Speaking of core, is that Cobra avatar still wreaking havoc?  I deleted my twitter app so I don’t keep up.

Cobra has been actively opposing maximalism culture and the newbie fuelled over optimism for sometime on twitter. He also keeps mentioning how bitcoin usage is needed instead of arguments and crusades about maximalism or overthrowing finance. He hates Blockstream's Liquid. Once in a while, he sends out gem of a posts like the one where he talked about bitcoin of the old. Like this one:
https://twitter.com/CobraBitcoin/status/1184884469804818433

Quote
I have this deep nostalgia for Bitcoin of old. It's almost a disease. I miss the times when you could actually engage with Satoshi one-to-one. I miss being naive and losing thousands of coins because of some dodgy wallet, or people being open minded with no tribalism.
The last part where he explains why he doesn't engage with the community anymore would surely resonate with some people.

Nice.  He’s right - and maybe we’ll get a nice surprise this year.

And boy do I really know the naive feeling of losing thousands and even hundreds of thousands of coins.  Ha!

How do you do it, brother?

Unfortunately the first rule of the merit cycling club is to not talk about merit cycling club so I can't tell you.

Cryptsy took it all otherwise I’d own crypto and all you clowns.  Haha

It’s still a great brand which is why I liked it.  People only see the easy money and hype in coins.  Few are willing to put in the work to understand what’s really going on, what makes a coin legit and then do everything it takes to invest in that coin to hold as long as it takes and actually help out in any way possible.

That’s why most coins will die soon and most of these wannabe “genius” investors will lose it all.  Easy come easy go.

LOL

Everything was better back in the day, even fucking shitcoiners were cooler... just look at the above, still shilling a long dead scam as if it's the second coming of Satoshi.

Not like today's illiterate penny scammers.

Ain’t that the truth dude, miss the old days.  Wait, you just made fun of me.  lol

Ixcoin just might be the second coming of Satoshi.  Y nobody listen to me?  Wink

BTW, you have over 4,000 merit points with a newer account than mine.  I’m high caliber, that’s just not possible.  How do you do it, brother?

This will probably get erased of course cause gee, I should edit my last post for a totally different subject.

Anyway, I just saw your screename:  GAZETA?  You romanian, bro?  So am I and Cyrus - there better be no treasonous behavior here cause that hurts me on a personal level after the near 5 years levied upon me in romoland.

Hehe yes, maybe your post will be deleted because you posted more than two consecutive replies in a row. But fortunately I quoted it thus it will stay here (unless mods will delete mine too lol).

Yes, I am Romanian Smiley, this being one of the few Romanian crypto websites / newspapers. And yes, I know you and Cyrus are Romanian as well. Cyrus is our hall of fame here, as a Romanian is global administrator. The Force is with us!

About you (and me), we spoke also in the past, but I think you forgot... You were offering some coupons back in 2018 or so Smiley I think Vtrader coupons.

And no worry, no treason here, as you could see from my previous posts Smiley

Cheers!

Sorry, don’t remember, I talk to so many people [see high caliber].  I’m in severin, BTW.  Trapped, but I guess we’re all trapped now.  :/

I gave you 1 merit for that post - I hope it’s not gonna get flagged as abusive.  Gulp!

Hahaha.  Is that why?  Each post was a specific and different response.

Kinda funny that hasn’t happened in 7 years.  lol

Actually yes, according to the forum rules:

"32. Posting multiple posts in a row (excluding bumps and reserved posts by the thread starter) is not allowed."

Maybe it didn't hapen until now because some mods are more strict and other are less strict. Or maybe they were overwhelmed and just didn't notice.

It happened to me sometimes and either my post was deleted, or it was appended to my previous one (again, depending on the mod). And, of course, it also happened to post 2-3 replies in a row without having any if them deleted. But the rule is clear though.

Meh, Cyrus knows me and I have posted exactly the same way on his other threads.

Rat games will not be tolerated.

This is nothing more than a personal vendetta by an insider who’s connected to Core and bitcointalk.

