Topic: missed the 42 train (Read 1117 times)
Hi I am new to mining. I mined on many pools but never tried solo mining. Can anyone help me how to solo mine? I know that it is not much profitable but I just want to learn for fun of it. I really wanted to try solo mining atleast once, but I could never figure out how to do it. Any help would be much appreciated. Also whenever I download a new coin qt wallet, there is a tab for mining, but solo mining never works in the wallet. Do I need to change any settings. Please help me with it.
I don't think that with my slow mining rig I was able to mine even 10E-8 of 42.
I've scraped up about 1.327E-5 today, with a pool and at around 8GH/s, but I got another 2 up and running, so It'll be at 10GH/s.
It's trading between 850 and 1200 BTC today (most sloping downward all day long). Time to point elsewhere I think, but I might hang on for another day or two just to see how it pans out, but it's getting almost impossible to mine with what I got.
At least there are a couple stable pools now making it doable.

Haha. It's currently travelling though Pumpshire ready to meet its destination at loserville in a couple of days.

I dont think so, difficulty varies very much and sometimes mining 42 is more profitable than others. And now still possible to solo mining!
I didn't missed the 42 train. But after riding on it for a little while. It is more profitable to mine other coins.

I read up on all this 42 business but didn't put much stock in it. Obviously wrong then

It will be interesting to see if it's sustainable....or if the rarity and difficulty ends up getting in it's own way.

I managed to scrape up some yesterday and the day before. Via pool. Today, pretty slow, had to beef up everything to remotely get anything.
