This is literally next level marketing. Their video was a huge success because of the entertainment value Mr. Beast put in it and with that, they are adding more fuel to the fire. Not to mention Mr. Beast is all over the world so having this promotion will really boost both Mr. Beast and Coinbase popularity in different demographics.
'They do know on how to play the game and this turns out to be a very effective way or method of marketing and knowing the global viewers or subscribers of MrBeast then it would really be a good big exposure.
Giveaway is somehow only good for some specific places which is sad but good thing for those who do reside into those places but it doesnt matter as long we do get that exposure specially in crypto as a whole
then that do sums up with overall adoption and recognition.

Mr beast is just taking advertisement media, sponsorship and game show entertainment and throwing it all together

other game shows like jeopardy, who wants to be a millionaire, american idol are all just shows running something entertainy, offering groups of people a large money prize for competing and all that money coming from advertising/sponsors

he has not re-invented the wheel. he has just made the wheel more shiny

some say he didnt really hightlight bitvoin/coinbase much...
yet he cant go over board advertising the sponsor as some things like youtube dont like that as they are not getting a managers fee(a cut of the deal) as the sponsor money is a private deal between coinbase and mr beast.
same goes for going too heavy advertising dunkin doughnuts on american idol if its sponsored them. they cant exactly mention it every fourth word for example

i think Mr beast done a sponsor deal for $1.5m. so that he had $500k prize $500k sub prizes(split other 49 contestants at $10k average). $100k twitter prize and $400k for bills and mrbeast income. its not cheap to hire a stadium for a day

Along with teaming up to make a video, Coinbase is also now sponsoring a giveaway!  I'm guessing this means they received more attention from the video than they expected.

You can now reply to the below tweet using the hashtag #CoinBeastSweepstakes after you follow @MrBeast and @Coinbase for a chance to win $100,000 in BTC!

https://twitter.com/mrbeast/status/1433528712952229890?s=21

That's pretty much it!

Edit: Coinbase has also now officially announced the contest: https://twitter.com/coinbase/status/1433552622976331784?s=21

I wish we could see the numbers generated by Coinbase but I think they would have got more than 1% signing up and it will be closer to 10%. Only a small amount of that 10% will probably deposit money but at least they will be introduced with Bitcoin and might revisit it later. I wish there was more sponsorships for other Youtubers because it would only help with the adoption of btc. I am hoping that other exchanges and crypto gambling websites start advertising with Youtubers to spread the word about their company and Bitcoin. MrBeast is probably the best Youtuber to contact because he has shown a interest in btc and he makes very good videos which will encourage people to invest more because he is trustworthy.

I can imagine that. There are people trying to point out that he isn't really giving away "real" money.

Also at the same time, there are other people that are simply just saying that he gives from what he is earning in Youtube which should be obviously true. I don't have the numbers on how much do YT'ers earn actually, but from how I see other people quitting their jobs to go full YTer makes me think that Mr. Beast having 67.8M Subs (as of writing this) isn't faking it.

Oh they're making a lot, for sure. Even mid-sized YouTubers are making YouTube their main source of income despite being in really good industries. They should feel uneasy having a huge percentage of their income concentrated on YouTube though. Probably unlikely, but it's not impossible for Google to push an update that could screw them up monetary-wise.
I think most money that Youtubers rely on will be from sponsorships something that Youtube cannot control. If you have listened to youtubers talk about ad money it can vary depending on the algorithm and what type of content you create.

I thought that they've already sponsored the whole $500k that has been made on the other recent video that has been uploaded. But it's true that Coinbase probably got tons of registrations after that video that has been made by MrBeast. The video was a success and Coinbase has appreciated it and there might be more of these sponsored videos from them in the future. Well, I am looking at it as a contribution to the massive adoption being done and endorsed by a popular YouTuber like MrBeast. Let's say that with 28M views on that video and 1% of it signed up to Coinbase, well that small assumption got them 280k new registrants within a day or two.

He talks about how he spends more than he makes in the below video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaKINKK09FY

Basically, he's building his brand and not making money personally.  Think of it like how CEOs of major tech companies take a $1 annual salary.  Sure, they aren't making any money doing their job, but they're receiving ownership in an increasingly valuable entity that will certainly make them rich someday.
Makes a lot of sense. Basically can flick the switch whenever he needs or wants to make that money. It's pretty impressive that a young guy like himself can become so successful, be in the limelight of Youtube (which tends to corrupt a lot of them), and still remain level headed enough to focus on his brand, and building the future rather than taking the money now.