3 of my posts have been deleted by the mods on this thread.  One asked a simple question and the other 2 were hardly offensive given the accusations and the fact this is Bitcointalk.  Regardless, the only way they were deleted is if OP was butthurt.  Again.

The reason they were deleted is because double/triple posts are forbidden. Put all in one post and you'll be fine.

You’re the accuser here yet you refuse to answer some basic questions raised by Vlad and others.  That’s a serious red flag.

If a consensus has been reached, then I can close this thread.

Still, I'll leave it open another 48h for any other reply from Vlad2Vlad/ Apocalypsis/Apocalipsa or any other member of this community to express their opinions then it will be closed.

If the sender/receiver is not a merit source nobody will give a damn.

I saw... sad.

This seems so personal to you.  Did Vlad recently say something to you that got you all butthurt and your feelers hurt?  Sad

You gonna fire Vlad, dude?  We’ll get him.  Haha.

Hmmm, yes, clearly this guy is using a sock so he’s either butthurt or a bleeding ass liberal.  Argh, I just realized that many people here are from other countries and they don’t understand slang.  brb, gotta squeeze in a few more serious, on-topic responses while there is still time.

For the poor English speakers:  iHodler [who is using a sock] may be butthurt.   Kiss

Merit was not being "abused" here -- that's the mistake you are making.
So swamping merits back and forth between his alts can not be tagged as "abuse". If so, I will change the name of the thread.

Perhaps it was given away frivolously, but Vlad isn't a merit source, so who cares?
..and were being received back frivolously. Coincidence?

Wrong again, hater.  It’s not what that means, it means I’m not a scammer looking for schemes like selling merit points.  And these guys, Hornetsnest, and Market Magic, I don’t know who they are, but they must have said something that either made me laugh or impressed me in some way so I gave them my merits.

As for that bet - it is a big deal cause it was a hasty bet I made [and I don’t agree with gambling] about when the bitcoin was coming and it didn’t happen the year I expected so I lost.  I didn’t know the guy Jake, or whatever his name was, he was just a random guy in a chat room and on a different continent and I had to borrow money at the time to pay him.  I did a difficult thing, I paid the bet, cause it was the correct thing to do.

1. I am not a hater, but there are a lot of good posts all over the place that deserves to get merited. for example you gave 1 merit to this post which you found excellent and Apocalypsis gets 12 merits for 3 words question. Why?

2. Let's say I believe you that you don't know Hornetsnest, and Market Magic. How about Apocalypsis and Apocalipsa? Are this your alts? Don't lie!

Dude, you might be new here but we gotta get this Vlad guy.  He just gave MarketMagic 21 merits for, wait for it....a 3 word question.  It’s almost like he’s mocking you.

And 21, get it?  He’s like totally going full Illuminati confirmed on you now, dude.

People are being scammed for millions of real dollars daily in crypto, we need to focus on what’s important, we can’t have this kind of insubordinate behavior in crypto.  This merit Shekel swap stuff is unthinkable.

Keep at it, I’m 100% behind you.   Grin

I wouldn’t lie but you just did.  That apocalypsis post had 6 words, and he’s so smart that he might be my equal.  If you can’t count to 6 how can you be trusted, noob?  Haha.

And only a communist would tell somewhere how and where to distribute his wealth.  Commie.

What’s the goal here, ban me?  Oh noooooooooooo.  Hahaha.

Clearly you don’t know me.  It makes no difference - I’m just here doing my best to do a particular job.  I am at a big net loss with crypto and especially with ixcoin.  I would have been at a much bigger advantage if I had just minded my own business and didn’t try to help anyone [and I knew this from the very beginning].  What you’re doing is the equivalent of threatening to take away my gold star off a quiz I had in 5th grade.  Hahaha - meaningless.

Noob.

To be honest, even after 2 years of being around, the "rules" are still confusing to me.

If you read the Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules it has no rules regarding the trading of merit, however, there is another pinned topic FAQ: Everything you need to know about forum 'activity, account ranks and merit

It literally states:

Selling merit is disallowed.

