If we put aside the technology that is promised or it is already implemented (http://ftreporter.com/cryptocurrency-news-the-future-of-mooncoin/) there is one super cool advantage in moon. I think (it is my personal opinion of course and I don't need you to share my view) that micropayments that are offered is alone worth of having mooncoin.

First: If I send few million mooncoins to some address (for example exchange like nova), I pay 0.001 MOON/kB of fee's (at least that is a default fee set in wallet v0.10.50.0). This fee is neglectable. I am literally sending coins around for free.
Second: transactions are quite fast. With new algorithms they should improve even further.

So if i need to transfer my assets from one market to another (lets say I want to trade coin which is not on my current market and will get hot in few minutes - maybe 4chan hype is started) I can do it for "free" and quickly with moon (probably much faster than with other coins).

Also mooncoin can be traded for lots of hot new coins (at least novaexchange has a ton of them). If you have few millions mooncoins already bought you don't need to just wait for moon to go from 1 to 2, 3 ... satoshi. You can trade with other coins in the mean time. I think lots of people who are buying up to 10 million mooncoins here and there already do that for this purpose (again, just my opinion  Cheesy). Making their portfolio grow and not just lie dead in the walls up the satoshi chain.

What is the purpose of Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Mooncoin, etc? It is one and the same!
And is not get rich quick. I am sorry if you still not get it.

Of all the coins, I am glad this coin is surviving and still intact. That says volume and loyalty of its holders. At least we did not have to go through the ICO's Smiley

Mooncoin is one of the oldest coin in history that didn't make any changes on its value. And, i think that they lack on doing a marketing on this altcoin..

When the people have to wait they have a beard like Catweazle. This lasts and lasts and no news. A pity around the good old Mooncoin is still worth 1 Satoshi

Hi all,

I've managed to get back on top of things, after doing some freelance work for a while.
Everyone is quite keen for an update on things, so here we go:

Mooncoin 0.13 release is very stable.

Total resident memory usage under 75mb (whilst syncing chain).
Time from launching Mooncoin to being ready to use, in the case of a sync'd chain, has been halved (minimum).

Standard sync time from scratch to current blockheight is 34 minutes.
Due partially to 'headers first' functionality seen in late model codebases, but mainly optimized PoW validation during synchronization.

Extensive testing with the new Dual KGW3 difficulty retargetting algorithm. Probably the best i've worked with so far, especially the BitSend timeout feature (this will gradually drop the difficulty over time if a block has not been found in x minutes).

After a lot of testing; i'm not quite happy with the new custom PoW algorithm and it will be tweaked over the next few days, to ensure that: a GPU miner is not possible, botnets do not become an issue and also to guarantee protection against double-spend attacks. Recently HTML5 suffered a 'catastrophic' doublespend at Bleutrade, and I do not wish to ever see this occur with Mooncoin.

I've also decided that Moonlite will be a plug-in module, rather than in-wallet; meaning that the 0.13 release can be done earlier, and that development can be done on each independently, rather than one holding the other up.

I'd like to see the fork to the new algo/codebase before block 1,200,000; but this is up to the community to discuss.

james

James an update of this impending release would be most appreciated. You have received the raised funds in your honor via the community yet you are no where to be seen. The loyal Mooncoin holders sit patiently wait for updates, an eternity. Morality is questionable when these things happen.

Does anyone have any sense to cut the supplies and or do a swap so mooncoin can gain? This is sad to see this coin stuck at 1. Someone have some kind of common sense to get the coin off the ground. Geez

Good afternoon. Yes, there are ideas. But firstly, we are waiting the news from developers. Smiley

Well usually if a link is provided it is a common courtesy to provide a bit of surrounding text that elaborates its meaning or to at least put it a bit into the context.

So is a mooncoin going to get integrated into link platform? Smiley
