The exchange he mentioned looks straightforward since there's step by step instructions after clicking the sell token button but no trading pair mentioned when you check the list. I guess the only missing piece left before making the order is to find the current price of the token. You could probably use their buy price as a guide and set it slightly lower so that it'll get processed quickly.

I have an erc20 token (TRKC-Trakcoin) . . and want to reinvest in Bitcoin . . . do I have to sell the Trakcoin tokens first.  What's the path . .  Obvious novice here.

TrakCoin (TRKC . . . and Trakcoin Exchange (TKEX) . . are both at the address below.
https://www.google.com/search?q=trakcoin&tbm=isch&nfpr=1&rlz=1C1GGGE_enUS489US499&hl=en&ved=2ahUKEwiprr7a9NnoAhV7ATQIHUvMAMAQvgV6BAgBEEA&biw=1434&bih=683

Never heard of the exchange before nor even come across it, but yet visit the exchange and if there is good trading volume or enough buying orders (that is, buyers) then sell it off.
About the path or direction as a novice; the usual way on most exchanges is to create an account, confirm the email, login, check account or funds section, locate the coin then click on deposit or locate deposit select the coin and get the deposit address. Send your coin and sell to listed pair, depending on what you sold to, you might need to sell again to BTC to achieve your aim.

I tried to look at https://coinmarketcap.com/ and https://www.coingecko.com/id, it looks like TRKC no longer exists and cannot be traded. maybe you are late, when you get it, you don't sell it directly according to the given reference. I also try to look at forkdelta who usually still like to have a transaction, not also seen.

At https://ethplorer.io it has been distributed to many participants, but can it be sold?
I did the same and I cannot find the coin anywhere , however if he is referring to the coin TRK(Truckcoin) then he is in terrible shape as the coin seems to have no volume at all and it has crashed to the point it has almost no value, as some people have said it is better to forget about that project since most likely the coin is never going to recover, I only hope he did not invest a lot of money in that coin since now all that money is most likely lost.

Look for pairs.
If it is ETH paired then sell it there first.
Then go to a trusted exchange, sign up deposit it to your ETH address from that exchange.
Wait for a little while and then buy bitcoin with an ETH pair.
erc20 is ethereum based tokens so you are 100% able to sell it in the exchange your tokens are listed in. The way I'm using is by Metamask from google extension when selling my erc20 based tokens so I could just connect my wallet in there and have my sold tokens directed to my wallet and ready to go.

That simple. The difficult part here will be the signing up.  Grin
Note: Be careful with some exchange. They may have some limits for maximum trading for non-KYC users.
Signing up will be only difficult if you are not that aware. just a quick suggestion, it is better to use exchanges that has no-kyc procedures if you are just going to sell it one time, I bet you got that erc20 based tokens in campaign or from investment. Am I right?

If you guys really want to move from the tokens to bitcoin directly, the best case is always using CMC to check which exchanges they are listed or the website of that token to see where they are listed, that will show it, plus you should also find the place with the highest volume plus liquidity so that you would not ruin the entire market and can sell decently without dropping the price.

However do not forget that this token was given to you for a reason, if you purchased it or bought it that is another topic, but if you "earned" it somehow, that was given to you for no money at all, whatever you end up selling even if you get 10 bucks in return that is almost free money (of course you spend your time for it) which means it may really not worth as much as you expect because there are many people like you which will sell as well.

I never heard about this coin/project (Trakcoin) is it already a listed coin/token? is it related to one listed in CMC called TRAK Invest (TRAK) if not, well it is not liquid yet so there's no way you can sell it and convert to Bitcoin (BTC), by the way, I can't judge you base only this information? I'm sure you know what you are doing so it is better to stay in that way. Good luck!

I still can't find the exchange link you're talking about. When I click the link in your post it leads me to images of your token. If your token is listed at the Trakcoin Exchange then you should transfer your token to that exchange and sell it, then you can use USDT or ETH to buy bitcoin as you wish.

If your token is already listed at the exchange, simply move your token to the exchange and sell it. It's easy to do so you don't have to be so confused, do your own research and you'll be interested in this market.

