New updates are looking good/ Mooncoin one of the older cryptos , I really think it will eventually have a big mainstream appeal and adoption because of the supply, its closer to real currency amounts.

Greetings, friends at Mooncoin! As Komodo Platform has been working around the clock to fine-tune the multiple GUI's that are the face of our Agama multiwallet and BarterDEX atomic swap protocols, there have obviously been many bugs found and many debugged. However, one bug in particular was found not only in our Agama GUI wallet, but also in the zcash4mac GUI swing wallet. It is a simple bug, but it warrants your attention. This is a potential money cost bug, and as a Bitcoin-protocol cryptocurrency, your GUI wallet(s) may be susceptible. We are reaching out directly to the developers and communities of the 60+ coins featured on Agama and BarterDEX as the bug may have a direct impact on you (via your own wallet).

watchonly-GUI bug: 'watchonly' addresses appearing as your own in GUI wallet; users could potentially send funds to the address, unaware it is not theirs or available for withdrawal. You can import and it becomes a 'watchonly' address. The GUI will display the address as yours, add its funds to your balance, and accept deposits, but cannot be withdrawn. This could be a normal address, my address, a p2sh address, satoshi's address, etc. This can be confusing to an end-user and will lead to many headaches for the developer, as is always the case with misplaced funds.

FOUND: in Komodo Platform's Agama multiwallet (fixed) and zcash4mac GUI swing wallet (@jl777b: "newest QT wallet seems ok about watch only, but not sure of older and when it was fixed")

ex. @grewalsatinder found the bug in his zcash swing wallet: https://i.imgur.com/sVd0QTL.png

Quote from: jl777B
"satinder used zcash4mac, ie. the zcash osx GUI, not ours... the assumption is no GUI out there properly handles watch only addresses, until proven that they do... agama also had this bug, which we found and fixed, so it seems a very common bug to have"

SOLUTION: For the 'watchonly' address or any address not yours, the value 'ismine' returns false. Any such address gets filtered out.

QUESTIONS:
  • How does your recommended GUI deal with watchonly addresses?
  • Does your GUI display watchonly addresses as different than actual addresses in the wallet?

We need to experiment a bit to see which approach gets a better response triggering the bug. People WILL lose money if they send funds to a watchonly address.

Quote from: jl777B
"the t3 addresses in the 'Own Addresses' column! and they absolutely cant be as they are p2sh addresses. it is clear proof that the bug is very real and anybody that understands a p2sh address will understand it cant be something in your wallet. it is usually a multisig address, so only if it is a 1of1 multisig (possible but very silly) can you have a p2sh address that is spendable, but the wallet wont even know it... normal addresses can also be watchonly, which makes this even worse. in that case it would appear in the list of addresses just like all the others. even if you are able to spot p2sh addresses visually, it wont be enough"

I've been tasked with spreading awareness and facilitating discussion of this bug, so please let me know if you have any questions. I'll get you some answers and we can minimize the impact.

Oh thank that's cool. I understand you well now Smiley
So waiting for this weeked when you will finished and i will download it Wink Happy to hear this info  Grin

• I have detected something weird too. (may it will help)

When i have update from 10.5 to 0.13.9 and saved the new backup from the 0.13.9 wallet. Then i decided to refresh the install by erasing everything and install a  new fresh version 0.13.9 to test the back up .

When i install it. The wallet has open without problem dowloading the syncho, then i encrypt and closed. (working)
but when i have put it the back up of the 0.13.9 on the roaming app file the wallet make an error and cannot open it. (some windows error debug)
So i was worry about it.

I had to erase all files except peers, and then i paste the old wallet 10.5 on it.
then finally the wallet open and redownloading the chain with my correct ballanced.

I dont know why i got this bug.
May it could help someone or you can explain us if you have an idea about it (a bit strange bug that i had to fix by myself Wink

Best regard

It's tested and confirmed that wallet.dat backup works fine from 0.10.5 on 0.13.9.
when you changed the wallet to 0.13.9 the recommended method is to delete everything from mooncoin directory except your wallet.dat!

I found a bug in wallet about transactions.
Right now, the release v0.13.9 is not able to send coins because, of forbid txs. The wallet categorize all the outgoing and broadcasting transactions as forbidden transactions!
I fixed the code in github but i will have the executable files in release ready in weekend.
Also, the code is from original v0.13.3 so, the same issue is in this wallet.

Oh ya thank yes i had send you the pm to tell you thats we can't send coin with the v13.9.0 (original) Wink i detected this bug yesterday.

I Hope about this weekend the fixes, hope it will be easy to install and work Cheesy
I really like the new design and wallet ( Do your best)
Thank you for the update Vassilis!

If you already have the new wallet, you just download and replace the mooncoinWallet.exe in wallet directory!
No extra setups, no nothing complicate.
I will inform, when i will have ready new compiled release.

My account is limited yet, for that i couldn't reply to!

Guys, how to mine? I've updated wallet, sent to it coins from bleu.
Pressed "Start Mining", entered address and OK. What is next?

You must see a toggle monitor in "Overview" page.
If not confirm that you have in wallet directory a directory named "miner" and in there is the "minerd.exe".
For example:
wallet directory
 |
 --- miner
       |
       --- minerd.exe

If you don't have it, download it from our github https://github.com/mooncoincore/wallet/releases.
You will find with setups and exe list also, 2 cminer packages for 64 and 32 bit.
Extract, and copy paste the minerd.exe in wallet_directory\miner\.

The main difference between the wallet with and without the miner (as far i can see) is that one have a miner folder inside the walled working dir and one not

IMHO, when you install the wallet without the miner, you should not see the "start mining" button!, it's a bit confusing
