Imo pool 3 works really well. The huge N has a long spooling time, but after youre there its super.

To promote the pool 3:

DBIX3 fee 0.10% for some days

Nice! Thank you! Im moving two more rigs here.

Are you planning in capping the pools?
Absolutely not, the choice must be taken from the miners.

I think there is a too huge difference between the pools, if you raise dbix1 to 5000 or 10000 and lower dbix3 to 50000 it would split up a bit more

We will evaluate in the next few days  Wink

Either get more miners to dbix3, and/or reduce the N to the expected pool hashrate.

It is exactly my thoughts, I set such a high number of shares thinking of receiving a lot of hash, otherwise I had already thought of reducing it.... I would wait a few days  Wink

Also, I not make 3 pools for the competition but for network security, I prefer 3 pools with 200ghs each rather than 1 with 600ghs

We have increasing number of miners now joining DBIX1 i think just last monday the figure was around 950 and 4 days later 1800+ so almost doubled the figure now.

How to entice some of them to transfer to DBIX3 to match the N with the expected pool hashrate.

Right now DBIX is sitting on 600GHps already. You mentioned that you wanted to have 3 pools with controllable hashrate security. Are you planning in capping the pools?

guys where do you exchange your dbix coins?

dbix deposit got enabled then disabled again

my dbix coins doesn't get reflected in the balance

and support doesnt reply as well

Give them a few days. They were probably almost took a ddos of dbix-deposits the last few days, and i guess they are trying to figure it out.

Heres my calculation, regarding "The Perfect N" in pplNs. CMIIW.

First, we calculate the time needed to solve N-shares

T= N x share-difficulties/pool hashrate

for example:
Tdbix1 = 3000 x 2GH / 500 GHps = 12 seconds
Tdbix3 = 100000 x 2GH / 15 GHps = 3.7 hours

Ideally, you would want to participate on every N rounds. Because  it doesn't matter how much work and how many shares you have solved, the only shares counted are the N numbers before a block found.

You can calculate maximum worst time for a block to be found with: Difficulties/Pool Hashrate
On dbix1 that is: 106716/571 = 190 seconds.
On dbix3 that is: 106716/25 = 4268 seconds = +- 1.1 hour

That's on CURRENT condition.

The randomness of block time makes it difficult when to hop.

Your average time to solve a share is: Share difficulties/your hashrate

If you have 100 MH/s, your average time to solve a share is 2G/100MHps = 20 seconds.

As you can see there is already a mismatch between your window to solve a share and your time to solve it,

So the mission is to find at least 1 share for every N shares submitted, that way, you will have a better chance to participate on every block, and not getting too many shares discarded.

We can calculate the perfect N
Perfect N = (Share Difficulties/Your hashrate) x (Pool Hashrate/Share Difficulties)
<=>
Perfect N = Pool Hashrate/Your Hashrate

So for a 100 MH/s on dbix1, the perfect N is 500GHps/100MHps = 5000

But since the pool hashrate always changes, finding the right number for everyone is impossible.

What about dbix3?

We can calculate the minimum hash rate to participate efficiently with:
Your hashrate = Pool Hashrate / N = 15000 MHps / 100000 = 0.15 MH/s

If dbix3 has the same hashrate as dbix1:
Your hashrate = 500000/100000 = 5 MH/s

as we can see, N = 100000 is probably too big

So my recommendation would be:
Either get more miners to dbix3, and/or reduce the N to the expected pool hashrate.

This is so true!
Especially, there is no sense have 2 same type pools (dbix1 and dbix3) and compete with each other... Isn't better to rise last shares number from 3000 to 10.000 at first pool?

That probably means, the current shares found on N=3000, will be discarded when it change to 10k.

You do realize those shares are discarded 13 seconds after you find them, unless the pool finds a block, right?

