Code:
BTC = 1000 mBTC
,
the same way
Code:
g = 1000 mg
or
Code:
l = 1000 ml
.

+1. the SI system works and is nearly universally accepted/understood, why re-invent the wheel?

I see and use mBTC or mBTC most often.

I propose the mill sign unicode U+20A5 and start calling it 'millies'

1.234 BTC = 1234 ₥

Definitely prefer mBTC myself. mBit almost seems awkward. I do wonder if XBT will stick -- it hasn't in this community, but it is the traditional way to give currency abbreviations, I think.

mBTC or mBTC or BTM.

XBT is an ISO-compliant exchange symbol for bitcoin in similar fashion to XAU and XAG being used for gold and silver respectively. Just because it's an "official" symbol doesn't mean it needs to be used in normal conversation; similarly most people don't refer to XAU and XAG but call them gold and silver.

I think a shorthand nickname will come to the fore anyway if mBTC are commonalized. I sometimes call them "mills" as it is...

mBTC for sure.
We don't call it Bit, so no point calling it mBit.

Exchange people use the name XBT if they are talking about exchange stuff. I see the name regularly.
