it looks like the Mclaren 2017 season is going to be in tatters.
These disruptions are bound to be causing distractions and loss of focus as everyone is watching their backs.
It is looking like the start of a downward spiral for this great team.

Felipe Massa signed with williams (was the shortest retirement in the history of F1!).
At this point Bottas go to mercedes's almost guaranteed to 99%
Is this official news or only rumours? If it's true, I'm really amazed that Massa will back after his very emotional retirement on Brazil GP.
And yes, Massa back to Williams means that Bottas go to Mercedes. Williams didn't found anything else to be no. 1 pilot, so they called Massa. But I amazed that he agreed.

I don'tthink he will drive maybe as consultant for new drivers like laudable in mercedes
He was good for his driving carrier and for me one of 10 best in my list and i follow this for 30+ years

Are you making that up? Massa as a consultant? Are you stupid? It clearly said that he is reported to join Williams as a driver. If you do not watch F1 please stop posting in this thread.

@cicciobtc. Yes Valteri to Mercedes is a sure thing now. I feel sorry for Pascal Wehrlein because he was not given a chance. Where will he go now? Back to Manor?

Meanwhile Toto Wolff he has stunned everyone with a sensational news.
He would like to try the Rally driver Sebastien Ogier, and Valentino Rossi!
Valentino Rossi had already tried in 2006 the Ferrari.
Valentino Rossi would be spectacular to see in the circus of F1

Nico Rosberg quit. That is unbelievable and also had impacted F1 way too much negatively. What will fans of other sports think of F1 ? They will think it's worth nothing as the champion retired from the sport right after he was crowned champion. Man this is truly shameful for Rosberg. I am sure if Ecclestone knew what Rosberg had in mind would have never let him become world champion. I hope in a better championship in 2017.

@smho_16, You are very late with the news. Please stop posting for the sake of your sportsbet.io signature campaign. I am quoting your post so that Yahoo will see this.

For the latest news in F1, Lewis Hamilton has expressed his disapproval of Toto Wolff's statement “Anarchy does not work in any team or in any company.”, when he backed up on Rosberg during the final race. Lewis said he felt disrespected by everyone who has spoken against him. The issue has not been resolved according to him.

Maybe we will see him leave Mercedes sooner than expected? If yes I have a feeling another German will fill Lewis' seat. Hint, he likes to give the finger.

Yeah, Bottas seems to be it.  Toto Wolff said they're making the announcement by January 3 or something.  Next season will be more interesting if they gave it to Vettel.  I'm curious how both will do vs each other in the same car.

Bottas may be better option than Wehrlein I think.
Wehrlein is good driver but he drived slow car and jump into Meecedes top level can be to big for him. Mercedes want to keep dominate in constructors classification and to do that, they need double podiums often. I'm not sure that Wehreiln can reach it. But I'm sure that 1-2 years later he will be top class driver.
Bottas is experienced enough and he can help Mercedes to win constructors cup again. And I think he will agree to be 2nd driver of Mercedes.

Yes. Valteri Bottas is starting to look like the better driver to replace Nico because he has enough experience and minus the ego. The problem would now be Williams. Are they willing to let go of their first driver? Their new driver Lance Stroll still does not have experience in Formula 1. They need Vateri experience to consistently get points at every race.

If you were made to choose between Pascal Wehrlein and Max Verstappen. Who would be the better driver if they drove the same car?
True, Williams don't want to release their No.1 pilot Bottas. Now it would be hard to find driver to replace him in Williams, because all best drivers already hve contracts for the next season.

If to choose betwenn Wehrlein and Werstappen, I would choose Max. We only saw Wehrlein in slow car so far and we don't know what he would be able to do with better car. He have to move to better team to show what he can. And I like Max driving style, which are aggressive.

@azguard. No Lewis will be one of the top 5 or even top 3. I would also think Fernando Alonso is still good and Sebastian Vettel for his consistency. That is my top 3. The rest outside of it would be Daniel Riccardio, Max Verstappen and Nico Hulkenberg.

Pascal Wehrlein has opened up on why he was overlooked and Force India decided to get Ocon instead. It was in the test drive he said. Pascal may not have made a good impression with the team. Maybe he said something bad with one of the engineers. Pascal did not tell the whole story but he said he has learned from it and it will not happen again.

this would be interesting to see but think that in first race all favorite would crash at the end cuz they don't like loosing but good question to think about

This is good question

But i was thinking to see on all drivers what you all think who would be better in that situation from all drivers would it be currently fastest ones or some other drivers.
I mean i have thinking this whole year if they all same engine tires and chassis who would be best from them. Think that is this case Lewis would be much lower placed.

Now the latest round of news about Mercedes' search for a driver has a new development. It is now said that Valteri Bottas is on pole to become the new Mercedes driver to partner with Lewis Hamilton. That is maybe the most practical choice for a 2nd driver. He is good enough to garner points for the team but he does not have a big ego that might upset Lewis.

Here is the latest news floating around in the internet. According to Fernando Alonso's manager, Fernando will not join Mercedes and that he will see out his contract with McClaren. I have a strong feeling Mercedes' 2nd driver will be Pascal Wehrlein. He is good and ready for that drive in my opinion.

#SWGT PRE-SALE IS LIVE
@azguard. Max and Sebastian are just the media trying to make up stories for us to read. It is very unlikely that those 2 will even consider leaving their current teams at present. Bottas is a possibility if Williams are willing to negotiate for a good price. With Fernando Alonso it is complicated. We have seen how crazy it was at McClaren years ago when he was partnered with Lewis. It was a media nightmare and a toxic relationship. Something Mercedes does not need.

i back you up in all i mentioned here i have some strange feeling that in the end it will be someone who we didnt expect to see at all
to be some new face no one expect and to be good nice second driver, i dont see any other option i personally dont think that names that i mentioned will come (i read then in several news sources basically same names all the time), and think it will come to some new hope of GP series maybe Gasly or Giovinazzi

but im not team manager of Mercedes i can only like you speculate or predict

if sebastian vetel join to mercedes is very bad
2 driver conflict,  hamilton and vetel in team can above conflict hamilton and roseberg
