Maybe in time these people will learn.  Maybe.
Virtue signaling brings not praise.

Let's not forget the number of people who jump into Reputation threads to do the same when there's an obvious unsubstantiated statement. Same thing with no collateral Lending threads.

There's also so many threads like this claiming I don't really care about merit but secretly they do and hope that they just get merit for saying they don't really care about it.
I agree, but has this proven to be a viable strategy so far?  I've read a number of similar threads shouting "I don't care about merit, we must make a quality post and get knowledge to invest and help our family, blah blah blah", and I haven't seen much merit being given out for these posts.

I would also suggest that if OP's aim is really to just learn about crypto, there's absolutely no reason to be posting in threads about merit, much less creating superfluous ones like this.  It's all been said and done before, and I'm also going to put him on ignore just for starting this thread.

Maybe in time these people will learn.  Maybe.

Edit:  I do care about merit, but more about giving it out to people who deserve it.  I think it's an excellent response to the spamming problem, and I fully support it.  I am hoping I start seeing low-ranked members posting stuff that's interesting instead of inane crap like the above.

Please, if you want to share your thought about merit, just post in the thread made by Theymos, there are lot of people there and the thread made for merit general talks. It is annoying to see more thread/topic made about merit.

You won't learn anything if you are put on ignore, and I've just put you on ignore for starting this.

See? it is not only me who is annoyed by this kind of action. You are on somebody's ignore list and it decreases the chance for you to get merit, and i bet it is not only Jet Cash who are applying this rule.

There is so many topic talking about merit, how do i get merit, merit system is unfair, etc

There's also so many threads like this claiming I don't really care about merit but secretly they do and hope that they just get merit for saying they don't really care about it. If you don't care you don't need to say anything about it and just carry on as usual and that's why these threads are utterly redundant.

There is so many topic talking about merit, how do i get merit, merit system is unfair, etc

Basically I like to read, but not good in write, it's hard for me to give a good answer to a topic, because many more experienced people, more expert people in this forum, of course their answers are better than me, so I am more often read without commenting, bad comments will only become junk, so very hard for me to get merit by making a good post

Maybe  my rank will never go up forever, so what?
I know rank is important for bounty hunter especially in sign camp, is that just the goal? Raise the rank to get more reward on sign camp bounty
Come on .. bounty is not just sign camp there are many others
As I mentioned above I am more often read without commenting on a topic
So the sign camp task that should make few post in one week is little hard for me

The point is I do not care wether I get merit or not, my rank is up or not, the important thing is i can learn something from this forum, at the end the knowledge that i get from here can be used to get money from trading or from other, increasing my knowledge is more important than getting merit or raising rank
