Elon Musk posted meme got sold for $28000 in WETH. Elon Musk have posted a meme in which a couple lying on a sofa watching TV find bitcoin at $69000 and ethereum at $4200 on the monitor.

In the post Elon Musk hasn't mentioned the author of the post. The author is extremely happy and has sold the meme for 5 Wrapped Ethereum. Once again the person who bought the meme had relisted for 70 Wrapped Ethereum.

Original author of the post is shegenerates. The author who posted the meme is Eva Beylin.
Lets put up some link for that:
https://www.cnbc.com/2021/10/22/elon-musk-reposted-28-year-olds-meme-it-sold-as-an-nft-for-20000-dollars.html

Extraordinary things like these arent really that a shocking thing here on crypto space where even odd things
could really happen. So lets just deal with it.  Cheesy

Lol so true. When you come from the crypto space and somebody talks to you about this Pokemon card being sold for $300k or so, and he expects you to freak out, you are just like: well dude, doesn't shock me at all. This stuff is happening in crypto day in and day out. Rather draw some dog pictures and took them online. Maybe you get lucky and Musk tweets it! Tongue

$28,000 is a good amount. The NFT by the way is relatable. Partners waiting for the $69K to happen before finally having sex I guess?

There are funnier than that meme I found on the marketplace, the owner is lucky to be picked. Anyone can probably create something like that and earn that much. If there is just a platform that we can create an NFT with just a few clicks I think I'm willing to create some.

Thats crazy. I still remember how I was making dozens of memes everyday to submit it into the Hhampuz contest which was hosted by Rollbit casino. Dam, why I am not that lucky enough to get my meme picked up and got reposted by Elon.  Tongue
Seriously, over all I also posted many of them over the twitter. It's unbelievable how someone's luck can change suddenly over the digital platform. I mean who would believe news like this? I mean I am afraid if I tell this to my parents they would definitely say, "how the hell you are wastage then". ROFL.

Awesome, she must be very happy with that deal. Now that meme will keep rotating here and there with even more royalty as it gets listed for 70 WETH.

That author was really lucky to sell his meme at that price and made a lot of money and that can make that author create another thing and sell it again. This NFT really gives a chance for creative people to create their own imagination in the meme and sell it to the public and yes, if they are lucky, they can sell it at a high price. But that impresses me to see how much the meme coin price and I think it will trigger the other to sell it higher. It seems Elon still have the power to lift the price in the meme Grin

"Any flashy but ultimately worthless investment may be called fool's gold in finance." https://www.investopedia.com/terms/f/foolsgold.asp

That's what tokens have always been. They are just coming up with new ways to fool people into buying them but under the hood tokens are the same dog shit wrapped in a paper bag to hide the smell a little bit. In the end this hype will also die like the previous ones and they soon come up with a new way to fool idiots into buying their dog shits.

I might get back to it once the price is normal or have to use Polygon to mint when i am free.
The platform and the community matters when you are minting NFTs. Polygon may flaunt the low fees for all they want but there is already plenty of art NFTs minted on polygon which fetch pennies.

Go with Ethereum if you want to but not before creating a marketing hype or story about why somebody should be in possession of the "masterpiece". You can carry the usual promise of "Each NFT comes with the original piece, shipped directly to address of user's choice".

I am surprised at the "surprise" you guys are expressing here. NFTs have been selling for crazy amounts for pretty long. 200K is nothing. There are collections like the cryptopunks, BAYC etc that have been selling for millions at a time. This is really just all the money floating around in the form of Ethereum. Much like ICOs, It ultimately benefits a lot of closed anonymous groups with established pedigree who hype projects of their choices and then sell them for millions. Some benefit does accrue to the artist community too and a lot of luck ones have become Made men.

Well, that is the pushing power of Elon Musk and as long as there are people who are convinced that anything he is posting in social media can have value in the marketplace then there will always be buyers and sellers, of course. Now...was the post made into an NFT? Anyway, we are still in the Wild, Wild West here, so to speak, so how we are evaluating value can still be experimental at best.

The bottom-line is that beauty is on the eye of the beholder and in this case the value is on the part of buyer who can also be soon a seller. Still, a small part of me is wondering: Are we not already in an upside world or maybe I am just holding on to my traditional view that I could not see the way of thinking in this industry we are in?

Kind of weird.

