It's still not that popular at the moment because what's going viral right now is NFT not Meta even though Meta is being developed and it will be very possible to advance in this year as well as next year as well.
But for now I don't see a bright future for meta and the like because it's not fully developed yet.

When people talk about meta it always connected to NFT because it probably NFT that will be used as a tradable thing in the metaverse, but i doubt it will come in near future because if the metaverse want to connect each other between platforms, means it will need a super mega server integrated all around the world and it's not going to happen soon.
I think if people launch a metaverse but not integrated to other metaverse, the hype will not that big and the demand is also just for the fans of the platform itself

Even if metaverse turns out becoming a bubble in 4-5 years coming metaverse could still be part of a more modernized world and probably could still exist and still living.
There are quite many companies deemed as just merely a bubble in the past meanwhile regardless they could still make it this far and even some of them become a giant companies.
Metaverses will still innovating further and further even if most of the metaverse based tokens are falling in price because they are set for long term development based from most of their roadmaps. The problem is people are impatience to see the result from the development progress of metaverse project.Crypto was just a bubble and anything on it was also bubble. Defi, NFT, metaverse even meme tokens. All of things in crypto were bubble. You can't deny this

It seems like there will be no different. The metaverse in the crypto will be also become centralized. Remember that the blockchain act as a way to develop the economic in the metaverse but it will be centralized as it will be fully controlled by the developers. It will not stand alone like bitcoin or any other centralized cryptocurrency. The blockchain itself will be playing only to secure the NFT assets that will be used in the metaverse ecosystem but im sure that facebook will not be using blockchain for this and facebook will have another solution for this but it will remain centralized.
Facebook is also poaching the developers from the various companies to develop its meta metaverse.

You have to realize that Mark has talked about many things before and never really made any of that into reality. Doesn't mean that whatever facebook is cooking in the metaverse will not be true, it could very well happen and they could make a lot of profits by building their own metaverse, but that doesn't have to happen any time soon.

We have talked about him building something like Jarvis (from marvel movies), we have seen him talk about something like a stablecoin, and now we are seeing him talk about metaverse just because they changed their name to meta. None of these really mean anything when you consider the fact that all you have to do is wait for them to actually build it before you get hyped about it and not get hyped even before they have a beta release.

i believe some metervase projects where already in the market before facebook made their announcement, the point is, there is always a beginning, it is true not all of this different trend will succeed but it is possible some of them will make it and be around as long as people uses this services.

Not because FB change his name to Meta does it mean that it is the one who started the trend, metaverse were already started to hype before the facebook changed its name. As you can see people see that metaverse is the next big thing especially in technology and a big company like facebook will be onto it and yes the Metaverse will be the next hype and will be a good project in the future.

Maybe Metaverse is the future, but it still needs to develop to have a better future. Meta can be bigger but as I said before, it needs more things to prepare and introduce to many people because it is a transition from the existing way that people already did into something that will look different than what they used before. It will not be the same as their experience before and that can change their life into a digital life so we still need to wait until it is ready to use globally.