Do I think that is a forum rule even though it's not in the rules' topic? YES. Am I 100% right about it? No clue.

As far as I know, merit trading is not forbidden, but discouraged. Please see below a quote of LoyceV

Merit sales, transfers to aliases, back-and-forth trading, etc. are not much of an issue. All illegitimate merit will decay, and will account for a tiny and very expensive fraction of the total merit economy. It's basically a rounding error; fight it where convenient, but waste no sleep over it.

Isn't it looking like a "new merit cycler" being formed here?  Roll Eyes

I don't think so. If it was though, they should wear Foxpup's Merit Cycling Club avatar, which is not the case here Smiley

So.. just because is a Legendary and old member, I must "let the man live", meaning abuse the merit system.

I got it... it seems that the rules don't have to be applied for "everyone and anyone".

Merit was not being "abused" here -- that's the mistake you are making.

Perhaps it was given away frivolously, but Vlad isn't a merit source, so who cares?

If you could find evidence of merit being sold, that would be a different story.

Correct, I’ve NEVER sold a single merit point.  And rarely have I given away just 1.  It’s the same when I give away coins, it’s usually very generous.  Say something original or funny and odds are you’ll get a big merit reward.

I know, hard to believe.

OP, noob, I hope you’re on top of this insubordinate situation.  This blatant [abuse] could get serious.  Next thing you know planets may collide, WW3 might start or this market magic guy might buy a lambo with 777 merit points.  I know Vlad, he WILL find a way to match triple 777’s.  The guy has issues when he sets such impossible goals.

Please get on this, ASAP.

Thanks, bro...

Merit sent back and forth by Vlad2Vlad. Most likely his alts.

Vlad2Vlad sent 50 merits to Apocalipsa for this post.
Apocalipsa sent 25 merits back to Vlad2Vlad for this post.

Vlad2Vlad sent 28 merits to Apocalypsis: 12 merits post, 8 merits post, 7 merits post and 1 merit post = 28 in total
Apocalypsis sent 13 merits back to for this post.

Noted the users name Apocalipsa and Apocalypsis?

Vlad2Vlad sent 44 merits to MarketMagic  and received 37 back from MarketMagic according to BPIP
Few posts from MarketMagic: 7 merits- one line post , 7 merits - for a 7 words post. 7 merits - for a greeting card, 3 merits - for a bump.

Vlad2Vlad sent 271 merits to hornetsnest  and received 32 from hornetsnest according to BPIP
Few posts from hornetsnest that Vlad2Vlad merited big: 21 merits, 21 merits, 14 merits - practically he made this user Sr. Member alone.
Of course, hornetsnest sent part of the merits back for posts like this: 10 merits, 10 merits.

Vlad2Vlad sent 28 merits to schnötzel for this 4 posts: 7 merits, 7 merits, 7 merits, 7 merits.
schnötzel sent 49 merits to Vlad2Vlad for this post.

Add this one too dude.  Only 2 merit donors out of 2 million+ bitcointalk accounts for the BiblePay thread.  One donated 1 merit point and this Vlad2Vlad character donated 100.  WHAT?

This needs immediate investigating into any religious affiliations he may have too.  You may have just unearthed something much much bigger.  Keep digging...

You missed some good ones.  Like 100 sent to Hal.  100 to bibleCoin (we cant be having religious people here), and you totally missed the 7’s.  Lots of 7’s, 14 = 7+7, lots of 21 merits = 7+7+7.

He Even did several 33 rewards.

Illuminati confirmed.  Hahaha.

I knew I remembered the username from a couple of places, that was one of them. Side note: He really needs to wipe off that ixcoin turd from his profile.

Lauda trades merit with atriz

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/laudaatriz-possible-alts-of-each-other-merit-abuse-2827620

They evetually removed stingers on bogus basis

Lauda talks about ixcoin but and has tried to wipe xcoin from his own scamming past

Tag and flag lauda would be better use of time.

You cant have double standards

Here's the thing about Vlad:

He's been here for a long time, just kind of quietly does his own thing.

