Yes it is right, you can buy at microsoft with bitcoin at the moment, but it only means that you can buy their stuff, like tshirts, some stuff for your computer, their gadgets and software.. etc.
there is nothing new with that because you were able to buy the same stuff in other websites like amazon, ebay, etc, only that without bitcoin. Just wait guys, maybe those are going to be huge times for bitcoins.

You read the caveat "When you redeem Bitcoin to deposit funds into your Microsoft account, you can use it to purchase games, movies, and apps in the Windows and Xbox stores. You cannot use these funds to purchase items in the Microsoft online store."
Regardless this is a great news that tech giants are encouraging Bitcoin adoption. i understand that they even funded the seed capital for Cindicator (Hybrid intelligence) project.

Not too many big companies are accepting it. Microsoft isn't accepting it for most of their products. Amazon is rumored to be considering it but until the likes of these big companies do then we'll have to rely on bitcoin being traded between users and local trades
Not to let you down guys but the last time I spoke with Microsoft support, they told me that Bitcoin payment method is only available for U.S residents IIRC and will be removed from them soon.

Well this a good thing that even microsoft now recognizes bitcoin as payment options, other bitcoin users now can easily interact microsoft's products also well have the chance to increase there sales because of many bitcoin users that we'll be interested in buying or any customer services.

This is a very positive thing but the problem with paying in bitcoin is this: "Money added to your Microsoft account using Bitcoin can't be refunded. I don't know why we haven't the option to be refunded". Maybe it's because of constant price change of Bitcoin. But anyway, since a lot of gamers are using bitcoin we'll see that payment method be more popular.
That's a problem with the refund thing with bitcoin because you can never know if the price would still be the same, but at lease they are accepting in buying things, games and stuff using bitcoin directly for transaction, I only wish Google would be the next to accept bitcoin in buying online with games or in games item so we will not need to use second option payment like Paymaya for transaction if that happen it will sure be convenient, but Paymaya would sure no like it,
