Have you guys realized, that you have to enter an E-Mail address when you click on the Button here?
https://sendto.mozilla.org/page/content/give-bitcoin/

It is a normal coinbase function , and this is why it would be better a normal and public btc address.

They used to have it in small letters on the main donation form, they took it off apparently. The direct link still works.

It decreased their revenue per visitor by 7.5%

https://fundraising.mozilla.org/bitcoin-donations-to-mozilla-17-days-in/

How do they blame Bitcoin for their loss?
It isn't very logical...

Nope not very logical at all.  Especially, since they based in a 17 day sample size.  That's not even a decent sample size!

Here's the direct link to Donate Bitcoin:

https://sendto.mozilla.org/page/content/give-bitcoin

Although, they have a direct link, from the main home page, it takes about 4 or 5 link clicks to get to this same exact direct link.  By comparison, it takes 1 or 2 clicks to get a Visa Paypal payment option.

Stupid irrational decision.

I agree with you.
It seems they don't think high about BTC and don't believe that many people will send them funds by BTC.
I hope this will change soon.

Let me know if you hear back from them at all, I would love to see what they say to specific people asking to donate and them refusing to accept payment.

They don't refuse payment.  They are happy to receive bitcoin as payment, and have even provided a bitcoin donation page.  I suspect that if they respond to him at all, they'll just reply with a link to the Mozilla bitcoin donation page:
https://sendto.mozilla.org/page/content/give-bitcoin/

Why don't put a normal btc address , I think they will receive more donation if they use it. Because it will be all more transparent and public.

I just loaded up a new install of Firefox and the first screen I saw was the request for a donation.  I remembered this thread and yep - no bitcoin option.

I actually was going to donate to them because I think Chrome sucks donkey balls (crashes on me 4x a week for no reason and feels clunky as hell to me anyway).

I love Firefox.  Feels well-programmed.  Tight.  And elegant compared to goofy Chrome which reminds me of a tin can for some reason.  AM Radio ...

But instead I wrote them this email:

--------------------------------------------------------------

donate(at)mozilla(dot)org

Subject:  I was going to donate but...

You removed the Bitcoin option.  So now I can't donate.

I was about to donate $20.

I keep all my online payment funds in my Bitcoin wallet.  Its faster, safer, and easier.

Sorry.
------------------------------------------------------------

Feel free to email that email address and act like you were going to give them a million dollars, because you like making online payments with Bitcoin, but now you can't.

That seemed very unexpected. We can still donate with btc right?

Yeah you can still donate with bitcoin, but only if you reach the URL by yourself.
They removed any way of reaching by browsing the donating section of the site.

I don't understand the rational for that decision. Obviously you should expect more donations coming in with more payment options available. What do they have to lose anyway other than additional work to convert back to fiat if they desperately need to use it. In order words it's just a matter of putting the links there

Really! They removed BTC donation ?

Whatever, we can donate to something better than Mozilla
And they wasted their gold chance  Sad

Mozilla remove it while Microsoft try it out

They didn't remove it, it's still there in a tiny hyperlink on the bottom middle of the Donate page:

https://sendto.mozilla.org/page/contribute/givenow-seq?preset=2&source=mozillaorg_topNAV&ref=EOYFR2014&utm_campaign=EOYFR2014&utm_source=mozilla.org&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=mozillaorg_topNAV#page-1

"Donate Bitcoin"

Not easy to catch for sure, unlike MS or others who make it highly visible:

Partnering with Bitpay, it looks like MS has a long term strategy with Bitcoin, not just a gimmicky splash:

Bad decision by them. They had a chance to embrace new technology but foor whatever reasons they took a step backward.
With MS now accepting maybe they will realise their error.

When it comes to donations, apparently, the more payment options you have the less money you make...

I guess the OP was talking about revenue per visitor. Maybe bitcoin donations were small ticket in nature. After all, that is one advantage of Bitcoin - micro-transactions.

Mozilla should be concerned about total revenue, not revenue per visitor.

Really!
I'm happy Firefox user for years and was really happy when they finally accepted BTC.
I don't understand why they now removed BTC from Donation Form.
I may send them complain letter.
If many Bitcoin users do the same, we may force them to change this decision.
Gotta agree with this idea, why just conspiracies if we can contact them and get the official response?

Its just me or the yare making a bad relation between receiving less money because of the stupid simple text "Donate with Bitcoin"?
Humble Bundle doesn't got less contributors only because they are accepting new methods of paying.

Mozilla has removed bitcoin , buy microsoft has started to accept it .

<< Global computing giant Microsoft has added bitcoin as a payment option for a variety of digital content across its online platforms.

According to the company’s payments information page, US-based customers can now use bitcoin to add money to their accounts, which can then be used to purchase content like apps, games and videos from its Windows, Windows Phone and Xbox platforms. >>