His brand is already probably recognised around the world. I mean take me for example, I don't watch a lot of Youtube, but I knew of him instantly, and I also know his emblem. He's probably one of the most effective at planting that brand in your brain.

I imagine he would be keeping the revenue generated by the video, but the millions that he is giving away is from sponsors. However, while Youtubers of his size earn a considerable amount, basically its tied to how many views, and based on your content, and click through rate, determines how you could earn. He earns a lot of money per video, lets just say that. Although, if you've watched any of his videos hes got quite a large production, and a lot of employees that he has to pay. So, he probably doesn't benefit from the majority of that revenue.

There's always a possibility of it being staged(at least one or a few); but MrBeast have been doing these sort of "game giveways" for so long now that it's got to the point that them having to stage their game competitions is most probably very unlikely.

Some give away is not even worth doing at all!!!!
How will he make give aways in such a way that only the rich and influential people can participate?
Requirements are almost impossible for a starter to have,
Is that still called give away?
Fuck that !!!

Calm down big boy.
The company that hosts the giveaway creates the rules and requirements.
They can decide who can and who cannot participate.
What do you mean by "rich and influential"?The giveaway is open to people, who are living in Tier 1 countries(US,UK,CA),and currently have a Coinbase account. This doesn't look like a pretty high barrier of entry.
Unfortunately, the people in other parts of the world can't participate, but life isn't fair anyways,so who cares.
I really hope that Mr.Beast will become the number 1 Youtuber in the world.
Pewdiepie became a little bit boring lately(I still like him though). Grin

That's actually huge, not only will it gain more popularity for Coinbase but giving Bitcoin more exposure to teenagers, MrBeast is a big personality/influencer, he's huge in NA and other continents because of how much he has given help to people by giving them crazy giveaways like this, it's actually a great opportunity for a collaboration like this to happen, and whoever gets picked is definitely lucky, I'll definitely join in this giveaway.

This is a big boost to Coinbase because Mr. Beast has a really big following on Twitter.
He has a much bigger following than just Twitter. Anyone giving out free money is going to be popular, and he's probably one of the most respected channels on the Youtube platform. Plus, if he's venturing into Bitcoin competitions, that can only be a good thing for Bitcoin, since he has contacts with several high profile sponsor companies, which might actually legitimise Bitcoin further in peoples minds.
One of the popular face with huge subscriber base on different social platforms

YouTube alone he has 67.8 million
Instagram - 13.4 million
Twitter -  11.2 million
Facebook - 5.8 million

Any partnership program with him will definitely have a huge impact and this is what coinbase took advantage of it and now giving away $100k in bitcoin is also huge but that would definitely come up with certain restrictions which all of these exchanges put upon users and winners. But those who don't have problems with KYC will go for this opportunity.

Mr.Beast might become billionaire with all his expensive videos and exciting offers to users as this time he has staggering net worth of $16 million approximately as per reports. But this offer is great and huge for many.

I thought that those giveaways were like just staged back in the days. I guess it is MrBeast being MrBeast. I first knew that guy when there was like that Pewdiepie trend back in the day and Mr Beast like advertised him really hard.
Let's see how these goes though.

And add to the fact that if they get caught staging stuff? The MrBeast brand itself would collapse, which he definitely doesn't want to happen. It would be very unwise for him to risk the reputation of such a huge brand.

If you were to say that thing without saying "back in the days", I would be insulted as a supporter of Mr. Beast because I have been on supporting that channel since the days of reading a dictionary in one sitting but it's understandable that you'll think that, charity and poverty porn content are great at gathering audiences. Never in my long time in that channel watching each video would I ever think that anything crypto related will sponsor Mr. Beast.

It's easy to come to the conclusion that it's staged especially in this day, and age when everything on Youtube is pretty much faked to a certain extent. Also, the face value of giving away money doesn't make much sense, but if you research on how he's getting that money in the first place, you'll soon realise that there it'll be written into the contract that it can't be staged. Sponsors are basically giving him a ton of money to advertise their company, and what better way than giving away money, and generating entertaining content at the same time.

This has been a method of advertising for a long time. Does anyone remember the call in shows where you could win a holiday or something along those lines? They generated money from the phone calls themselves, but a lot of those were sponsored by flight companies or other companies related to traveling.

Let's see how these goes though.
I don't see it going any different than his previous videos. The content will be some of the best on Youtube, and Coinbase will absolutely benefit from new users signing up to their platform. Then the Bitcoin community benefits from increased adoption.

