In my opinion you are very good candidate and deserve answer from admins.
Please don't give up, as I see many people support you here.

Because you concentrate only on bounty campaign, that's why you had not received any merit still now. In order to earn merit you have to make constructive and useful topic. Otherwise you can't expect merit on your bounty reports. Bounty report isn't consider even as a good post. So try to improve your posting behaviour and try to contribute yourself.

I also had to wait several months before my application for merit source theymos finally accepted.
So, don't loose hope.

You are one of the good candidate to be a merit source for sure,but it looks like theymos didn't add any merit sources in the recent days.So I feels he is not interested to add anymore unless there is in need.

Wondering why you are still not on the list, I think you should be there. You are active and I think you are putting merit on deserving posts (except 1 fact, lol). Maybe theymos didn't notice your application on last source implementation.

Yeah I am in full agreement actually. Of course persons can not be expected to find every good post then work out where to give merits. So I think it is good to not have people that are all in close circles to each other and share views because then only the same posts will attract merit.

The best way would be

1. make a set of criteria that each person applies to the posts they review
2. make a very wide set of merit sources a lot from the alt boards too

actually if you had a strict set of criteria that removed subjectivity as much as possible it would not matter who was the merit source because only the post would determine the merit awarded so it would be very fair. Of course still you should have a wide spectrum concerning areas of interest because we should aim to give all post the same opportunity of review.

However I think most people should favour a fair system like this that is why I can not understand the resistance to it from those that already have the most merit. Just create a fair system that can not be gamed. I can not see why such strong hate for this idea.

The same goes for DT - fair system that brings in the most trustworthy persons.

Anyway yes don't want to go off topic but now I do not support his merit source application because we need to broaden it to other areas of the board as much as possible. Find some old legends who make great posts and that are fair and give them merit source.

Also tell them never to come to meta and get involved in a war so no need to take sides just give merit to posts they think are deserving.

Or of course bring strict criteria for merit worthy posts (which i was trying to define in my what makes a valuable post thread) and then anyone can be a merit source until they don't stick to the criteria.

Well, I can see your concern. However, we are getting a bit off topic for this thread. However, anyone is welcome to apply to become a merit source. However, theymos does also just recruit people. That's how I got to be a merit source.  I only cared very little about the forum politics until I was drawn into meta, since many of the threads are about the merit system and I want to see what other people consider to be a good way to distribute merits. Of course, I am not perfect at the task and only venture in the boards that I am interested in. However, I have expanded my horizons quite a bit since being made a merit source and continue to expand. Unfortunately, there is only so much that I can read in a day.

That could be a problem. This is why merit can never really be treated as a valuable metric. I mean imagine that we even introduced strict criteria for giving merit. That would be a HUGE upgrade to merit. However we still have the HUGE issue of making sure everyones posts get fair review or opportunity for merit. That has been my major gripe with merit being used for anything other than holding back account farmers and bots.  You simply can not relate merit to trust it is not at all possible and has broken the entire system.

This is why theymos needs to stop making merit sources that are closely connected and give it to lots of unconnected persons like very great posters from the alt boards. Really I believe the most users are from the alt boards. So you need lots of dedicated merit sources that are also given criteria for giving out merits. I only ask for what is fair nothing more. I do not request ever to be DT or merit source myself. However lots of the older legends that are incredibly smart and respectable should be on DT and merit sources themselves. You need a broad spectrum but all must stick to a fair criteria that is applied fairly to all posters.

Well, perhaps the next time Theymos determines who should be new merit sources, he should pick some distinguished regulars that post on the altcoin boards. The problem with this though is most people are only interested in a limited set of altcoins. If at all. So the selected merit source would probably only distribute their merits in the threads talking about the coins they are either interested in or have serious concerns with.

Imagine though that post has more earned merit that gjhiggins smooth, david zimbeck and 100's of other great legends that have earned in total. Please get serious.

No way should you be a merit source. Let's get some of the older legends on to being merit sources that have made huge contributions here.

I support to add Coolcryptovator as a new merit source for the forum.
That guy is a self-made Senior member, and also added into list of DT1 members.
Additionally, days ago, that guy published the topic:
Alt of DuckDice.io which was tagged for scam
Fastly warned that DuckDice.io is a scam one for community.

I just knew it by now as well, he was the most generous merit sender here in the forum but his action for giving away 150 merits for just posting first is really a mistake. I just wish the forum will give him another chance to prove himself maybe he won't be careless the second time around.

Anyways I am in support of Coolcryptovator being a merit source here in the forum. Not only he post great but also he is a good scam hunter in the forum, he had cleaned up the Altcoins section from various scams now.

Yeah, I think its just catching him at the right time. All of my interactions with theymos have been under 24 hours including my application for a merit source. I guess I'm just really good at catching him at the right time.

I support Coolcryptovator as a source of merit too. He contributes a lot with his various useful posts. In addition, there are many messages from him that warn us about scams. I am an assiduous reader of his posts

When did he get removed?  Was it mentioned in a thread of its own or did I just miss it in another thread?  I'm not trying to derail this thread--and I've already lent my support to Coolcryptovator--but I don't want to make a new thread just about that.  

