And I suggested them contact the company (which happens to be one your linked to). But I would have suggested emailing any company that a payment was effected by it. So it was not meant as to be personal.

Malleability has rasied the Tx volume on the network and hence mining fee required to confirm a large Tx is higher now. This Tx is of size 3973 byte and fee paid is 0.00074202 BTC. But, according to www.cointape.com the rate right now is 90 satoshis/byte, i.e. this Tx would have confirmed by now if it paid 0.00357570 BTC. If the rate goes down and the Tx still remain in diff nodes, it'll eventually confirm. But, if it gets deleted from nodes, it requires to be re-broadcast.

If you didn't provide this answer for the OP, how would he/she ever find out that this payment failed and needed to be requested again?
Is it ever possible for a transaction to linger for hours or days (allowing the parties to set up the transaction again, thinking the first one failed) to find the original transaction finally go through? Seems like there's risk of a different kind of "double spending" in these scenarios...
