Thank you people for your good words,
yes, Mooncoin is famous,
one author (Edit: his name is Mr. Chris P.Thompson
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.15708434)
even is in process of writing a book about Mooncoin:

However, everyone, newbies or not are welcome to Mooncoin.
Even if you came to crypto in 2016 and have no understanding of Altcoin old school ideas,
read and learn. Fairness is the key. Not profit only, not exchanges only matter.

Mooncoin is a fair coin with ongoing equal opportunities.

Edit: forgive us our loud words,
it was the 3rd anniversary of MOON today, it doesn't happen too often (with an altcoin especially).

Yes, the total supply of MOON is about 385 billion, enough coins for everyone, it was built with future in mind,
no prices (denominated in MOON) will look like 0.0000000000000000001.
MOON's inflation is quite low if you compare it to many other coins.

Wow, i am interested in all this, but i will explore more deeply about moon coins. At least my knowledge is growing about altcoin and adds to my experience in the world of cryptocurrency

They both, gormadoc and dogemoon8888 told they received coins (that disappeared on June, 6)
about 2 years ago from multipool.us.
2 cases and the same source of coins, what could it be?

If you are a miner and mined at multipool.us, maybe some credentials or private keys were compromised?
Then if anyone mined at multipool.us before, you'd better immediately transfer your coins to the new Mooncoin address,
better to several paper wallets, generated on an oflline machine.

Another thing which came to mind: consensus issues with multipool.us?

That does not have to do anything with this issue.
If you mine at multipool.us, you receive the coins automatically in intervals (based on the number of accumulated coins, as set by you) or you can initiate that on your own.

In any case the coins go - as with any pool - from the pool's address to another address in your wallet or at an exchange. Cryptsy, for example, had an auto-sell-feature; so as soon, as the coins arrived there from the pool, they were sold at the set price.

So it is completely irrelevant, whether someone bad had access to an account at a pool or someone is "not in consensus" with the pool's operator. As soon as the coins left the pool, all of these risks are non-existent anymore, if the miners already received their coins to their own wallets.
The problem is somewhere else.

That's why I keep my coins on various exchanges. But I only have a couple of millions Smiley

Exchanges are probably the worst place to keep coins if you want to keep them safely.
When you keep coins at exchanges, you don't control your private keys and fully depend on exchange admins.
Even if they are trustable, an exchange can be hacked and then very likely you will lose your coins forever.

That's exactly the case why so many people have lost coins at Cryptsy, they have made this mistake and you'd better never repeat that.

Hi James,

Since difficulty retargeting algorithm will have to be changed as it is obviously flawed in current mining environment (huge pools jumping in and out), a hardfork is needed to update this if I understand correctly?
I agree with you when a hardfork will be needed anyhow that updating the PoW algorithm could be a nice extra. Any algo's you're currently considering?
Could you also update the repository so the community can review changes being made and perhaps contribute and assist in updating the codebase?
Thanks for your efforts.

i've got a range and have discovered the candidate that is currently in place is not ideal; as there is a large (and arguably unfair) advantage given to GPU miners.
its not currently set in stone; but ideally i'd like to see a primarily cpu based algo - with gpu mining possible but not with any major (1.5-2x) advantage.

makes it fair for everyone Smiley

Well regarding the PoW algo that is good to hear progress has been made.
I do however got the feeling you are dodging my other questions.
Did anyone even review the code of the current mooncoin client?
People start missing coins and malware designed specifically to target mooncoin seems a bit off if you ask me. Malicious code baked into distributed binaries is however way more plausible.

The Mooncoin source code was reviewed many times.
MOON is listed at 5 exchanges, and every exchange audits the code before adding a coin (the whole exchange could depend on one backdoor in one coin, as in the case with Cryptsy), that's why be sure they review each coin they add.
Recently C-Cex added MOON, and they care a lot about their security.

I have just downloaded the moon wallet for sync but it's too long to finish the sync ( more 3 years to finish).
do you have a bootstrap.dat for faster sync? Please give me the link for this . Thank you.
The Bootstrap.dat downloaded but it's only 0 byte? maybe this link of bootstrap is failed.

Fast syncronizing?
Download blockchain files
Here a copy in my cloud https://ln.sync.com/dl/701a699e0/a7fidrdc-7b4vpyys-v32u6j8j-3sy5c9gk

Update your file copying this files in /user/appdata/ where wallet.dat is allocated
Synconized in 30 sec! 😀

Thank you  so much . it's started to sync only 3 seconds and Now it's running ok.
Is this coin using POW or POS function  and May I solo-mine this coin ?

@ coinflow: Sounds like a good idea.

I don't know how to go ahead correctly...so it would be nice if agswinner can do that?
Thanks a lot.

It seems all right, because the coins come from the second  cryptsy address, which then vernon has moved, maybe the coins have disappeared for the protection implemented? Where or from whom germandoc bought the coins?

If he bought them on Cryptsy and transferred them to his own wallet before Cryptsy went down, they can also originate from the same address as the now blocked one (if that is/was Cryptsy's).

Gormadoc, could you explain further?

Dogemoon8888, when and where did you acquire your coins?

Hi,Coinflow

They are mined all in 2014 from multipool.us... No one mooncoin is bought.

Dogemoon8888

Gormadoc also PMd that all coins that disappeared he received in 2014-2015 from multipool.us.

Has anyone informed the exchanges, to block, freeze or even verify the user of the address(es) where the funds went?
agswinner?

Edit: Could it have to do with the strange small spam-transactions that went to many addresses in the past days and some here wondering about?

If what that means 1 moon sent by unknown person, I got that too.

Very strange indeed, anyone noticed about this??

Make me feel worried.

Please kindly check this:

I hope that it is tested to segwit

I might repeat myself, but why dont we add mooncoin on yobit? we can all chippin to pay the fee 0.1 btc no?

Is it only .10 BTC in total to list? If it is, I will fund it myself. I'm 80mil @1sat. Looking for this to do a BCN and go to 200sat. Took BCN 3 months to go from 1sat to 200sat at it's peak.

The more exchanges, the better, then larger exchanges will add.

@ coinflow: I've ment, that asgwinner should talk to the exchanges... Edit: ah ok...see what you ment Wink

@ asgwinner: I didn't bought the coins....they are mined 2-3 years ago. No one mooncoin is bought. They are solomined in the most case and transferd from another wallet to my wallet here at home a few times (you see it in my transactions 2014-2015).

I'm in weekend now... so I cant reasearch things on my PC here...but I take a Laptop with me and a safe wallet.dat. I will allways look in here to see any news!

Greetings

Looking forward to a response from the support team YObit.net. There was an application for a Premium-placement. Now MOON has long been in line with the level of the Bittrex.

To The Moon !
Good morning from Greece. Firstly, I believe that all problems about  wallets (with a little patience) will be solved. Secondly, I watched this video about Mooncoin yesterday evening.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bbxk6mTVOKA

It's very good that some people make videos which they talk for Mooncoin ! Smiley

It's interesting to see this coin growing up highly today with a huge volume on this bluetrade exchange ?
Which exchanges will be intended to list this coin ? I expect it will be livecoin or bittrex exchange because we can attract many big investors to join

I believe that the best choices for Mooncoin are the following exchanges: Poloniex, Bittrex, BTC38, Livecoin and Yobit. If Mooncoin enters in these sites, the future will be brilliant ! Smiley