OP, you should goto that token exchange directly (tkex.me if I'm searching correct) and sell your token from that website. You need bit of ETH as a gas fee to make a transaction if you are selling that token tho.

can't see Trakcoin listed anywhere, I mean no exchange for this coin then how will you sell? However, if you have a way, you have to sell your trakcoin for BTC. Nothing else you have to do.
But if you can't sell for BTC, just sell it for any other coin like ETH, LTC and convert them to BTC.

Well, if this is the case. The the token he owned would be useless. No exchange available to trade it then there is no possible way he can swap his own token into btc.
I had some useless erc20 tokens too in my MEW and sad I wasn't be able to sell those.

And I took an immediate glimpse on that token. No available update and no price. It's clear that its one of those shitcoin.

Obviously, if you cannot find the token/btc pair then you have to sell it for eth or usdt and then exchange that eth or usdt for btc also do not forget to transfet that btc to your private wallet as keeping on exchanges is not safe practice nowadays.

After edit still I didn't find any real information. But I find it myself, only Trakcoin. Trakcoin exchange token still unknown to me. If this token is a exchange than you can sell there both token. Every ERC-20 token you can sell in decentralized exchange like idex exchange, forkdelta etc. After exchange to Ethereum, you can change to Bitcoin.

What is the Symbol of your token? TRKC or TRK. And is it Trakcoin or TRUCKcoin?

Which one of the logo of your token from above?

I make a search TRKC in CMC , Coinpaprika and CoinGecko. But I don't find any token.

There is no exchange for your token. Its delisted from all exchange or never listed in an exchange.

You can find more info about your token here.

all you can do is just burn the useless tokens by sending it to an unknown ethereum address. Grin

Why he sent his tokens to an unknown address by costing some transaction fee?

My suggestion is you can completely forget about your TRKC tokens.

It is Trakcoin (TRKC) . . on the TKEX Exchange.  TRKC     Trakcoin was created in 2018 . . and is associated with a music production company.

Since the project can't be found on coinmarketcap then it might be hard finding where it is listed, thus your best move is to check the Telegram group and ask questions about trading, if it's listed on any exchange you will be informed. Okay, let's assume it's listed on an exchange, then you will have to register with the exchange, get the token deposit address, deposit it, wait for confirmation and once it's confirmed, sell to the listed pair. Listed pair in this case, varies, in some exchanges it might be against USDT, ETH, BTC or all of the 3. Also, if it is on a pair other than BTC, you can first sell to the trading pair then buy BTC afterwards.

I am a member of the TKEX Exchange and have some of my Trakcoin tokens in it already.  I am sooooo new  . . WHAT IS THE LISTED PAIR?.  (TKEX has Ethereum of course but not Bitcoin.  For now I would just like to turn it into Ethereum.  I can do the rest.)

The first step towards selling any coin is first searching it on coinmarketcap or coingecko as the case maybe, if it is not found, then checkout the social media accounts of the project starting with telegram where you can easily ask questions or use the search option to search for the keywords "trade or exchange" this will easily let you know all discussions about it. Then visit the exchange and check for the selling pairs, if it is not in BTC, then sell to any available pair and sell back to BTC in the end.

What other options do you see? I do not think that you will be able to get Bitcoin without selling your coin, unless you have additional funds.
But if you want to exchange one for another, then use any exchange on which your coin is present.

Dunno what TrackCoin is.
I was supposed to advise you to do it in ShapeShift although the rates there before were kinda insane last time I converted which was long time ago.
Supposed that you're hodling a still-alive coin, doesn't the exchange you're currently trading at would have the option for you to convert it to BTC? I think most of exchange have those conversion.

Check the social handle of the project to know where the token is listed, from this you should be able to know if the project is dead or still alive. It's always important never to invest in projects you are not too sure of their commitment to the project development.

Obviously, you need to sell ERC-20 tokens first, and then use that money to reinvest in Bitcoin. Or you can move the token to exchanges that support the pair you want and sell it. But first your token must be listed on exchanges, if it is not listed on exchanges then I think you cannot sell them.
