Many people don't even need to be hacked. They're only too happy to give their bitcoins to total strangers for reasons I've never quite fathomed. You can never go too far wrong with the old if it's too good to be true thing.
Most of the time they have too much of it, just like every senior person who scammers tend to fleece into their web.
Because for some odd reason they think they are going to get something in return from their coins which are not doing anything with them for just sitting in their wallet. Undecided

These tips we can all use to stay safe and not get ripped off.

Here is my #1 tip for NEVER getting bitcoins stolen.

1. NEVER TRUST ANYONE OR ANY WEBSITE

I recently found out a way and stole 7.5 bitcoin. (I'm no proud of it, I just am a broke mexican).
If your not proud about thing your doing then no meaning of doing that stuff . If you really think its not belongs to you then give it back . respect everyone's hard work .Even i wonder how you can able to stole that much huge amount . Recently one of my bitcoin holding exchange was not working 3 or 4 days i know how much tension i gone through . Please return that back to the owner.

What is exactly your itention? Is it to warn everyone who has bitcoin? If so, better tell us how on earth you've got that huge amount of 7.5BTC. If you really are not proud of what you did, why would you tell everyone about it. Better return it to the owner.

Anyways, thank you for you tips. I hope you realize that what you did was totally wrong. It is stealing.

Spamming your email of some sort of investment saying that if you invest you will gained 20% percent per day of something like that and then when you already invest you cannot withdraw your bitcoin anymore and payout is only just your money so better to be careful.

That's one method, also some Altcoins have viruses attached to a wallet download so that could be another one as well.

How come you're not proud of it but you came all the way here with 7.5btc you said and posted it. Anyway, did you get that all in just one address? If that was true then maybe someone should have posted that his/her bitcoin was hack, right? but there is no.

Pugs are the best!
The most common thing most scammers use to steal bitcoin or any other thing online is thru Phishing which the most common victim are those who lacks knowledge about those.
Anyway, the thing here is that you stole 7.5bitcoin which is a large amount and you're telling it to everyone here and saying that you aren't proud about which you are. Atleast exposed your way on how you did that so everyone should be aware of it and know how to avoid being rob by people like you.

IS NOT FAIR, TO  STEAL NO MATTER WHAT,EVEN IF YOU ARE  BROKE,THAT NO EXCUSE TO STEALING
WE ALL HAVE TO BE CAREFUL AND ENSURE WE CREATE STRONG  PASSWORD AGAINST  HACKERS, WITH THAT WE  CAN GET  TO  SAVE  OUR HARD EARN BITCOIN.

Just quoting you for reference, the most common method every noob hacker use is trojan based attack and they will spoof a given data with an invisible trojan and target the vulnerable IP or the user,in the case of exchange hacks it is not a work that is carried out in a day or two,the hacker might collect the TCP UDP log for over a month and if they find any vulnerability they will proceed and the only possible way to avoid these sort of hacks is to monitor the logs regularly and analyze the logs and separate legitimate traffic, exchanges have to take security seriously to avoid these things .

There are a few common methods that hackers are doing to steal bitcoins from others, one of the method was to create a simple site that promises to give away little amount of free bitcoins to new users on registration, if a user that register on the site uses the same email and password where he uses it as a login for other sites, hacker could access his accounts on other sites, I have personally seen a few users that lost quite a huge amount of bitcoins in their account due to this reason, and the admin of the site had to create a new account for them totally as changing of password could no longer works because the hacker would not log off that account once he managed to log in.

Another method would be asking users to download some software from links given by the hacker, the hacker would promise some rewards to be given to the user who does that, the link would normally contains malware and once a user download it into his personal computer, hacker could start to steal bitcoins from him.

A common method is social engineering. Making people install something that looks harmless on their computer... Either that, or phishing via email.

I recently found out a way and stole 7.5 bitcoin. (I'm no proud of it, I just am a broke mexican).

Most likely fake. Anyways, red trust from someone it DT in 3, 2, 1...

Or more in the lines of asking for loans and without any intentions of paying them back.
Cause if they went to the bank in real life they would not get approved for one so they just go on the internet and look for some haphazard person to borrow from through you guessed it: Social Engineering them. Roll Eyes

Either that or just begs with multiple accounts they have created on various different websites.
Which is quite easy to do since they are free to register too.
Unlike some other website and forums where they charge their users to register just for the sole reason they create countless accounts such as this one with the sole purpose to scam with. Embarrassed

what way you found to stole 7.5 btc? you broke a computer or you stole it by hacking remotely someone? if you are not proud of it you should give back that money really, there was one case where someone got 50 btc from cryptsy, because of a bug in the withdrawals process and he returned them back, follow this example and do the right choice

Lovely
I had almost similar thing happened to me few days ago on Poloniex. Happened while I was buying a coin, I hit "buy" several times and then sell cos the transaction had difficulty going through. It went through eventually and i checked back the following day only to find additional Bitcoin.
To be honest, I don't know if that was mine. I am  so sure I had no Bitcoin left after buying that Alt.

Though the bitcoin is little, I do not feel comfortable spending what I didn’t work for. I will definitely contact poloniex if am very sure it wasn't mine.

Man, that dude deserves to be celebrated.

I have had bitcoin and altcoins stolen from me, by phishing emails and also giving money to DEVS to do work for me and they didn't and they ran off with it. Unfortunately it's thieves like this that can put people off crypto altogether, which DAMAGES the marketcap and that's why my mother always says for me to take my money out not hold it in Bitcoin or Coins, a part of me now wants to take her advice. Last people that stole from me were from Indonesia, Tunisia and Eastern Europe. Last month I had over 1 btc worth of eth and eth tokens stolen from me by the myetherwallet phishing site, that sucked. I hope one day you return the stolen coins, because something bad can happen to you also in future..don't steal from others, there is nothing good in hurting people like me..   Cry

You stole 7.5btc in which you are not proud of but yet you still come here, create a thread and flaunt it then look for ideas on how to make more people cry over their hard earned resources. It would be better if you would share the idea you use so others be more careful as well. I have been a victim and I have learnt my lessons which a lot of people have been scammed as well.

7.5BTC is more money than most Mexicans should have, much less one willing to scam.  Hopefully you're actually in Mexico and not the U.S.

This is funny and racist Smiley

7.5 BTC is like what, a little over 19 thousand bucks? That's more than I have LOL, hell, that's more than most of my friends have saved up. I live in the US, rent is a monster that will not die here.

I read something recently that said most US families said on a survey they would have a deal if a $600 unexpected expense came up. 19k is like that and a fat bag of chips. This would be a payday for anybody Smiley

Keep your own keys. And keep your machine free of malware, you have to stay on top of virus protection. It's a must here I see Smiley

Stealing is stealing. Most important advice to secure Bitcoin - don't keep it on a computer which is connected to the Internet (iPhone ap is ok for wallets that don't hold too much btc)
I think that this apps are the most not safe places to hold bitcoins, because of smartphones are stolen every day or just get lost or forgotten by the accident, so if a person will have someone's phone in hands he easily can open the wallet and send bitcoins in other place.
