It depends on what local boards we are talking about <…>.
I can give you my view in relation to my local board (Spanish). There, the number of posters and the dynamics of the local board per-se is smallish. Therefore, it is relatively easy to stand-out, since there not too many daily posts to "compete against". Providing the posts have any decent content to it, being merited should not be an issue if, of course, someone with merits is actually roaming the area to award them.

Our local board has one or two merit sources that I’m aware of, although certainly not just focused on the local board, but that are rather active on the English boards in general. Besides them, not that many people have large sums of merit. If just taken a look, and over the last month, only 5 people have managed to award more than two merits there, to 40 different recipients.
The amounts awarded on my local board are often small: 84,30% of merited posts are merited by a single person, and the amount is seldom above 2 merits.

In summary: It´s not difficult to earn merits if you post decently, although you won’t get many, and due to there being few decent posters, the number of distinct recipients is not very large either (which in turn often leads to getting less merits due to a self-awareness of this fact when awarding merits).

Most easiest way to get any amount of merit is local section

It depends on what local boards we are talking about. In some local sections, especially in those where there are local merit sources, it`s quite possible to get merit. But even there it`s given only for high-quality posts. Nobody will give you a merit just because you are countrymen or speak the same language.

At the same time, there remain many local topics that don`t have separate board, not to mention local merit sources. For example, the Ukrainian section still belongs to the "Other Languages" and doesn`t have its own board, although Ukrainians are quite active at the forum and bring great benefits. We also don`t have any merit sources, so you can only receive merit from other users. Unfortunately, merit sources don`t read this section, so many good posts remain without reward.

Every time I run out of sMerit I'm happy that I have no more responsibilities to search for good posts and i can just browse around. Then someone filled my bags again like TMAN the last time and here I am again, looking for posts Wink I guess it's the same with merit sources, but without the small breaks.
I've never been out of sMerit since it was introduced. But I'm sending more lately, so that's something.

Even before the merit source time? I had 1 sMerit airdropped but I gave it away to theymos for the merit announcement , then I got my first merit the next day and since then I always had at least 1. Just a few months ago I run out of sMerit for the fist time, but it was just for a short time. Now I gave away all my sMerit and I feel good. I feel like obligation to browse the forum if there are some sMerit left to give, yeah sounds crazy I know...

To get real merit, I find it difficult because I present bad articles,
However, I am very active in the activities and if somebody can send me some merit, I am very thankful for that

Most easiest way to get any amount of merit is local section and there you can get or hoped to get one merit for someone there. But did take some look into your posts 99% are for social media bounties where you place list what they ask. Be little creative on do little research on one subject for example what could be better now investing in gold crypto or real estates. Read some articles online and make some post about your option on this, this is off course example. Or create some good and maybe very visited topic that will bring you maybe even more merit. Read here a little there are good topic about merit distribution, and believe that user DdmrDdmr is good choice to get started. He has very good topics about merit distribution and I personally follow his topic. Start from there and you will see that this can be very helpful.

However, I am very active in activities
Yeah, you are very active with activities. You have till now made 456 reports posts but didn't get 1 merit.
Even worse: he's advertising a website (in his profile) that asks people for their private keys, and thus goes against the the first rule of crypto.

Seems like it's a miracle to find a merit worthy posts nowadays.
I have the same "FWP". Exactly a month ago I merited many different posts, and since I wasn't that active in the past days, my sMerit is piling up again.

Then, nowadays, getting merit without any corruption means MIRACLE. ?
Suppose getting merit from better post could be a natural bitcointalk phenomena and not miracle.

I have some sMerit I want to give away and just went through your post history but I couldn't find any worthy post. Most of your posts are in a spamy megathreads. Seems like it's a miracle to find a merit worthy posts nowadays.

Christmas season is coming is there a chance of merit system deactivation?
Is there a chance that theymos may give us Christmas bonus?
Marry merit in Christmas or maybe in new years eve.

I think merit is the best gift ever to crypto communities if possible.  Grin Grin Grin

How are these two phenomena even related? I don`t see any logic ... Implication is clearly not your strong point. Your only chance to get merits for the Christmas holidays is to learn to write better posts until that time. That would really be a Christmas miracle!

If you invested some of the time you spend on social reports, on trying to create decent content that can be of use to more that yourself and the ICOs you post socials on behalf of, then you may have a chance of getting merit at some point.

The idea is not too difficult: create posts (not articles) that can be appealing in a way due to it’s content, and that may be of use/interest to others more than oneself …

If I am not wrong, your article is full of only facebook and twitter reports.

However, I am very active in activities
Yeah, you are very active with activities. You have till now made 456 reports posts but didn't get 1 merit. This is your first post without the shit social campaign reports if I am correct. How can you expect to get merit with those?

hey guys I would love to get some merit pls..  Embarrassed

And I would love to have 25 million BTC.  Cheesy I'd ask to strike up a deal, but I'm afraid you will never be able to raise the 25 million BTC.  Roll Eyes However, if the reason you want a merit is so you can wear a signature, you may buy a copper membership. It's very reasonable, and you don't have to beg.

maybe its for a HAT but i doubt that Roll Eyes

No, I want it for a lifetime supply of Ramen and I plan on living forever.

Update on daily merit distributions since 24th Jan. 2018.

The new box plot looks better after disable displays of outliers in box plot.
For full details, please visit the original thread via the link below.
~
Medians displayed via horizontal lines inside boxes, and the plot presents same statistical facts as the table below.

In the boxplot, it easily see the small difference of median between full and after merit dataset, which are 652 and 627, respectively.
In contrast, the difference between before and after 19th Jan. 2018 is much more significant, with nearly 3.4 times higher for the median daily merits of the period before 19th. Jan. [2154 compared to 627].
~
* Before: the period of first four weeks after the launch day of merit system (days before 19th Jan. 2018).
* After: the period of days since 19th Jan. 2018.

It depends on what you want to see at local board level (aggregate, individual, etc) . That I’m aware of, you can take a look at:

a) Merit Dashboard. Some Local Board related information can be retrieved by:

- Tab "Section/Subsection": Aggregate Merits given to a Local Board, broken down by month.

- Tab "Ranked-up": Filter by subsection (choose a Local Board) to see who has ranked-up under the Merit System, while being merited on the local board too (and perhaps other boards).

- Tab "Rankings": Filter by Subsection (set to the Local Board’s name) and/or date range to see top Meriters, Merited, and Merited threads on the Local Board.

- Tab "Potential Merit Sources": Filter by Subsection (set to the Local Board’s name) and/or date range to see which people have given merit to how many people on a given Local Board (SentNetworkSize) and the amount of Merits (sMerit).

- Tab "Personal Summary" and “User Summary” for views on an individual basis.

b) Top 30 Merit givers per board - Interactive Tool to spot possible Merit Sources.

c) @Piggy has additionally provided an open SQL environment to query: Tool to run online SQL queries over Full Merit Data.

Weekly update, we have an up after the sources recharge, still very low.
Are there any statistics for local boards?
I'm confused because there are a lot of valuable posts but I do not want to rank-up some accounts "which make more than 10 good/ high-quality posts" based on my assessment "send more than 10 merits to one user/10 posts"
