Agree, even if it's real I would not support the project as I know the reputation of McAfee, which he destroyed it already in year 2017 during the time when ICO was still popular, he made tons of money that time, but this time it's different, people are already well aware and I doubt if there are still projects who will use his name for publicity, I'm afraid it would end up a bad publicity.

Nice promotion, maybe if what will be famous is the wavebet not waves itself although it will based on Waves (i am not know about wavebet before) But something like this wouldn't really affect on people's anymore. It makes no difference if it is real or not. I think most people disregard what he says and what he recommends anyway. Certainly he can have some short-term impact on price, but I don't think any real lasting impact.

Because John Mcafee is a very entertaining person, he was even voted as the most influential person last year if I'm not mistaken. And as much as we hate him, there are still people who are willing to hire this person and pay his good money to promote their project.
Now, can John sway interest of investors about this new project? Hard to tell at this point we can see the extent of his influence once we see the price of this project goes on a bull run.

If he's doing that for the money, why? I believe his net worth is more than $100M already. So there should be no reason why he is doing this only for money. Ok he gets something out of it but I do think that he has vested interest as well. Maybe he's putting some of his money as investments, so he's shilling the project so he can gain more profit. But in waves platform? I don't think they will ever go far in this platform.
