The POS is awesome. Is a standard Android tablet or is build on some custom hardware?
I know a shop keeper that could be interested in a bitcoin POS here in Italy, but is way easier if he can buy only the app to put on a standard tablet than to buy a piece of hardware from the other side of Europe  Undecided

Thank you, just a standard iPad, but will work on any tablet. This is because it not an App, but an Web App. We don't like restrictions or the possibility of being blocked by one Apple employee having a bad day.

Nice to know: I'm too for the openess of app  Grin

A tablet might be the best choice because of the larger screen, but one could utilize it on a smart-phone as well. It features responsive web design so will scale to fit.

So your Italy merchant would not have to buy any hardware other then a tablet, and maybe a receipt printer and cash register to hold cash.

That's nice: he already use a cash register with receipt printer, and a tablet  is not a big issue: he sell phones and computers

just watch out for someone to just grab the ipad and leg it, to then raid the wallet once they got it home. then selling the ipad on bitmit for further funds lol

Wink They would disable the POS system account from their main WalletBit account.

Here in Sweden we'll get a service called swish from Q4 2012 and onward. This should open up possibilities for instantaneous payments p2p, possibly even allow for decentralized exchanges and a host of other improvements (think everything mintchip would allow).

Not sure about developments in Denmark, or the rest of Scandinavia.

https://www.getswish.se/

This should be on all Danes radar too. Danske Bank is one of the providers who have signed up. It might be that it's easier to implement in Sweden due to the fact that we only have 4-5 big banks whereas you Danes have an incalculable amount of different banks.

Interesting. Will keep an eye on it.

If you want to try out microbits and ceptacle/cash please send me a mail. The cash service is *giving* out real money, until I get it approved at the payment provider, so that is why it s restricted.

Sorry about the .zip file - I got a bit side tracked creating it, but I can guide you through if you like.

Also have a look at the microbits presentation from BitCoin 2012:

http://ceptacle.com/presentations/microbits.pdf

Cheers,

Michael