He does give nearly all of his revenue to charity or use it for giveaways. When I say he could be a billionaire it is because he owns the brand. That brand will likely carry a billion dollar valuation one day, and he’ll have no problems getting anything he ever wanted, regardless if he ever “makes” any money for himself or not.
I'm definitely not saying anything different.

Yeah, no doubt he could become a billionaire due to his brand, and if he can leverage it right. I'm assuming at the moment it's written in the sponsorship contracts that he has to give the majority of the money away. Though, hes probably living quite a comfortable life compared to the average person lets be honest.

If I read it correctly, the only eligible to this giveaway is, those residents of US, canada and UK based on the coinbase's terms. It also require the winner to have a coinbase account and a kyc identification is required.

Anyway, partnering mrbeast with a twitter follow giveaway is really effective in terms to increase followers.
That's about right, too sad that people from other countries can't participate in this competition, really wanted to join this one and have a chance of getting that prize money, 100k USD can change anyone's life so I feel some regret not being able to participate. This is a big boost to Coinbase because Mr. Beast has a really big following on Twitter.

I've seen this post yesterday Bitcoin Reserves on Coinbase the Lowest Since December 2017
It seems the total balance on Coinbase exchange is decreased significantly, They may be running various campaigns to attract new traders to their exchanges. Over the past few days, I have noticed a lot of discussion about Coinbase on YouTube, Twitter, and various social media. Each of their giveaways and campaigns is very exciting and interesting. Previously I've joined their "Learn & Earn" Campaign, they ran it on their platform and gave cryptos who were able to answer correcly cryptocurrency-related questions.
Whoops!
Desperate coinbase , but unfortunately its not for worldwide. ive become his fan since a couple years ago now and seeing his generosity .. motivated me so much!
the main target of this campaign is of course those people who had a huge purchase power who living in those US canada based which $100k seems just average amount to giveaway .

ive been quitting to use coinbase since they continuously ask me for that kyc shit though.

The Bitcointalk Show missed its opportunity to collaborate Cheesy. It's quite mad that we were talking about Mr Beast possibility being interested in getting in on the cryptocurrency scene, and then I see this.

It is a crazy business model.  I think MrBeast is likely to become the first billionaire who made all his money from giving stuff away.  His entire story is crazy.  He got his start by taking out a huge loan and giving away all the money as a teenager.  Could you imagine?  When it comes to betting on yourself, and moreso betting on the kindness of others, Jimmy (MrBeast) is the best case scenario.  It's a model that is difficult to duplicate, as giving money away is easy (believe me, I've been doing it for 10 years now) but getting people to support you and join your mission to spread positivity is a far more difficult task.
I had the impression that he doesn't keep the majority of the money, and re injects it into his content. Am I wrong in that? I was sure I heard him saying that at some point. I know some of his employees usually get lump sums if the titles of the threads are to be believed.

Not at all but most likely this had been always the case.People who are much more influential or rich would always have the chance but some cases on where regular users or joes
could still join up as long they could able to if they do able to finish or done on whats been required. Its good to see that MrBeast is teaming up with Coinbase even though this
giveaway is just good for some state or country then its still counts as a good way on advertising Bitcoin which would really be a good add up for more exposure.

Good to not have another scam giveaway I guess anyway... Finally...

If I read it correctly, the only eligible to this giveaway is, those residents of US, canada and UK based on the coinbase's terms.

That's quite a large scope though too, most company giveaways are normally limited to just one territory so doing this should increase their coverage and make them look serious too - especially considering the trouble a lot of other exchanges are having with regulations.

I think you can expect them to want to get people to do kyc on their site too, they've probably put a handy "buy a coffee a month's worth of bitcoin" little button there too Wink. It'll probably at least filter more users towards faucets too which helps in our diversification of funds - just more people owning even a tiny fraction.

It is a really nice way to advertise Bitcoin honestly. I really like MrBeast as a Youtuber. And he has millions of followers now. This means that a lot of people can start having an interest in Bitcoin thanks to this giveaway. Coinbase has done a really nice job by teaming up with a person like him. The more people know and start using Bitcoin, the stronger Bitcoin is also.

Yup, because the give away comes from Coinbase they must put restrictions, most likely the same ones as for the exchange. Interesting though that Coinbase is going for such a wide range cover I would have thought they are pretty well know. I suppose it doesn't hurt bringing in more fame + users  Cheesy
