Your comment would have been valid if we were talking about English language.

Probably you didn't notice that the posts I am presenting are written in Greek and as I can guess Theymos doesn't speak Greek...

Thanks anyways
Still you need to follow the method what theymos asked to be apply as a merit source, maybe he can appoint you as merit source after discussing with the staff member who can understand greek.

Just quote all the ten posts and explain why you want to merit those 10 posts if you can. Smiley

Thank you all for your suggestions and comments

i followed them and posted the 10 required quality posts

You are supposed to quote them in this thread:

2. Collect TEN posts written in the last couple of months by other people that have not received nearly enough merit for how good they are, and post quotes for them all in a new Meta thread. The point of this is to demonstrate your ability to give out merit usefully.

The reason why theymos asked the users to quote the posts in the Merit Source thread of theirs is so that he doesn't need to open each one of them one by one and check if they really meet his criteria of posts he want sources to demonstrate.
You can have a look at o_e_i_e_o's Merit Source Application as an example and see how he did it.

Common courtesy is to delete your previous bumps, then your thread doesn't look messy. If I had to guess,

It's not only courtesy, it's also in the forums' list of unofficial rules and does make a thread look more organized
21. Old bumps should be deleted. [2]

Theymos sometimes can be quick in appointing merit sources, but if for some reason you are not chosen, then you improve your meriting habits and get more active to become a more established member on the forum.

Up for this thread. I do not really know this guy personally and it seems he/she is not active lately in this section.

I just want the admin to add more merit source so as to get more chance on getting merit on posts that are not considered shitposts. It will be a real help to someone users like me that is not really that good in English and just trying to make up here to learn more and at the same to earn by promoting projects. My one and only concern about were the scammers. A lot of project were scam that this forum has introduces in the altcoin sections. I know admin knows about this but there is no action being done. Is there any ways that the activities of scamming will be minimize? A lot of investors lately had gone mad because of scam projects in that section.

Anyway, back to this guy merit source application will be wishing you OP to get appointed and may your smerits of love be spread.

I just bump the thread that is my way of support to OP.

Thanks for your comments Bill
Regarding the messy noticed of yours, i followed your advice and indeed, it looks better without those notes Wink

As for the part for the messages written in English, as I have already said, I provide Greek translations for the corresponding community and my available time goes especially to this piece of work.

In addition, my applications consists mainly for the Greek forum, following Theymos original post for local merit sources and at last, it would be nice if an admin of even better Theymos to spend 30'' of his time by sending me a message so I do not tire the forum with my bumping messages Undecided

I just insist on my request because there are only 2-3 people still posting nowadays in the Greek section...
Maybe some merits will give them some trigger for more action

I do not speak Greek and since I am giving my opinion please understand that I am limited to your posts which are in English. From what I can see, you are pretty low-quality poster, but I haven't done an extraordinarily deep dive. I just breezed through a couple pages of your recent English posts, and they are unimpressive to say the least.

I am bumping this thread

bumping...

i am bumping this thread...

Common courtesy is to delete your previous bumps, then your thread doesn't look messy. If I had to guess, Theymos is aware of your application and you will be informed if you are chosen. As far as I know, you are not informed once your application has been seen, reviewed, rejected, etc. Just become a more informed member and continue to participate in meaningful ways with the community.

Since many months have past from starting this application, I am sad to say that my predictions, mentioned in the first post, regarding the gradual abandonment of the Greek local section, have actually happened.

Without saying anything more I re-apply for the merit source position especially for the Greek local section of this forum

My application is for the Greek section and the posts provided are also written in the same language
I don't think that Theymos can understand Greek and that's why I added a link and an abstract for each one

You are right, I agree... it make sense.

I guess you have to quote all the 10 posts here... not only providing links.

Quotes will be helpful since Theymos or staff members responsible will be able to read all the posts in one place. Better edit and replace the links with quotes.

Did you see the example of LoyceV application?

shahzadafzal, I suppose you can read and understand Greek for suggesting to quote the posts, am I correct?
Did you even try to open the links? I guess you didn't

My application is for the Greek section and the posts provided are also written in the same language

In regards to the request for the 10 required posts, I don't feel that I have to do them because we don't actually have any kind of spamming.
However, the distribution/awarding merit is absent.

Are you sure that there aren't enough merits being distributed in the Greek board?
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/where-the-merit-pours-3093768
As per the above link (slightly dated), the Greek board is doing better than boards like Indian and Romanian.

Even if an additional merit source has to be appointed, Theymos wouldn't appoint you if you do not point out 10 posts which haven't been merited enough. If there isn't spam, then it means less moderation is required, not more merit sources.

You might have good a chance becoming a merit source since theymos is concerned about sub-communities.

But first you have to follow the Theymos instructions properly.

2. Collect TEN posts written in the last couple of months by other people that have not received nearly enough merit for how good they are, and post quotes for them all in a new Meta thread. The point of this is to demonstrate your ability to give out merit usefully.

Select 10 posts from Greek community, which you think deserve merits and quote all those posts in this thread.

NOTE: Don't select spam posts, but some good quality and deserving posts.

For example take a look this merit source application by LoyceV

You don't have to provide posts that are spam, but ones that you think are worthy of merits. (ideally ones that are under merited) Your much more likely to get accepted if you actually make the effort of finding these posts, and show that you can identify suitable posts rather than just stating your desire to become a merit source.

I am a member of the Greek community of this forum in which I provide translations of new projects as a translator and have organized a group of three members for these kind of jobs.

Even though my post activity nowadays only focuses on translations services, I always have a complete image of all actions which occur in every category under the Greek section

Edit:
In regards to the request for the 10 required posts, I don't feel that I have to do them because we don't actually have any kind of spamming.

The ten most recent quality posts & threads which provide knowledge and troubleshooting on different matters:
1. Detailed instructions on how to create a Mining Rig. From the implementation of the RIG to the installation of the wallet
2. A continuous thread from December 16' till today regarding the Lighting Network
3. An analysis in numbers about the bump of January with the intent to show which of these coins were the most resistant and their course until today.
4. Updated list on claiming BTC forks.
5. Updated list on scamming projects taking action in Greece and also worldwide.
6. This particular thread is actually providing very useful and interesting information on how to handle crypto assets regarding the Greek IRS
7. A post under the previous thread. This particular member is an expert in TAX-related issues and provides answers to multiple questions
8. Same as the above for different subjects
9. Provides information and some answers to OP's questions in the the theory on how new BTC coins are created
10. He tries to help ending a daily fight between two members (for BTC and BCH) and with his written skills he succeeds it

The older members are mostly not using this new system at all and the new members are losing their options to get involved and get respect from the entire forum in several aspects.

The above is one of the reasons that statically speaking, the Greek section is losing its "power" day by day and the post activity/participation gradually decreases

For all the above reasons I declare my desire to become a merit source by adding a brick in the awakening of my community
