No, that's not the reason. It's fine if you just come to post your website news without looking to discuss with other members, even if it's sad considering we're on a discussion board, not a bookmarking website.

But it should not stop the person to follow the rules and post in the appropriate place. Personally, each time I reported the user it was for posting something unrelated to Bitcoin directly. If he started to explore a little more the forum he could find the appropriate boards to post.

I do admit the news posted are total shit.
Shit shit shit...
That's why I posted this topic last year and you can see I was mentioning Coinidolnews as an example

It really is stuff like this that keeps me on the few boards I do spend time in, and really not venture out into some other ones.
The crapfest that goes on with users never getting banned just makes you shake your head and go back to the Development & Technical Discussion board.

Stay safe.

The Press board isn't so active and bad apples are everywhere but it's one of the rare places where you can get a decent discussion with dudes

88 out of 89 posts deleted by mods - if that's not ban hammer material then I don't know what is.
All the posts that were made by the user have been deleted but what was surprising was that the profile wasn't nuked as I have observed in the past on profiles that spam continuously.

Maybe a spam ban is in effect as we can't tell it from Bpip.org

There is no other forum like bitcointalk that they could go to spam so they will spend every registration of users, so Theymos might also try raising/increments the fees for IP address that keeps registering new accounts.

Or as soon as they get caught spamming add their domain to a filter that removes the URL from their posts.
Unless they want to keep buying new domains it would fix the issue.

That's good enough reason to get this user perma ban for shilling/spewing crap in this community.

The question is what benefit does this community get from CoinIdol News?

Short answer is you don't get anything good with what CoinIdol is posting here in the press section. He basically just promote their website and the account itself doesn't engage in any kind of interaction with the people who post in his thread. I guess the deletion of their threads are in relation to that where CoinIdol's only purpose to post here in the forum is to promote their websites and not to contribute anything here in the forum, I mean all of their news are shit anyways that contain misleading headlines and recycled news and to top it all a thumbnail that will give you a good cringe.

The likes of coinidol will keep doing it even if we keep banning their accounts, with just one post of their links is enough for their website to get traffic which they find worth spamming the forum.  But with restrictions, they'd starting interacting the people here to build a relationship.

If anyone's curious: View all unedited (or and deleted) posts made by CoinIdol News.

This spambot is also using a homograph attack. Theymos converts those back to normal characters in the posts, but apparently it's still visible in Recent Posts (which is what I use for scraping).
Example of the raw HTML:
Code:
Bitcoin Price Surges to Over $7500, Stock Market Collapsed Along with wit Covid19 Cure Testing

Bitcoin surged to hit over $7,500. It is now trading at up to $7,546 at several cryptocurrency exchanges such as Upbit, Binance, KuCoin, Bithumb, and others. On the other hand, stock markets have been on the decline as institutional selling and coronavirus treatment development failed to prove.

It usually takes an age to get someone banned for spamming, but this is ridiculous.

For example, user JessicaVL was an almost identical Press Board spammer. After around 50 of her threads being trashed, and opening a thread about her (and others) in Meta, she was finally banned a month later.

CoinIdol News is much worse. I first flagged this account up back in April: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.54324789. Two threads a day, every day. Every single one of them trashed. 89 out of 89 threads trashed. 0 good posts. I have 21 good reports against him in the last two weeks.

I've asked in my Report Comment for him to be banned/nuked countless times. Nothing. I've asked for the mod(s) who are marking my reports as "good" to PM me and explain why he isn't being banned. Also nothing. I thought I might jump on the Discord channel and ask Cyrus if he could take a look at some point. It's such a colossal waste of everybody's time - there are at least 3 other people (not including myself) I know of who are reporting this bot's posts, and the moderators who have to handle the reports.

What good reason is there for not banning this bot?

The mods can ban them. If there are just the restrictions, they can just laugh out there without worries attending their offline duties and can probably build a treehouse of their kids than worrying about coinidols posts.  Everyone has their life outside the forum, I'd give importance to that than worrying spammers, unfortunately, I'm not in the position to do so.

Previously there was someone who kept plugging his site link and despite having his posts removed, he wasn't suspended. But then a plagiarized post from 2000  would then be a game over for another account.

I surely don't know how reported posts are assigned to mods or when they decide when to hand someone a ban due to spam but the moderator of the press board, jgarzik has been inactive since November 08, 2019
It could partially explain why @CoinIdolNews hasn't been banned yet due to spam

Requiring the new account to complete a number of posts before they can insert links may do it.
You do realize that some members register in the forum just to post a scam accusation, ask a query about a certain service or create an ANN. This will be unfavorable for them. Banning the culprits is the best solution.

Requiring the new account to complete a number of posts before they can insert links may do it. Some forums are adding this to their rules. There is no stopping them when they reach the number though but they will still get sanctioned if their contribution to the forum outweighs their violations.

They are going to spawn more here in the forum because its easy to hire someone these days who will work for $0.10 per successful link insertion.

CoinldolNews newest Spam post in the press board that will be deleted very soon, a temp ban for this user to "chill" imo.

How does it help or contribute to the original post?

What will it take to give a temp ban, or to do something to stop this? This user is constantly posting craps.  Moderator(s) can't say otherwise since 100% of his/her posts are deleted. But it doesn't stop him/her
It's like dogs, they shit on the street and act like if nothing happened.

When you have such a high ratio of deleted posts I believe it deserves moderation from another level. We're bored to report the posts again and again and again. I even stopped personally
