McClaren? No amount of excellent strategy will make them win races every week if they have a really poor car. Not even Alonso can qualify in the top three in that car, let alone win a race.  They could win one but they would have to be extremely lucky and have the teams on top of them under-perform for that week.

Maybe it's time to dump that Honda engine for a Mercedes like they used to have.

That would the worse mistake they can do the McLaren. No car can win with a Mercedes engine except Mercedes itself . It's clear you will ask why now .

It's simple. Because Mercedes the top spec engine keep it for themselves and to client team they give a very good engine but not the top spec. McLaren is in the right path, this year Honda made steps of giant although we see only little improvement in the race track. I think 2017 Honda will bring a better engine capable of winning races. It may look a little to you but compared to last year Honda have won more than 2.3 seconds which is huge time in Formula 1.

i just one more thing i think they had on some race (2-3 races before) fastest lap on race so i think they improve big time considering 2015 year when they struggle now they took point in almost every race that is huge improvement

Yes you are right. It's strange in fact that at Monza circuit which is also known as "the temple of speed" for hardcore formula 1 fans , this year the fastest lap is held from Fernando Alonso with McLaren Honda with a time of 1.25.3

Honda has done steps of giant toward a better engine and they are working day and night. I think they are the only team who can beat Mercedes because of their radical concept of the engine. Ferrari and Renault can't cause their engine is almost the same as Mercedes. While Honda can extract another more than 100 HP to fight for the title next year.

Last chance for Rossi to try to do something in this race if he wants to continue to fight for the championship. Unfortunately I don't think he can against a great Marc Marquez and the Hondas(remember Pedrosa awesome race 2 weeks ago with an odd 40 and he won).

Still every race mainly in Formula 1 is a gold mine to win for example placing a bet like Mercedes being the winning car at odd 1.40. In MotoGP you never know who will win, we had 8 different winners there until now.

@azguard. In Ferrari's case it is more that they have a bad car. Mercedes and Redbull is beating them every week, why do you think this is? Is it because they use the wrong strategy every week? No.  It is because they have the slower car. They cannot have a good qualifying session because of that reason. If they cannot get a good qualifying session because they are slow, how do they expect to win races?

absolutely they have very poor car i must say for someone that name is Ferrari and first specs for this is speed
i humble opinion on this is that they have some opportunities but they didnt use that well no matter how Vettel tries he cant do it on Räikkönen case he is if im fast i will overtake if im not i wont even try it
i do hope that we will see next season some improvement in some team not just Ferrari in this case McLaren is not as it was in past but they try harder then Ferrari this season at least

You got this one for mclaren they sure iprove rom last year i they going up in form

yes, ferrari lose because have a bad car, but can risk more to strategy.
i think is better stop the evo for 2016 and work only for 2017, redbull have overtaking ferrari to second place and i think is hard recuperate the position

That didn't happen last season they were better but poor strategy cost them some victories and podium finish

@marioantonini. Maybe what you said could happen. But please also consider that Mercedes and Redbull are also adjusting their strategy against the strategy of their opponents. If Ferrari can really win races then they should have won 1 by now. Vettel is a good and consistent driver but let us face it without a good car he cannot win races like he did with Redbull. The same can be said with most of the drivers.

car is key factor but for some drivers even car cannot be good for them and for some they use best from it
this is racing there are teams with good strategy and team that do bad choices on race like Ferrari is doing this bad example
they could win but poor strategy cost them victory

another time bad strategy for ferrari, today kimi raikkonen have speak to italian site "i don't understand my tyres strategy, i can finish in 3th place with another strategy".

i think if Vettel start in the first 10, win this race, because start 22th and finish 5th with very aggressive race.

singapore grand prix , same with monca granprix
in there very dificult over take, so if vettel star race is bad, result not good

Yeah, fantastic result for Vettel despite starting from the back.  Also there was also a time in the race where Verstappen and Kvyat were in a close battle.  I'm glad Kvyat didn't take any bs from Verstappen and kept holding is own.  It was the entertaining part of the race.  I wish we see more of that in the rest of the races.