A share is not worth anything unless its one of the last 3000 shares (in this case) found when the pool finds a block. When a block is found, the pool will look at who found the last 3000 shares and then distribute the block reward to those accounts. So if the last share you found was a share 4000 shares ago, you will nothing of the block reward, even tho you found a share 20 seconds before the block was hit.

I tried DBIX2 when it was just created. PPS seemed like a good and fair payout structure. But, because the pool's hashrate is so low, the payouts will always be too far between. Sure, you will get a bigger piece of the pie, but the pies will get delivered less often. With the PPLNS 3000, you are still getting paid regularly, just smaller pieces.

Also, consider that DBIX pool 1, 2, and 3 are all competing with each other to mine the block. if we are going to compete, it should be with other pools.

What is the alternative? Mine ether? Ethermine has PPLNS scheme. I dunno what their share threshold is, but it seems to be working fine.

Maybe 3000 is a bit too low. But, at the same time, DBIX pool is mining the majority of the blocks, so i plan to stay there. Guaranteed, regular payouts.

I agree. There really is not reason for a 200-500GH pool to run such a low N. A higher number isnt worse, nor better, for big miners... all it does it reduce variance, and especially for smaller miners. With N at 3000 and a pool hasrate of 500GH, roughly only the last 13 seconds worth of shares before a block is found are worth anything. The shares you got 14 seconds or earlier are not in play.

Imo, the best way would be to run a high number on pool 1, higher than 10k which would only take 45 seconds worth of shares in to account, and try to pool everyone in there. And then monitor and adjust N as the pool grows. This is what Ethermine does, and it works awesome. And everything else about this pool is working fantastic, payouts, latency, size etc.

dbix3 users, as soon as a block is found your stats will show, you are mining, just be paitent Smiley

exact..

Question: For the current hashrate of the pool of DBIX3 how long you think we can get a block? Stats says if lucky we can find at least per hour but I had 12hours already almost half a day but there was none. How can be the small miners be enticed instead we still stick for DBIX1.

The other guy is right what is the sense of competing pools that mine the same coin, right now big time miners dominates the pool. I am thanking you for bringing the idea of enticing small miners like me, but there should be a bracket on how do you define small miners

Sample (just my idea)
Micro Miners - 1-50mhs
Small miners - 200-400mhs
Big Miners - 400-1000mhs
Mega Miners - 1000+Mhs

Above bracket is not accurate but just an example of what I'm suggesting. Right now DBIX3 is a good venue for small miners if it will grow but soon it will also be flooded with those Mega miners.

Hello, im trying to mine DBIX with nicehash but i always get this log

Pool host: dbix.pool.sexy
Pool port: 7117

Establishing connection with pool 37.59.45.57:7117... OK
Sending eth_submitLogin... OK

Sending eth_getWork... OK

Can you fix that?

Dont worry, nicehash work fine.

I understand that transferring would be a lot of task for you as there are so many miners... since the news from livecoin not accepting pool payments i have already setup local wallet address and started mining again... but i still have 0.10582535 balance on dbix pool and  0.14758386 on dbix2 pool for my wallet 0x435d97873d3eafcdc866f143875e03cd4cf1470c from livecoin... or COULD YOU PLEASE RELEASE PAYMENTS THAT ARE LESS THAN 0.2 FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS SO THAT THOSE VALUES DON'T GO TO WASTE... although those balances are very small but for small miners like me it took almost 2 long days to mine them... it would be a great help if you released those remaining balances even if they are below the 0.2 limit, and can you please request livecoin to accept small balances like those for a few days....

For the moment I keep 0.2 min payouts, maybe in the future..I suggest you get to the min. payouts

Whats the definition of a small miner? Im rocking 300mh, would that be the suitable pool?

For you at moment 2 or 3 is better

I joined the dbix1 pool this morning and it started showing my hashrate for about 2 minutes, but the stats page is saying I haven't mined since even though I am earning shares. Can you please let me know if this is just a lag in the stats page or something wrong on my side? Thank you.
