OP was here before the merit system came about, but only by about 2 weeks.  I'd like to point out to him that the main reason Theymos created it was in response to the bullshit that OP described--and he's correct that bitcointalk is swamped with moronic threads.  Most of them are designed to give bounty shitposters easy questions to answer, as if posting here is a high school essay exam with a character minimum.  It's ridiculous.

When I see idiotic threads get started, I've been in the habit of putting the thread starter on ignore.  I have so many members on my ignore list that it sometimes amazes me that I'm able to see any posts at all--but the accounts just keep coming, and I can't put them on ignore fast enough.

OP, you might want to use the "ignore board" feature.  I have Bitcoin Discussion and a number of others on ignore, and it helps keep my unread threads feed relatively clean.

The truth is that spammers at bct will not care about your thoughts, mine or anyone else's. They just want to do the work they want to do and not follow the rules - until they are banned!
Bct has been around for more than 8 years, and 8 years is enough for this forum to get all the answers needed for every question (within the confines of the usual crypto world). Need to know something - they just have to look for old posts on this forum - but they are too lazy to do so!
Technology is growing day by day, and now we have a deeper interest, more questions to discuss and finding the right answer. But that almost belongs to a handful of people who are really knowledgeable and experienced.
Those people are almost separated from at least 80% of the users of this forum - those who view bct as a place to make money. So you can not expect them to act like scientists. It's true!  Grin

Google.com is a way to know a lots of things. But if we found all and take all result from google then why we will use bitcointalk? The theme of the forum is to learn about crypto. So if someone have a question on their mind they can ask here. How you attack other users? I think you have no right to attack them such a way.
Yes,we have bitcointalk for discuss about cryptocurrencies but asking those kind of questions may not be acceptable. The answer for their questions maybe already available so they need to use the search option available for them then they will find the same thread with thousands of replies.

But most of the people creating those kind of threads with the intention of filling their weekly quota for their signature campaigns. Roll Eyes

We can report those kind of repetitive threads to the moderators and already I can see lot of those kinds of threads were moved by mods so keep reporting them.

Guys, I don't know how to start. After reading so many threads today I started thinking that " why some people have started their threads ?. Are they just joking ?. Don't they like to do  google search by them selves before asking some questions here ? etc. Because lots of threads have been started to ask like
Is this the end of crypto ?.
What should I do now ?
I'm panic by seeing the red market.
I lost $10 and now what I should do ? kind of posts.

Try it yourself. You will see lots of infant kind of questions. That kind of posts from newbies can be acceptable. But with even Jr members who have more than 200+, 300+ post counts ??. Guys, you have come here after studying the crypto at least for 1-2 hours. Bitcointalk is not your first start point ( at least for 90% people here ). So be professional. Don't ask silly questions that doesn't make any sense. Also before asking any question here take a look at google first. Don't cry by seeing the market goes up and down. First understand it is normal. I think you can understand what I mean by this post. This is just my personal idea. Have a happy forum time  Smiley
