Union and the European Economic Area, which together make up a market of about 500 million people - I wouldn't exactly call it "a few limited countries". However, if you have a card that works, then you can be satisfied, because one is still better than none, right?

@joniboini, have you tried some of the virtual cards that work globally (with the exception of some countries)? Such cards can be used for online payments, but also for physical payments through POS devices, given that they can be added to Google/Apple Pay. For example, this service has been working for 1+ years and has proven to be reliable.

I would rather bet that the reason is regulation, because I assume that there are big differences in launching this kind of service in the EU or in the US, not to mention Japan or some other country. It takes a lot of time (and probably money) to get all the necessary permits.
I guess that's true. I don't recall any significant changes related to debit cards in my country though, not to mention some services did offer their service before. I guess it happened behind the scenes. I wonder why there are no local businesses that offer this product considering how 'friendly' my government toward crypto is. Maybe it's not really popular here, which sucks for me because I really want one.

This problem is most reliable debit card service that related to the crypto only allow limited countries like Europe. Those of us who live in Asia can't use many debit cards due to these limitations. However, currently I have been using Redotpay virtual and physical cards where I can use my crypto directly. Till now, I found it the most user-friendly virtual card. I want to see more reliable crypto cards that will accept users globally, just not in a few limited countries.

Makes you wonder if we're ever going to see worldwide cards at some point.

According to what can be found out, this service could be available outside the EU - and it is logical that this is their primary market, considering that the company behind everything is from Poland.

Makes me wonder if cost is the reason why they don't support worldwide services if that's the case.

Their website is really hard to navigate IMO. Not a fan of scrolling down forever for a simple change of UI, not to mention they provided little to no information about their details on the homepage. A bit unfortunate that it's still limited to the EU. Considering how GnosisPay is planning to expand into my country, I expect new services to follow suit if they gain enough users, CMIIW. Makes me wonder if cost is the reason why they don't support worldwide services if that's the case.

I just skimmed over their website, and the card doesn't look too bad,  except for the lack of Bitcoin support. Very easy to reach 1% cashback (you need to hold 0.1 GNO, which is about $15) and even 2% cashback (1 GNO) which should cover the fees.
That depends more on the price of GNO tokens, but despite that GnosisPay is probably one of the best Visa crypto cards currently available in the market.
Let's see if this new Mercuryo Mastercard will offer some better terms, support for Bitcoin with other coins, and how their non-custodial payment system is going to work.

GnosisPay card is already using this system, they are the first self-custodial Visa Debit Card.
Downside is that you can't use Bitcoin and you are limited with cryptocurrencies you can use with GnosisPay.

Do you happen to remember what caused all the bitcoin debit cards to shutdown at some point? We used to have e-coin (Wirexapp before rebranding, etc.) I know it was something about the company that used to provide them, but can't really remember the incident or the company's name and what caused them all to stop issuing cards. If I'm not mistaken, after whatever happened... no other (major) service or exchange has ever provided a worldwide card.
Unles I am mistaken it was because their card issuer Contis was closing their business.

As the title suggests, we're getting a new crypto debit card but as usual, it will be available only to Europeans.

The only interesting aspect is that they claim card users will spend their crypto directly from their own wallets, so I guess something similar to what Metamask plans to do with their crypto debit card.

Global payment giant Mastercard is expanding its support for non-custodial cryptocurrency wallets in a new collaboration that enables users to spend crypto while “being their own bank.”
After piloting a crypto debit card with the major self-custodial MetaMask wallet in August, Mastercard’s new partnership with the European crypto payments infrastructure provider Mercuryo will further connect traditional finance and crypto.

In the collaboration, Mastercard has enabled a new euro-denominated debit card that allows users to spend cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin stored on self-custodial wallets at more than 100 million merchants in the Mastercard network.
