You think maybe they could fix the site first?

As I understand it he sold the site and is no longer affiliated with it.

Has anyone signed up and gotten an invite to anything, or has it just been crickets after registering?

My guess is that he's finally going to do something with that site he created in 2006: http://www.who.is/whois/coinconverter.com/

wondering which kind of audience would have wanted to convert which kind of coins in 2006 and how and why

he is satoshi.

Quite a few people have actually theorized that in the past.

That is actually kind of an odd coincidence.

This is Mark Karpeles latest tweet:

plus ou moins, les choses se calment et on travaille sur le renouveau du service d'hébergement

Has this got anything to do with the new project?

Nope..
If Gox hadn't have failed we'd still be in the thousands!  All it takes is one bad apple to set us back several years and draw a bunch of unnecessary government (nanny) attention.  I hope justice is done when this Broke Back Mount Gox thing is adjudicated.

Meh. Anything "Gox" to me is tainted.
Yeah, you're right.
Just like all the coins which went through Silk Road.

but seriously tho.  i wonder what jed's project could bring in and innovate in the crypto currency scene.  i mean we already have btc and all the other altcoins.  we already got decentralized and distributed exchanges in nxt and ripple.  ethereum and its scripting language and smart contracts are coming. and ripple is developing smart contracts too.

what is this idea of his that would blow the crypto currency community away?

anyone care to speculate?
