Almost everyone who was in crypto in its early years must have experienced the same thing, but that's not a problem, right? because no one can predict the future correctly, no one thought that the BTC that was used long ago to buy something, its value in USD will be very high nowdays.
Don't look at our BTC transaction history often, because it can make us continue to regret past decisions  Smiley.

Thinking back, I wish I had paid via credit card from the official website.

Look at it from a different angle and not just values then and today - because BTC is primarily a currency that should be used as much as possible, and part of the success we have today is precisely because all of us did not just hold. If everyone thought that way, then even today we should not use BTC for payments because in x years it will be worth 5-10 times more than today.

I’ve also bought some things directly for BTC over the years, but I’m not in the least bit sorry that something I paid $100 a few years ago at today’s BTC price would be worth 10 to 20 times more. Money is to be spent, we will not live forever - and the world has become a dangerous place where every day can be our last.

Anyone had any similar experience?

I've bought a laptop for ~0.6BTC. but what can I say? I wish I had fiat to pay for it, but money is meant to go in and out.
In the meantime I earned more bitcoin, I'm holding some, I'm spending some and life goes on. I try not to think much on how much I could have now if I would have been holding all the coins.

You wise you had paid by credit card, but I do not think that you would hold your $5 bitcoin for more than 5 years for a 2000% profit. I can guarantee that. IF you had seen bitcoin as an prospective investment, you would have spent more than $1000 to invest. In this case, regretting does not make any sense

Even those Bitcoin donator members in the forum before, do you think they regret it now?  Cheesy
Probably no. Without that pizza event, maybe Bitcoin would have never advanced to where it currently is. Laszlo sacrificed his coins for the entire community. Nobody here today would do that again for the benefit of everyone else, in a time where Bitcoin only keeps rising in value, signature campaigns exist and so many people are greedy or weak-handed. Back when Laszlo did it, he did it for the good of the community - not to his own.

Those who donated on the forum likely do not regret either. It was back when Bitcoin was close to nothing compared to today, and nobody could even imagine back then that Bitcoin would ever get to this price tag.

Yes, everyone here experienced that and even the signature campaign before that run by yahoo has a good payments rate, just because before there's no dollar base.  I even once checked my Blockchain wallet before, how I wish that the fund was still there and can able to withdraw with the current value.  But unfortunately, we already spent it and there's no way to back our wallet.

None of you beats the pizza guy.
Yeah, 10,000 Bitcoin for two Pizza.  That's Laszlo Hanyecz.
That had an incredible value as of now and you can even buy how many Tesla on that amount.

That pizza store must be quite rich supposing they have even kept 1% of the BTC he had used.

I've also tracked down a few older signature campaign payments, the amount in BTC was significantly higher, in dollar value it could be the same thing, who would have guessed. I remember being in a quite low paying campaign (in terms of dollars of course) quite a few years ago, nowadays,  It's best to not look it up. I'd rather not know.

Lol, Forget that wish mate. I've learnt to not regret in such cases. That transaction supported Bitcoin to its present level. I mean; the more transaction that occurred, the more Bitcoin's potential was realized. IMO, Feel Proud.

Lol
You either have to count with USD value only or BTC only. The way you are compare this, or the way people bring the pizza thing, isn’t certainly something realistic. You have paid $5 only, no matter you have paid through BTC, USD, ETH, GOLD, DIAMOND. You have paid $5 only.
Nevertheless, I would prefer this post in economy board, you would get some interesting discussion from the expert.

everyone will experience it, never mind, don't bring up the past, where regrets will never disappear, let's collect savings to get better profits from bitcoin.
because I also experienced it, where I did traskasi in 2017, made payments that I thought were useless at the moment, but who knows what made me do that at that time

OMG! Maybe we are all going through the same thing but what can we do? If we convert bitcoin or any crypto to Fiat it is the same. Because we spend what we need at that moment is what we also experience when we live in a country with inflation. It is the same effect but in reverse we take the opportunity to buy any asset and after several months we notice that we buy an asset cheaper than at present.

Was crawling through an old Blockchain.info wallet when I found the following transaction, judging by the date and the price I had paid, it's a similar if not the exact transaction in an effort to purchase a migrated Minecraft account, quite a few years ago.

It was approximately $5 back then, well, the equivalent amount of BTC would be worth over $1.000 now. That probably turned out to one of the most expensive Minecraft accounts ever bought. Thinking back, I wish I had paid via credit card from the official website.

Anyone had any similar experience?

I have transactions higher than that and it just hurt where that bitcoin go  Sad The earlier you are in bitcoin the higher the bitcoin probably you waste because you don't really know that that bitcoin is going to reach 60k$ at this moment.

I mostly use my bitcoin back in the day because I just need the money and sometimes it's a little convenient to use bitcoin especially in online transactions, that number in the past year was just different so .3 something in the past year has a different value compared to the value these days and it just happened we made a big mistake.

None of you beats the pizza guy.

That's true!

You're not alone here - I've paid BTC on stupid stuff back in 2015 when everyone said Bitcoin is dying. I guess a lot of people spent their coins back then, since FUD was on an all-time high..

I think one of my transactions was worth $60 when Bitcoin was somewhere around $170-200, so best case is.. I paid $18k for it
That must have hurt seeing that after a few years. However, I didn't see Bitcoin as an investment or an asset back then, I was quite young too, couldn't have guessed to be honest. Most BTC I had back then was acquired by faucets, it didn't feel like I was spending anything back then. Who would have guessed that these faucets were paying gold in the long run.

Well, almost everyone here does, especially to those users who used to buy using bitcoin way back 2014 or so which bitcoin value is just hundred $ and comparing now. And why regret? its a great experience actually, spending/buying stuffs with the use of magic money on the old days.

I have bought lots of game credits not directly an account but in-game funds wayback into those early years which i do still have the history of those
purchases which it do really put up me on the state of regret on why i havent just saved up those btc and able to save up those coins for the future
and i might have some serious amount of money as of this moment if i do able to do so.

For sure lots of people do have the same experience which we didnt expect for bitcoins price to go this high.So its expected that value would really
much more different.

Yup. I've got similar experience not just ones nor twice but many. As much as I can, I'm no longer looking at my old purchases because when I've bought or sold bitcoin in the past, that's it and there's no looking back. What's important is that I've used my bitcoins back then to those purchases that I've ever needed. That's why we're holding it today, we don't want to sell it if we know that the value of it will become higher anytime soon.
