QUESTION:

Would you all prefer this to be in real silver or are you okay with a bar that is silver coated (example, like the alpen bars, they are not actual, real silver). I was wanting to do the latter due to cost associated to everyone.

I think because this is intended to be a DIY bar/coin I would love to see this in pure silver as that is where there will be more value placed on these collectibles. Now that so many makers are shifting into the DIY space I feel like so many folks are just buying the coins just to buy them and not loading them and the thought of holding empty unloaded bars or tokens loses it allure in the physical crypto space. At least if its silver it will always carry that value. Thats just my two satoshis tho Cheesy

Hey Frank,

Nice going!
Im a silvernut, but the premiums on anything full silver pushes me to say i'd be more likely to buy if plated. Or provide options, like on the dogebars. Copper-plated-full.

Keep in mind this is not an image on top of a bar, it will be the image directly pressed into the silver, so it will look quite a bit different when pressed.

I offered my help with a possible redesign but I also stipulated that I do so without
any reward whatsoever
.

I recently finished my postcard project and my wife asked last week "so whats
your next project going to be?"
I didnt have anything planned until frank created this thread.

So hopefully I can create something along frank's brief and that it would be
artistically acceptable.

very kind of you Smiley

Cool bar, like noted prior I would redesign as this is very similar to others. Also, noting your described state of going through a difficult time financially and mentally, I would stick to DIY. I feel that funded would not be a great idea until your situation gets better. We have see too many issues with funded items, as of recent, when people go through difficult times in life getting desperate and making negative decisions.

We all have ups and downs in life, I hope things get better for you and Godspeed

Thanks for the feedback. Also I would never sell a bar funded. I thought about that years ago and, with the money transmitter ordeal, I have no interest in ever doing that (which is why all of my wallets were diy, as well).

Will work on redesigning. This is something that I won’t be capable of doing immediately (getting these manufactured) but I’m hopeful that perhaps closer to the end of the year it may be possible.

Thanks everyone 😀

Exactly  Smiley I just thought it was fun to write it as half a million sat - especially because I believe sats will become much more important in the years to come

I wanted to get everyones thoughts on this design and see if it's something the community might be interested in.

I love it, but I've seen slightly different versions of this design in the past [not on a silver bar] so there might be some legal issues if you decide to go down this path [e.g. plagiarized works, etc... (FWIW I'm not trying to accuse you, but I also know how protective some of the designers can be against copying part of their designs, even if it wasn't on purpose)].

Maybe a doge coin.
Most of the things I said earlier also applies to this coin, but I think the silver bar has more potential if you improve the design a little bit.
- Best of luck Smiley

I'd say these could be popular frank.

Any more ideas on weights, dimensions, reverse side, hologram or are you just in the
Idea stage ATM?

I'd at this stage most people would be interested in an unloaded or DIY option
as per Mopar.

Thank you as well as to everyone else.

Yes I’m thinking the same size as the alpen bars. 40 mm x 80 mm x 6 mm
I’d like to do similar packaging, as well.

I do have a back design, I will post it when I’m back to my computer. It’s very simple and just simply says “Rosemary” at the bottom to show what city it was minted in.

I have not dived into the hologram side of things just yet

This would indeed be a DIY bar.

I am wanting to do some more metal DIY wallets as well and I have a couple of designs I am very happy with. Those will probably be basic holograms like we used previously with Lynx. For the bar, they will be much more involved.

In some breaking news, which is probably just slightly too early to mention, I may be regaining control of Lynx. The current owner is having a difficult time with the company and has really let things go. If you check the Twitter, you'll see he has not posted anything new in years. A lot of work shifted to AI which if I controlled the company, I would immediately pull all of those. We are in discussions right now of me retaining primary ownership. We'll see what happens and I will let you all know. This is honestly a blessing, if it does happen.

BUT

The reason I'm posting is, as ya'll know, I've been in a very difficult time financially and mentally. I've been drumming up some ideas and I have been considering doing some custom .5 Million BTC metal bars, perhaps in silver.

I wanted to get everyones thoughts on this design and see if it's something the community might be interested in.

As far as limit numbers, I'm not certain - I may leave that up to the community to decide.

This is an early working.

Let me know your thoughts.

Maybe a doge coin.

Curious what you think:

.5 million, what exactly does that mean? Its a bit confusing to be honest. does that mean 1/2 million satoshis? 500,000 satoshis?
