Hate to say it, but I think we've been had ..
Sent this e-mail two days ago and no reply ..

=====

Hi Guys ..

Sure hope you aren't running a scam here ..
The "natives" are getting nervous if you haven't looked at your
two threads on Bit Coin Forum lately ..

Tis a shame really ..
The KnC plan B  could/would have been a good solution for everyone ..

1) You make 20% markup on the hardware
2) KnC takes their cut for hosting your/our Neptunes
3) You take 10% off the top after you get paid by KnC
4) Your 'shareholders' get what's left ..
5) Everyone makes a decent return ..

OR ..

You two? are enjoying yourselves in Sochi on our dime ..
never to be heard from again ..

Tell me I’m wrong ..

=====

I hate it when this kind of crap happens ..

Triff ..

I'm afraid the OR is the correct answer and I think they could have made money honestly too.

I hear you Sonny ..

But, how else does one get a shot at "first batch' +1TH/s ASICs ??

Cointerra's miners may hit the 'street' before the KnC Neptunes, but
I don't see anyone offering shares on terms as potentially attractive as what MinerShare is offering ..
There's value in mining NOW which I'm doing at a high cost per GH/s ( relative to what
MinerShare is selling GH's for ) via CEX.io ..

So, I figure I'll throw a few BTC at MinerShare and hope I haven't  incentivized a couple of Swedes
to abscond with my ( and other's ) "coin" and that they do in fact get the KnCs they ordered before they
become "doorstops" ..

It's all pretty much a crap shoot in BitCoin Land anyway ..
I just try and take/make a few calculated risks here and there ..
Hopefully MinerShare will be one that works out ..

Triff ..

Good luck to you.

But seriously, it is pretty hard to get profitability in bitcoin mining nowadays.
The difficulity is rising ~20% every 2 weeks, and this really kills the profit.

Just a friendly reminder, it is very unlikely the site can receive the knc neptune in mid-Feb, so the actual mining profit would be way lower than that "estimated payout per share".

"it appears that they take cc and paypal so if you go that route, you can protect yourself. "
if you choose this option, the order does not work...

Correct.  I noted that it was NOT possible to order via PayPal or Credit Card.  Sent them an email just for $hits and giggles.  Will see what they respond.

We however do support Skrill payments. You can use Skrill to pay by card (it will be some extra steps though as we are currently working on implementing the integrated payment). Skrill is a cheaper and more trusted when dealing with Bitcoin equipment.

We seem to have a very high demand for PayPal payments, therefore we just emailed them and we are currently awaiting their response regards our business. This is due to recent events of seized accounts that dealt with Bitcoin.

Technically we can provide PayPal and have the payment system already built. If you guys can provide with enough information for us to be sure that the funds will be safe on PayPal and how exactly their money-back guarantees work, we will accept it immediately.

Apart from that we have no problem to keep accepting Bitcoin and Skrill only as the demand high enough to meet our sales goals.

Please let us know where KnC states that they will be delivering late, we will be happy to update our estimations.

KnC is playing the same dishonest game that (almost) every other mining gear manufacturer is playing. The fact that you're propagating their ambiguity doesn't make you right, it merely makes you just as dishonest as they are.

But to be more specific. From this post:

Neptunes are still very much in the preliminary design phase. As much as the timeline will be reduced significantly in comparison to a standard engineering project at 20nm, if such exists, because this is absolute bleeding edge we want to be absolutely sure what we commit to silicon will ensure a successful product at the end. This initial phase will not be rushed.

That said we have completely re-written and optimised the RTL code. The Jupiter project was very much focused upon safe speed to market and the window of opportunity hashing power presented in this present finite period prior to significant competition. The Neptune project whilst adhering to aspects of the aforementioned must focus upon power consumption as it's primary trait if customers (you guys) will be able to compete successfully over a longer period. We know that we are reaching limits on standard household circuits, we want you to remain competitive w.r.t. the unfolding mining landscape and we are all to well aware that electricity costs will come into focus in the not too distant future.

So where we are now is that we have a working FPGA code and are in the process of testing that and tweaking any further refinements before it's submission.

If you're still promising people a February delivery date -- when KnC themselves say that they're still in the preliminary design phase -- then you are most assuredly acting in a dishonest (and fairly despicable) manner.

We'll if everything is true, that is a good price at the moment because that is the lowest price Ibknow of, and cex.io is currently about $40 a GH.

Our price with CEX.io is not directly comparable. They offer a different service. You earn money trading the hashing power instead of long-term mining. And of course, they do deliver instantaneous hashing power, although you cannot use it for profitable mining Smiley Not better, not worse, just different

The website was created 5 days ago, yet most of the share seems sold out. There is little details about the 2 men operation or how the hardware are stored. And no receipt, all they say is that they will pick up the hardware locally???

scam?

I understand your concerns. Our new brand is indeed a only few days old. However, prior to that we were a tiny mining operation amongst friends (http://mine.coinco.in , 15 - 20 people used it) - through which 2 of our Neptunes got sold out. We also plan to keep some shares to ourselves.

I wonder what start date they're using for their payout estimation. Seems that all indications are that Neptune batch #1 isn't shipping until Q2 2014, which makes ROI... unlikely. If the Neptunes started hashing today, then yeah -- I could see the payback. But that doesn't appear to be the case.

Isn't that somewhat dishonest?

Strike that. Par for the course around here.

Please let us know where KnC states that they will be delivering late, we will be happy to update our estimations.

For what it's worth, KnC sold out their #2 batch recently despite the rumor, so that could be a good indicator.

Best regards,
Minershare team
