I rented a room for $500/month, had to share a bathroom though.  I think $400/month is about as low as you can go.  Of course you can go up  as high as you like.  Prices go up as you go toward the seacoast.

Here's a website that has several houses for sale I put in Manchester as a test case, but if you want more rural then you should pick somewhere else.

Rent in bitcoins?  I know at least two landlords that will accept rent in bitcoins (both no vacancy.)  As we get more and more friendly property owners I'm sure that number will increase.

The free state project is a non-profit with the goal of recruiting 20,000 people who want to live in a society where the maximal role of government is the protection of life liberty and property.

This project has already shown results and could have world changing influence in years to come.  People who move for the project tend to be interested in alternate currencies.  Some participants attend a bitcoin meetup which just met for the 30th time since it's beginning.  We've been having a lot of fun.

New Hampshire has at least two storefronts that accept bitcioin.  There is also a good amount of trading in gold and silver.  Please check out the Free State Project and see if it's right for you.
