I have been a part of one healthcare ICO by promoting it through signature campaign. It's name was care4me and it was distributing its token called care coins. The project seemed quite promising to me and the ICO raised quite a good investment. They are going to release the care coin in the exchanges after November I guess. It was a great time promoting their coin and their team was also quite friendly to the people.

Hello everyone!  Smiley

Lets talk about blockchain healthcare projects!

Whitch do you know?

I have seen only one until now with which I actually got engaged few months back. The name of ICO project was Care4me. It was relevant to that and they were aiming to implant a system related to healthcare over the blockchain smartcontract. This project was all about the patients in the hospital and technological advancement that will take care of the same without getting tired. This project could have helped them remind about the patient compliance regarding the taking of medication, letting them to know when to take rest and communicate with the doctors effectively through medical language. However the project does not seem to be around now and I miss it because it was real deal. May be they did not succeeded after all the efforts they took.

Most of these healthcare blockchain-related projects are not so popular and recognized in the crypto-world, only a few will take its place in the healthcare field and accomplish any project goals set.

@robomed - you will be interested that in September 2016, there was a national Blockchain in Healthcare Workshop in Washington DC, jointly sponsored by ONC (Office of the National Coordinator for Healthcare IT)  and NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology). Over 90 papers were submitted for presentation, and 70 of them were published by ONC, and 15 of them received monetary awards for further development. Institutions submitting projects for consideration included MIT, Mayo Clinic, UCSD, UCLA, Deloitte, Cigna, IBM, Merck, Accenture, Intel, Accenture. Also many projects were proposed by independent healthcare providers and developers. Here is a link to the 70 publications:

https://oncprojectracking.healthit.gov/wiki/display/TechLabI/Blockchain+Challenge+on+ONC+Tech+Lab

There was also a Blockchain in Healthcare Code-A-Thon at Georgetown University in April 2017, links to further info:

As an attendee at the Sept 2016 Workshop, I noted that most of the projects were to promote private, permissioned blockchains, for the use of individual healthcare institutions. Personally, I think a more valuable approach would be the development of public blockchains for the use of all patients and healthcare providers.

The project I am working on uses an existing, established public blockchain to allow users to delegate permissions for existing health portals privately:  between patients, healthcare providers, and other caregivers, adhering to HIPAA standards. The desired outcome of the project is to preserve existing health IT infrastructure (such as existing EHR systems, and existing data and imaging storage), but leverage mandated health IT portals and EHR API’s so that apps can be created that collate heath data universally across multiple platforms.

I heard about these projects, but I think they will not take your niche because it is a large risks, and when it comes to health is critical. Not many hospitals will go to their implementation now.

In my opinion, this is a very slippery topic. It can not be said unequivocally that you need to use blockchain here. But I think in such issues as safe access to patient data, transparency of insurance payments, control of drug costs, record of the actions of doctors and nurses, analysis of medical data of the population - this makes sense.
From projects I know Patientory.

Healthcare is a really important sphere.

Time to check them.
Where you can determine the healthcare as the important sphere in the blockchain technology or something that had a relationship with the blockchain ecosystem.
I can't see anything about that. This worthless to say that the healthcare should not be combined with the blockchain. Especially about the medicine, and is there a relationship with it?

It seems to me that this is not the sphere in which decentralization is needed. On the contrary, healthcare should be controlled and centralized
I agree with you on that point and for that same reason, there are only a few who even dared to offer medical related healthcare projects that is like patientory. Besides it, it would be hard to seek medical attention from an anonymous doctor online wihtout dealing face to face for the doctor to check the real condition of patients and even if it were to be used for healthcare service payment, it is not the most viable thing to use. Although healthcare projects would be good for projects with concept similar with MedVault projects that allows access to patient records.

I traded patientory in the past weeks and I had the opportunity to take a look at this coin. Everything the team, development, partnerships are very good so far and buy support is very high. I don't hold it rather trade it but I really suggest everyone to hold it for long term.

It seems to me that decentralization will do much harm to medicine. Just imagine - the anonymous call of the doctor. In this way, criminals can, if necessary, seek medical help. ICO in medicine can only be considered as a means of raising funds.

I'm not so moved by Blockchain Based Medical platforms too.

Thanks, will look at it either!

I hope that you will create medical altcoins. Maybe this will be an alternative to the existing health insurance system. Many of us have seen how this can lead to a sharp increase in the number of investments. Maybe this approach will enable the poor who are the first to believe in it is inexpensive to obtain quality health care.