I don't know why he got removed as a source, but I think he was far too liberal handing out merits.  It was something like 10-20 merits per post that he'd hand out, and while there may be some posts deserving of that amount I think it was way too much.  

Sounds like there's an opening, then.  May the best man/woman win if Theymos decides to replace QA.  Good luck, Coolcryptovator.

With QuestionAuthority removed as Merit source, we are reduced by 1000 source Merits. I guess we can get 5-10 Merit sources added for this purpose.
Merit circulation is currently low, might more hands in distributing them might increase their circulations.

I support Coolcryptovator to be a merit source. We do not have enough merit sources. I recognize him as a "established member" of the bitcoin forum

I wouldn't worry about that: it took me 3 months, many endorsements and almost daily bumping to get a (positive) response from theymos.

I like and support OP's application! OP does a good job in hunting down scammers and cheaters and contributes to the forum a lot. The posts in Scam Accusations and Reputation require often a very detailed research and much time to work out the proof that something is a scam or some accounts are cheating.
Based on this effort to make such reports, these posts are heavily undermerited and I'm sure more people would report scams or cheaters if they get a reward in Merit.

I hope OP will be listed as a merit source and in my opinion it's no problem that OP is only Full Member. Some Legendaries are Legendaries, but have not received more than a dozen merits...

I support your merit source application after seeing some of your merited posts and threads. They are quite amusing to read and very informative at the same time. I just wonder how enthusiastic you are when it comes to posting on this forum for you were able to take some time and effort on the making of the merited posts. Thus, we may consider fundamentals on one to become  merit source.

However, theymos would consider a legendary rank (highest rank in this forum) to become a merit source. One may be qualified to become a merit source but if I am a the admin of this forum then definitely I would consider those legendary rank members. There were members with legendary rank also that were applying to become a  for merit source and this may be favorable to them.

Legendary rank has the bigger chance to become a merit source. One should consider to wait for a while and there will be a time for it to become one. Again, I support your application but for the mean time just be patient for there will be a time for you to become a merit source one day especially if theymos does not satisfied with the works of legendary rank as a merit source in this forum.

I wouldn’t bump this thread more often than once a month or so. It makes you look too anxious and that’s not good for your application. I haven’t bumped mine since I applied and I’ll wait a bit more because I think theymos is not in a hurry.

No, I don't frequent any local boards. There is no local board for my country. Although there is pin post but I don't like to reply due to lots of spammer. I don't like to mention my native community. Reason is, as you know I have exposed lots of corruption like bounty cheater, scammer, spammers, Plagiarizer and merit abuser. Few user also got permaban. some of them are also from my native community. If I reply on my native post, obviously they will try to abuse me by bad language. And I am sure most of member will beg for merits. I already saw happening with few members. Personally I don't like corruption even offline, so no excuse even they are from my native community. That's why I really hide from my native community. I like prevent corruption from this forum, whoever and whatever. I will never bother on my native community. I want to continue my work like I did from beginning. I really want to help whole community what is possible by me. Although I haven't contribute much but I will try my best.

Coolcryptovator, you're relatively new and I'm skeptical about anyone trying to make a name for himself so quickly--there have been instances like KeithBeeCham who've turned out to be not so savory, and even mdayonliner has now earned some negative feedback--but I don't get the feeling you're trying to abuse the system, and in any case if you somehow decided you wanted to trade merits it wouldn't be long before you were caught. 

It's not something that's super profitable (AFAIK) or easy to conceal.  In addition, I think you know what a good post should look like.  So yeah, I'd support your application.

Do you frequent any of the local boards, by any chance?  I really think there need to be more merit sources there to reward people who can't necessarily make great posts in English but might make some brilliant ones in their native language.

In any case, your desire and your whole they are noble. I only support you in your choice. In fact, you are willing to spend all my free time and do the main task, to help the forum. On your part, this is a great responsibility, which, unfortunately, not everyone can assume. Usually such people need to be encouraged and given career growth. Good luck buddy.

Just want to share a lil bit idea about #4's topic. It was good and i read it well, the thread really deserves to receive merit. I'm familiar with python/anaconda/spyder, these are the languages that I'm using to generate codes and in the programming class.  

We will support you to be a Merit source. You have been fighting scams very hard and you are also giving merits to those that deserve motivating the community to fight scams.  You have created many interesting topics to help find scams.  We wish you good luck and we hope you can become a Merit source.

No, I don't think I am better than from you. You applied before me, I assume you should first if theymos want to add more. I know theymos added 36 merit source recently. It's doesn't mean he will not add more if there is decent candidate. Merit source is for help forum, not for ourselves. I expect theymos will consider this case since my smerit 00 currently.

Maybe if another feature about the merit system will be implemented then theymos will add new merit sources??

I suppose you will be added as a merit source at some point, you have been earning merits at a faster pace than your activity, you have reported a lot, you try to fight spam and scam. It looks good to me. Better than my application I’d say.
