I'll look into it. I'm still interested in forming another group myself though.

i RSVP'd for that one.. will be attending. i would guess that irvine would be the place where there are the most bitcoiners. it seems to like OC isn't really all that happening with bitcoins though.

I too would like a meetup in Orange County, I'm on the north end near Disney Land.

Nice! I don't live to far from around there. You too should start searching for other Bitcoin users in your area so that we gather a good portion of
people for the OC meet-ups.

I'll start gathering some Bitcoin enthusiasts here. If there aren't many I'll create some.

I'm probably going to start organizing meet ups in Orange County. We need to get something crackin' here.

Make sure to cross-post to the San Diego meetups (there are two groups, the weekly Talk N' Trade group, and the monthly San Diego Bitcoin meetup group).   Each of those have members who take the run south from OC.

What might be a way to get something started is simply a BitMob ..., where you agree to meet up for a meal and/or drinks at some place with the aim to help convince them to begin accepting bitcoin.    The San Diego group just did this at the Hillcrest farmers market with some success.

Another resource available might be BitPay, since their VP Sales is based out of L.A., perhaps she would attend a meetup and perhaps help by getting BitPay to sponsor it.  It's worth a try.

Great idea!

Thanks for this new NewLiberty!

Doesn't Santa Monica qualify as "near OC"? Smiley
There is going to be a meetup there tomorrow, or rather later on today:
