I forgot to mention "Irrational Man"(2015), a great new movie by  Woody Allen. If you like thought-provoking films than Irrational Man is definitely for you. And do not judge it by the trailer, trust me you will be nicely surprised watching the whole story.

Has anybody seen the butterfly effect ? I've heard a lot about it and wasn't sure if it was worth checking out

First thing that came to mind was Se7en with Brad Pitt and Morgan freeman. The ending was great and the storyline flowed and kept my interest

"Hard Candy" is a pretty intense movie too.

That Requiem for a Dream movie has been in the back of my head for a well,forgot the title of it. The movie is dark.

really dark haha but I think it is great and was directed/filmed fastastically.

OldBoy was mentioned, definitely a good movie. There is the asian subtitled version and an english version that came out in 2014.

When I wrote memorable the film has to be a decent film. though I haven't watched your 2 suggestions just by the title puts me off but I could be wrong.
