I'm not a lead developer. Just some guy developing on Mastercoin like many others are doing.

I really don't care much about the price of Mastercoin neither. You think Bitcoin developers never sold Bitcoins at 0.10 USD? Your logic is very flawed. I'm not doing this to get rich I'm doing it to help build a protocol that will solve a lot of problems for all kind of different people. My time is a much more precious resource then my MSC, as long as I am spending that you don't have to worry I will jump ship any time soon.

I will take that action. I have actually never tried selling MSC before, guess I should get that experience. Soon it won't be needed anymore Smiley

You can send me the coins or we can use Maxmint as escrow.

not sure if I understand how this works.

I'd like to buy 10 mastercoins at the market price to test if I understand how to manipulate them.

What is the current highest -real- bid? Should I PM the guy at the top of the sellers list (bittime)? Should I contact the second guy? Should I keep contacting everyone until someone responds? What is your advice?

Also can I accept them simply by generating a new electrum wallet, and giving one of my addresses in that wallet to the seller, or is it more complicated than that? Sorry for the noob questions. But I missed the initial discussions, and can't find any documents that explain it clearly (or obscurely for that matter).

thanks for any help,

cheers,

You can just contact the first 2 or 3 sellers and close a deal with the first one that responds.

And yes, you can receive Mastercoins on any Bitcoin address, just make sure you actually have the private key to this address (you'll have to be able to send from this very address if you want to spend your Mastercoins). So don't use any shared web wallets like MtGox or btc-e. I'm almost sure you have access to your private keys using electrum – but don't quote me on that, I don't have it installed and can't give you a definitive answer on that.

Sorry everyone that has messaged me, have become extremely busy with other affairs and haven't had time to trade. Maxmint, please take down my offer. I'm willing to continue with the escrow at 0.095 for the 50 for rbdrbd but after that I won't take any offers below the 0.2 mark.

Thanks for the update, I removed your offer from the order book.

Bitcoin is too valuable to be used as a currency
November 10, 2013, 06:06:48 AM
2-Nov Olimpiata 0.0950 BTC/MSC 50 MSC 4.75 BTC

I would like to accept this offer and have the BTC ready to go. If Maxmint would be willing to escrow the exchange I'd greatly appreciate it. I will PM both parties. I'd have to say after researching Mastercoin I am very impressed with the idea and the possibilities!
Get in the back of the line buddy - I've been trying to accept this offer for day now.  I'd love to take anyone's MSC at .9 even .1.  These offerees don't seem to be serious about trading.

guys... don't fight, I'll be happy to sell you some @ 0.25 when we get there.

Watch our for new users or anyone asking to trade without escrow. I just had a message from user MGK asking me to buy his mastercoins, he was quick to reply with his bitcoin address and link to someones (probably not his) localbitcoins account, but now I asked about escrow he has stopped replying.

Here was his message, look out for any new account asking to trade like this:

You could send the BTC to the address attached to my LocalBitCoins account

https://localbitcoins.com/accounts/profile/UMP-45/
Then reply with the TxID and your MSC address.
Also you can send me a message there to verify. =)

He did contact me too, wanted to trade without escrow. )

I would assume Mastercoins are about to increase in value, as BTC just had a small correction, which means we should be seeing .15 btc/mastercoin soon if not higher. And that doesn't even factor in a possible exchange and new features around the corner. Will we see .25 in a few weeks? I wouldn't be surprised but only time will tell.

I guess even more then 0.25.

I hereby accept all three of these offers:

2-Nov   Olimpiata   0.0950   50   4.75
28-Oct   bittime   0.1000   50   5.00
5-Nov   control-z   0.1000   50   5.00

I am ready to transmit payment to Maxmint now.

If they fail to close this transaction, they should be stricken from the books as it tends to drive prices down when offers for low prices show but are not executable as genuine.

dolfnation wants to buy at this price too.  But nobody will sell to him.

I'm currently escrowing trades for both Olimpiata @0.095 and control-z @0.1, so these are definitely no fake offers.

I know that this order book is no perfect solution but I have to (again) remind everyone that all of this is done manually. People are in different timezones and won't instantly react to PMs. It can easily take more than 24 hours for a deal to be closed.

I'm confident we'll see a working distributed exchange soon – selling and buying Mastercoins will be a breeze then.

Or if you forget a order, you have to sell it at this price or it will be the last order you put  in the book !?
If you don't reply to maxmint of Pounce delete offer. They should remind everyone once per week. A standard fee should be included for their services.
If you verify but deny to trade at your offer blacklisting until you accept. Not accepting even after being blacklisted then what you said plus no escrow service from maxmint/Pounce..
