Bitcoin is an asset for MicroStrategy companies but probably not for Microsoft. That's because they worry too much about its nature of volatility which could be considered as a threat to their operational liquidity. So it's not surprising that the Microsoft boards are even convincing the shareholders to vote against bitcoin, which we can't guarantee also that all the shareholders will follow.

Just like Michael Saylor from MicroStrategy, bitcoin is an asset that could hedge inflation, and I think that some of the Microsoft shareholders will definitely agree on it and see bitcoin as a worthy investment. So there's still chances for bitcoin to win in the voting soon.

Bitcoiners are usually pro-linux and it's funny seeing them buying Microsoft shares. I don't like the idea of buying Microsoft shares because it makes Microsoft stronger and if such a centralized company invests in Bitcoin, that will only pump the price, there will be no other benefit besides that. Price has the potential to pump without Microsoft buying it because we had halving this spring. In terms of investment, it will be better if Microsoft invests in Bitcoin when the bubble busts because that will help the price to recover quickly and will be a good help for investors.

By the way, isn't it stupid shareholder of Microsoft vote against Bitcoin investment? This will only financially benefit the company. I have no idea what's in their minds.

If a company as huge as MS invests in bitcoin it will have a domino effect and give the green light to all the other
Fortune 500 companies to start investing in bitcoin as well. The domino effect would be insane.

MS board members are crazy to not understand how the domino effect would serve to pump their bags massively.

Bitcoin would likely be well over $100k in price years ago if crazy Elon didn't do a total 180 on bitcoin back in 2021.
Tesla would be worth double what it is now due to bitcoin appreciation if it weren't for his crazy behavior.
Yet bitcoin isn't doing bad at the moment or is it? In bitcoin investment every positive decision one takes will benefit the person directly more than it will benefit others. Likewise every bad decision taken will affect you more as well. If MS decides to invest in bitcoin better for them, if they don't their loss. If they embrace bitcoin they will profit from it. If they don't they will watch other keep profiting from it. Either ways I think I can cope very well.

I will buy shares of Microsoft so I can vote yes to the bitcoin proposal. I suggest every bitcoiner do the same if possible and even better if you already own shares of the company. One share of common stock is equal to one vote so you don't have to own a lot of shares to be elgible to vote but I don't know how long you have to be a shareholder if the vote is being held in less than two months on December 10.

I think the chances of approval are not very high but you never know. Of course it would be beyond massive for bitcoin if they voted yes.

It would have a positive effect in the end if the cards are played right, however, I don't think it would matter much in the end, but everybody can try it and hope for a better percentage for the decision to be approved  Grin
You could buy the shares if you have an interest in Microsoft. If it is for the vote, major shareholders have already decided to vote against investing in Bitcoin, and your votes might make no impact.

So that means they don't have confidence towards bitcoins potential growth as of this moment and majority of them just want to focus on artificial intelligence. Well what we can only say towards that possible decision is provably they would regret later on that they say No to bitcoin in future, if they finally drop no votes towards that plan.
Artificial intelligence seems to be very profitable and many big firms prefer to invest in it. Each day new tools are been invented and used in different sectors. Many of these investors might not be patient enough to wait for a long-term investment like Bitcoin to mature. AI will give them quick returns.

73% of Microsoft stock is held by large institutional investors:
https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/MSFT/holders/

Vanguard between their Mutual Funds and regular holdings control over 16%

You can buy and vote anyway you want, it's not going to matter.

Also, it may or may not go against their corporate charter. It's a bit vague over what they can hold in lieu of cash. But that is was lawyers were invented for, they can figure that out.

Why does it seem like we voting for the survival of Bitcoin.
With or without Microsoft adoption, Bitcoin still remains.
It isn't a priority but it's not a bad thing if it's voted yes.
When have the public votes really mattered, they are all just formalities
The main decisions are taking place behind the scene.

Maybe these companies will have a strong voice in the decision, and maybe even small shareholders will realize that Bitcoin can bring them profit. Should the decision be positive, it would definitely affect the price of BTC, because people would take it as a really big deal.
Big share holders in Microsoft Board Members have biggest powerful voices in any vote, and if they don't want to invest in Bitcoin, they will vote against (veto) this idea. Small share holders can raise their voices through votes that mean nothing to decide the company decision to invest in Bitcoin.

If Microsoft or any Big Tech invests money in Bitcoin, it will be great news for Bitcoin community as it shows Bitcoin adoption again shifts upward more considerably. Nevertheless, they will consider it as a risky investment and will assign very small part of company treasury for this investment. I don't expect many companies from Big Tech will copy MicroStrategy to use company treasury for Bitcoin investment, raise fund for investment, and borrow money for investment in Bitcoin.

If small shareholders are not happy with this vote result, they can sell their shares and use money to invest in Bitcoin individually.

But unfortunately majority of its shareholders still skeptical towards bitcoin read this.

Quote
Microsoft’s board is leaning towards a “no” vote, asserting they already “evaluate a wide range of investable assets,” including Bitcoin. This decision echoes their current investment strategy focused on artificial intelligence rather than blockchain technologies.

Read that information here. https://www.tipranks.com/news/microsoft-nasdaqmsft-shareholders-push-for-bitcoin-investment

I think buying shares to support the Bitcoin proposal is a solid move, even if the board is against it. A 'yes' vote could really make a big difference for Bitcoin! Every vote counts, so it's important to own shares before December 10. If enough of us rally together, we could really make an impact.
What do you think could happen to Microsoft and Bitcoin if the vote ends up being a 'yes' for the investment, especially given what the board thinks right now?

I wonder if we can expect that the shareholders could decide positively if the board calls them in advance to do the opposite?

IF? It has already decided on advising/recommending voting against every proposal passing the nominees and the audit!
It's in the letter they send to their investors:

Yup, start buying Microsoft shares now so they could use their money to buy Bitcoin and raise the price, as this would definitely be better than, wait a minute, buying Bitcoin directly with your own money and having the same effect and not risking ending up with Microsoft shares, a negative vote in the meeting and Bitcoin crashing after.
I wonder why people love to complicate things as much as possible!

I wonder if we can expect that the shareholders could decide positively if the board calls them in advance to do the opposite? It is one of those ways of "democracy" that gives you the illusion that you have the right to vote, while at the same time that vote means absolutely nothing. However, when viewed individually, the largest shareholders are companies such as Vanguard Group and Blackrock, which together own about 16% of the shares.

Maybe these companies will have a strong voice in the decision, and maybe even small shareholders will realize that Bitcoin can bring them profit. Should the decision be positive, it would definitely affect the price of BTC, because people would take it as a really big deal.
