I am completely new to this mining lesson and have not even started yet.  Is that possible to mine bitcoin with a high-end laptop or a pc?  have anyone tried it and is that profitable?
You should not mine bitcoins on a laptop. Try exploring NiceHash, 2Miners and other services that were collected in a separate topic by safar1980.

You need to install the application and you will receive a reward in bitcoins for mining other profitable coins. This is the best option if you don't mind overheating your laptop.

Instead of waiting for answers, you can refer to this thread : Bitcoin mining on a laptop in 2024

Still let me give you my opinion, Bitcoin mining with GPU is not possible anymore so you can choose the altcoins which is still mineable but it's like hitting a lottery you have to mine random shitcoin and expect it to have value in the future.

I won't recommend wasting your time by doing this along with that you are putting your laptop at risk of getting bricked.

No. If you want to mine bitcoin, you need to read about ASICs which are the mining machines used for bitcoin mining since many years ago. If you mine with laptop, it will not be profitable for you because the CPU hashrate will be very small. You can research about Bitmain Antminers which can be a good start.
