That's the price North America and other European "safe havens" have to pay for acting as custodians for the rest of the world. I mean we all know what the US has done to other parts of the world when it comes to wars, invasions, "peace keeping missions", "aid", economic manipulations, sanctions and control, etc

Obviously, the natives of those affected areas will try to seek from greener Pastures in the US and Europe. Maybe if the US had decided to mind their business back in the day and not act like Father and Mother of the Globe and been like North Korea or China, they wouldn't be having much of that problem  Grin
Our country is overrun by armed militias and militants. Why? Because some set of nations felt that Muammar Gaddafi was becoming too proud. Without considering the effect of war on the people, some world powers conspired and destroyed Libya. Today, that country is now a haven for militants and jihadists. These heavily armed men have been waging war with our military for nearly a decade, and many people have lost their lives and properties. Many have been displaced and become traumatized. And when we seek help from these nations that caused these problems they call us lazy criminals.

But average people aren't in favor of being world custodians. And if they understood how it was destroying their freedom and economy, they would be dead set against it. (They are starting to understand.)

Trump will change a lot of it back to 'back in the day'.

Cool
But the average people are also benefiting from the spoils of war. The reconstruction contracts and the shady oil deals in most destabilized nations are used for the good of all. Trump should fix all the problems that the US and its allies have caused and the rate of migrants from many countries will reduce.

That’s terrible, Mexico has some truly wonderful areas to be but this is a reminder of how dangerous it can be there. The cartels are extremely dangerous but usually you don’t find trouble with them if you are just a regular citizen. There aren’t any details on it but I wonder if the Mayor was getting in the cartels way of business.

And Biden is letting all kinds of people from other countries into America. And Cabala is just the same... or worse.
Because America had no criminals in the past, and now the "immigrants" getting into the country are all criminals?  Grin

It is easier and more inflammatory to talk about crime from Mexico than talking about local crime in the United States, because there are very different criminal cultures in both countries,.they are different from one another. In the USA, anyone commiting a crime would try to stay low profile and hide from police and law enforcement as long as possible, so they can avoid going to prison, obviously.
In the case of Mexico, it is different. Those assassinations are supposed to be warnings and a demonstration on what likely is going to happen to those who dare to oppose drug Lords in Mexico. There are no drug Lords in the United States, only distributors, so crime works in a very different fashion.

Also, amplifying criminal acts committed by immigrants seems to have turned into a viable political strategy in this presidential race, it won't appeal to many people but it will certainly fire up the Maga crowd.

The US has always allowed people in from other countries. There are migrant workers from Mexico all over the place. Questions are:
- To what extent are they being monitored when they cross the border?
- Are they being prosecuted properly when they act criminally?
- Why are many of them receiving so much monetary help when other people in the nation are living in poverty?
- Why are they being invited in? - for political reasons?
- Why are they being allowed to vote?, something that has never been done in the past, and is not right... should be considered election interference the way they are being used in the voting process.
- Why are loads of them being dropped in certain areas?, like the 20,000 that were dropped in Springfield.

There are many other questions like these, like questions related to diseases they might be bringing in... like Covid.

The simple assassination that is in the OP shows that there might be a lot of criminal activity coming in with these folks. Seems that drug cartels are being 'invited' in by the current administration.

Anyway, don't get me wrong, I am no Biden fan, but such a thing can happen anywhere in the world at any time. Mexico has been that place that has had problems related to drug cartels for decades and I don't think it will end any time soon because money and gun are involved.

Sad news. It can happen anywhere even in the US. The two assassination attempts on the Republican Presidential candidate, Donald Trump, were not carried out by Mexicans but by traditional Americas. You wouldn't generalize that because a mayor was shot by drug cartel, then all Mexicans moving to the US are criminals. There are criminals in all countries of the world, which is why one of the documents for visa application is a police report that shows that such an applicant has no connection with crime.

Oh yes, it's a sad news to experience but the truth remains that this can happen anywhere including in the USA. As a matter of fact, Donald Trump have narrowly escaped murder attempts for the second time which occurred during his recent political campaign rally. There are also incidents of Republican politicians like Scalise Steve who was shot in 2017 and another attack on Pelosi's husband which occurred in 2022. So it will be inaccurate for the OP to make such conclusions yet.

What I can say alternatively is that the political violence in the Mexican country is mostly associated with the drug cartels and other sheddy business umpires thriving in the country. Making it quiet mandatory for politicians in the Mexico country to attach more intelligence to their team and become more security conscious about their dealings because this incident is just a signal to the next occupant of the same position as well as others to not lose their guards.

This guy should have considered assassinated presidents of the US... and those that have been shot at. Even Trump has a bullet resistant shield in place during some of his rallies.

Well this is obviously disgusting and very disturbing news coming from Mexico, even though cartel violence is a relatively common thing there, sadly. It would seem to me this specific politician had very strong convictions against the illegal trade and possession of drugs, which were completely contrary to the business of the local cartel, so it was decided he had to go, for the business to continue with no friction in his jurisdiction.
The fact they left his head on the top of his vehicle was because the whole thing was supposed to sever as some kind of warning against other regional politicians who dared to do against the will of cartels... May he rest on peace

Historically, the US has always been a friendly country for refugees and those fleeing violence, racial discrimination and political oppression. I don't think any government can stop this flow because even the US has been structured to accept them.

Funny how people that think they have their own opinions on politics are just regurgitating talking points at the behest of the ultra-powerful. They are unwitting mental slaves.

"Lawless Narco-State": Mexican Mayor Decapitated Just Six Days Into Office

https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/lawless-narco-state-mexican-mayor-decapitated-just-six-days-office
The severed head of a newly elected mayor in southern Mexico was found on top of his vehicle just six days into his tenure. Footage of the gruesome scene was shared on X, highlighting Mexico as a lawless narco-state run by ultra-violent cartels.

On Sept. 30, Alejandro Arcos was sworn in as the mayor of Chilpancingo, the capital and second-largest city of the Mexican state of Guerrero. The newly elected mayor didn't even last a week because, on Sunday, he was assassinated, with his head severed and placed on the top of the vehicle as a reminder to local government officials that cartels run the show.