There are a lot of wealthy people out there. They could buy anything they want. Well, even those they don't want they probably also buy, perhaps just for the sake of buying. I'm not sure if they even appreciate what they are buying.

Anyway, perhaps Roland Orzabal was right in calling this world a mad world. And that might include the crypto world as well. People are spending money on meme coins and meme posts. Well, it's their money. They have the freedom to do whatever they want with it.

But this is not a discussion about Bitcoin.

Eva Beylin is a really lucky person, I really don't know how these things happen? Is it really luck or good use of opportunities? Or is it mad NFT? Or is it the madness of Elon Musk?
Really strange things happen here that are hard to believe!!! But if it was Elon Musk who bought the meme, then this amount is considered very trivial to him!!! He must be very happy to own these expensive trifles!!! Maybe it's not trivial but it's hard for us to understand how rich people think!!!
Maybe one day I will think to make some NFTs and put them up for auction for a million dollars!!! But I am waiting for the Ethereum fee to drop because it is very expensive!!! Grin

Nevertheless, this is ridiculous how the NFT market is growing. This is not the first time; nor the last. I won't be surprised if someone bids/buys the NFT with 70 ETH.

Seems that this just proves that there's a lot of people that don't know what to do with their coins. I mean, this is good for the industry but the price for a simple meme reaching that high is simply ridiculous

This has happened before with the bitcoin pizza order but that was when the price of BTC was not like today. They paid a huge price for single memes, which means it will boost the NFT market once again. Damn, right now all we need to do is if we have some kind of insane talent, we can use it to create an NFTs and sold it in the market as well. We need to learn how to create something like it because there are some high chances that this will be the next big thing in the crypto market.

The reason why it was bought at $28000 is for somebody else in the marketplace to actually buy it at a higher price, that's how NFT works in the first place, so I guess the person who bought that Elon Musk meme must've been someone related to the owner, and because of the price given, the buyer can actually sell the meme for a higher price, this is just a theory, I might be wrong but that meme is definitely gonna be sold at a higher price.

I really don't understand these NFT things. At past, I know that masterpieces were created by Leonardo Da Vinci, Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and these paintings are valued at very high prices and/or are protected in museums. The way NFT revolutionarizes digital art is great but why are memes so popular? Why would someone pay a lot of money in meme image/nft? There are a lot of masterpieces created online that you can see on deviantart and other websites, there are also great paintings like Megan fox by Nicco di matia and others but have never seen such a things sold at high price.

Seems that this just proves that there's a lot of people that don't know what to do with their coins. I mean, this is good for the industry but the price for a simple meme reaching that high is simply ridiculous
The user who brought the NFT is already put them on sale, which means he is trying to resell it at a much higher price and that is how the NFT market is progressing. Anyone who invest in the market does not thinking that they could make a healthy profit in the future and nothing else. I have read in some of the topics here that one of the top selling NFT which was worth millions was a orchestrated plan rather than a real buy. So these fancy deals are viewed with suspicion Grin.
I've read it too somewhere that the buyer and seller knows each other, meaning they were friends or something and buying such NFT thing is like a new way to launder money. I don't know about the story of someone putting on sale after buying it, if that's true then I guess someone is finally realizing what they have done that shouldn't be done in the first place.

I don't know if someone would want to buy that NFT too, but if someone is in for collection then they can have it. There's nothing wrong if someone wants to collect those NFTs, it's their money. Cool

I agree though, people just throw loads of money in a meme? doesn't makes sense.

Anyhow, this is the current hype so no one can really stop it, we have seen this before in the ICO era wherein investors are willing to pour money on some projects that doesn't have any solid use case or anything. As the saying goes, history repeats itself and this is applicable to crypto industry.

Maybe I should learn to make NFT.  Cheesy
at such a young age make pretty fantastic money for the memes he created. I think after this there will be a lot of memes aimed at tempting Elon Musk to be interested in buying more Memes. this price is quite expensive for NFT.

on the other hand, from Elon Musk point of view, that might be a low price for him. It's great to be one of the richest people in the world.

well, it's time to learn to make NFT. LOL

It is literally shocking to see these kind of valuation for these memes, i have a lot of paintings and i am also thinking to post them. After seeing this thread i went down to the site and thought of minting some of the arts i am holding but what shocked me is the minting fees of ETH which is $280 to mint one art which is crazy high and thought of passing them  Cheesy.

I might get back to it once the price is normal or have to use Polygon to mint when i am free.
