If you found such cases then simply report it to the moderator and highlight the involved users in front of the forum members. I am sure, they will get red tags and parmaban as well if they are abusing the forum rules.

Before the Merit system the users were selling the accounts by farming them and selling in potential rank way and now after merit system implemented now they are selling SMerits which they have in the accounts they have created for selling. So i think whenever a new system is implemented the negative side will also occur, that cannot be avoided. But it is right that we should be keep watching in our local threads that whether their is any selling of merit is their or not and get that noticed to the DT members. So that this type of spam can be controlled.

You don't need to bother that merit selling it will be depleted in the long run, and they gonna feel sorry if they bear that red trust that so quite annoying when you try to enroll in the campaigns.
You have a point brother, I also encountered that somebody PMed but not buying merit he/she begging me to give my smerit.
Well, as what you have said they will not  be depleted in a long run time to time they will be caught in the moderator and that is put in your account high risk once you are busted.
The best thing to do is ''report to moderator''.

How you came to know about this as you are not that high ranked member ?

You can report such cases and expect some action to be taken. With money, one can buy everything ranging from merits to even higher rank accounts. However, all canot do this and they have to go through the correct route and that helps the forum as they make quality posts in the process.

Damn why don't I ever get any of these offers :-/ Could have been rich by now!
Just kidding of course, please don't pm me to buy merit. Not selling it.

How much are these people even offering for merit? With the risk that the seller is taking, it should be quite a lot, no?

I still haven't seen any proven merit sellers. Seems like their problem is that it is pretty easy to uncover such cases. You won't buy 100 merit from a single person so you have to spam your buy request to many users and if one of them will request for a red tag then the other sellers will be uncovered. There is no safe way to sell merits.
I believe it may be a bannable offence for a merit source to sell his source merits.
No. I believe theymos already stated that it is your choise how you are using your merit. However, you can still get red tagged for that.

Merits are totally free since the time merit system launched by Theymos, lol.
Therefore, I don't see demand to make it more free one again.  Roll Eyes
In my opinion we should change this by making free merits

Which specifications will made such your proprosed program different from activity-based rank system?

We should have a programm that gives merit per day

Which works forum users will do if such stupid policy implemented, especially shitposters and account farmer?
The day you work more the day you have merit more

It will certainly never happen!

I think there are various DT Members with their own respective regional language that will surely watch over those local boards. However you could also post your suspicions in this thread with the appropriate format: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2896910.260 . Providing a translate with the right comprehension could help the case, as online translators aren't translating grammars accurately.  Wink
ok I'll try... and thanks for your suggestions, I'm use my little English dictionary for translate  Grin

First of all, Merit like a trust system aren't moderated, but you can report Merit buyers/sellers to DT members and naybe they will tag them.
Merit abusers are risking to get red trust rating.
You can get merit if you have money - you're right. But I suspect that you need to have very deep pockets to buy enough Merits to reach Hero or Legendary rank. Maybe it would be cheaper to buy Bitcointalk account than 1000 Merit. And more merit you're buying - bigger risk that you will be caught.

Sure, of course you can buy merit with money and as a little extra you get negative trust as well. I don't know why are people risking to buy merit, you'll get caught sooner or later anyways.

Thank you for your input.

So I think, moderators needs to pay more attention in "Local Area" to stop this misuse.
If I found any abuse about merit on my local board I will tag them and make a thread in reputation. We are all here to do our part for the community and I suggest that you do the same.

as long as post is decipherable for human being I don't see any problem with that.  Wink

It's not a big problem and will end with days except:

 1. merit source was selling his sMerits.
 2. A massive fleet of alternative accounts.

Apart from these cases, the merits sell is limited and easy to discover"you can’t rank-up to higher rank using this way."
However, If you notice bad situations "more than 50 merits" you can report here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/list-suspected-users-that-are-abusing-merit-30-2896910 or PM any DT member "after proving alt accounts or selling merits."

You guys all know about this business, and also know some upper rank member misuse this system.

Someone PM a upper rank member " Dear brother I want to buy some merit... i want to send you some $ " then upper rank member " OK, send this Address"

And we observe that, most of this business occurred in " Local Area ".

So I think, moderators needs to pay more attention in "Local Area" to stop this misuse.

Merit has it's pros and cons but IMO the pros are higher than the cons.

Merit improved the writing habits/reading habits/knowledge seeking habits dramatically those who are here for self development. There are people who came to this community to seek knowledge about the whole cryoto space.

Merit made life harder for bounty hunters/signature campaign abusers especially those who have only one intention to spam the community for personal gain.

Which side you are?
Accepting the pros and be ok with the less cons OR accepting the cons and refuse to be improving yourself.
