What is Moodcrawler?Let’s say you have a bad day. What would make things better? A cup of coffee? A walk in the park? A new bike? A trip to another city? Whatever it is, there’s someone out there who can give you exactly what you need to brighten up your day. And no, we are not talking about pictures of cats and motivational quotes from famous authors. We’re talking about hands down, practical stuff like meeting up and sharing a chocolate muffin at the corner coffee shop.
There is a solution to every problem, and the solution is human interaction.
SHARE YOUR MOOD!Bad mood anyone? Share it with our other mooders and a smile will be just around the corner. Maybe someone from the same neighborhood, city, country, continent, planet, galaxy can help you out. And the good thing is it works the other way around too: share your good mood by helping and supporting others in any way that you can. Buying someone a ticket to the movies goes a long way.
Having already launched the Alpha version of the site, Moodcrawler is looking to create a smart platform that works to brighten your mood. Working with psychologists that understand different cultures from around the world, the team is planning to build a system that can learn the unique way to turn your frown upside down.
INTRODUCING MOODCOINIf you had a nickel for every time you put a smile on someone’s face, well, that nickel would be a Mood Coin. Mood Coin is a way of saying thank you. It’s like baking a pie for a friendly neighbor. It is our community currency but we like to think is more than that. The fun part is that you can use these coins however you like, maybe buy one of our awesome to be t-shirts, or outside in the real world, or just keep them in your pocket for rainy days.
MOODREP Moodcrawler’s reputation reward system (MoodRep) is a reputation system that allows reputation to be built by changing people’s mood. The more reputable you are, the more moodcoins you will earn. Each time you will have a positive impact on someone’s mood, you will get a positive vote. Therefore, on a weekly basis the platform assign 1000 MDC (moodcoins) for the first 10 users with the highest moodrep score
Example: Mike was able to “mood up” 300 users. So at the end of week he has a moodrep rating of 300.
Consequently the platform collects the top 10 scores in descending order (from highest score to lowest) then spread those 1000 MDC using the following algorithm:
R=W (owm/T) where:
R= Reward;
W= Weekly reward= 1000 MDC (moodcoin);
owm= own weekly moodrating;
T= Total weekly moodrating for the first 10 mooders.
Long story short, this is the logic behind a typical weekly moodrep reward:
R=W(owm/T)= 1000(300/1140)= 263 MDC, where 1140 will be the sum of weekly moodrep for the first 10 users.
In other words, by changing the mood for 300 people, Boom, the platform just rewarded Mike with 263 MDC. Cool huh?
Development TeamGabriel Dumitriu - Project LeaderPersonally when I first heard about bitcoin I was skeptical, but I thought I had to keep an open mind, so I did some serious research, and by the end of my research I was convinced this was something that was going to become big. This was back in late 2012.
6 months later, I have registered russianbitcoin.com and that was the starting point for my bitcoin adventure.
I started evangelizing Bitcoin in November 2013, initiating a strong presence among my friends, colleagues and peers. I am still doing this along with development and promotional activities for Bitcoin related companies/ platforms. Once I have managed to reach my first Formula 1 race in Hungary- July 2014,using bitcoins, it became more clear to me that this is the path I want to follow.
I help companies and professionals understand and use bitcoin to grow their business.