I don't think he's going to use his merits to sneak an alt into a sig campaign or for any more nefarious purpose. Even if he has one or more alts that he's merited, he doesn't really use them for anything other than to bolster his own ego.

Ergo, I don't think there's anything worth worrying about here. Even if his recently-merited followers are kind of dickheads.

Interesting post here i think for future use.

Probably some sort of off-forum selling going on.
As it seems he ranks them up, and they send back half of it (as i understand, for every 2 metits you get 1 smerit)

If so, that is not allowed.  sMerit is not a commodity.

I agree. Unfortunately fiverr.com has many merit sellers.
Anywhere from $10 per merit upwards

You must be fucking kidding me?

Are some people really paying that kind of money for merit?! I can't believe anyone it that stupid... But on the other side it mean's I'm a whole lot richer  Grin Should add that to some portfolio tracker hehe.

I remember of a guy accused by me and many others, who, after being pointed out, started sending unsolicited PMs to many of us.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.52570339
That's the thread, almost similar where he/she used to give merits to people at a single shot, but at that time, many people went against me and told me that its their merit and they can decide whom should they be giving their merits to. That's why I turned my way towards trying to get more people like him/her to highlight his/her deed.

That's insane.  I haven't been doing much reading on the forum for the past couple of weeks and thus haven't really noticed the level of garbage posting, but are there still a lot of bounties going on?  I thought a lot of them had died off--and I haven't seen a lot of merit-begging threads in quite some time, so I sorta figured the market for merits dried up.  Guess not.

I don't think he's going to use his merits to sneak an alt into a sig campaign or for any more nefarious purpose. Even if he has one or more alts that he's merited, he doesn't really use them for anything other than to bolster his own ego.
That would be a bad use of the merit system in any case, though I don't think it would be tag-worthy.  Just my opinion, however.

It died down alot, sure, with merit introduction.

Flag time? I'll watch until more evidence is presented and some consensus is formed.
Since trading merit is against the forum rules, shouldn't the accused member/s be reported rather than tagged? I mean what stops them from trading merit even with an active flag and a dozen negative feedback?
No. Merit trading is an action that is first tagged. From what I know, I do not remember many cases of people getting banned for this. It is more in the sense of: If you are a merit source, and sell merits, then you will not be one much longer kind of rule.

But when we start talking about ranking up to Sr, Hero or Legendary, it becomes impossible for anyone to consider spending that much.

That sounds reasonable.

Quote
Isn't merit trading only against the rules if you are a merit source? I mean, we all agree that it's not a good thing to do, but the consensus from the community that something is not ok is one thing and being officially not allowed is another thing.

No clue.

I highly doubt that hornetsnest would pay $2710 to get that 271 merit, so if this is anything, he is probably farming accounts and not actually selling merit, or he is not aware of how much they go for.  Grin
I always thought that the reason some users sell merits for as much as $10/each is that some users just want a quick single merit to start bounty hunting and $10 isn't such a big amount. But when we start talking about ranking up to Sr, Hero or Legendary, it becomes impossible for anyone to consider spending that much.

No, i've seen it for $10 and upwards.
Not saying this is the case here, but fact is many people are desparate for merits and will gladly pay for just 1.

As you know, most bounties accept jr members or members minimum fir signature campaigns, so it's turning out to be a real shady off-forum business

This is clear cut merit abuse. Probably a merit sale deal going on or Vlad2Vlad is trying to farm some accounts. He/she shamelessly thinks he/she can get away with it since merit abuse isn't moderated.

Yes, this one caught my eyes from: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=topreplies 2nd place.

Also the thread started by him is listed 4 times in top 21: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/the-riddle-of-the-twin-brothers-who-were-are-and-will-rule-the-world-317658 which is weird at least.

Note that user schnötzel is also suspect of being part of the same MAG (Merit Abuse Gang), I will add it to the OP. Added!

This might also be the latest one . Happened a few days ago in the romanian local section .
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177500.60

He gave 50 merits to a newbie with 4 posts for that single reply ,  found it odd , but assumed he was just overly generous cause the newbie supported his city.

Saw you were reffering to this in the op .
