It's really sad to think that new people in the Bitcoin community who were not following this (or other forums) and therefore weren't aware of the problems and fraudulent behaviour by MtGox and continued to deposit money with them.
I find it especially disturbing that MtGox was listed as a recommended exchange (#1 I think!?) on Bitcoin.org for so long, even after we all realised that they may be in trouble...
I feel for all those new Bitcoin users who were unaware of the importance of following the forums and trusted the recommendations on Bitcoin.org.
Let's hope it doesn't put them off Bitcoin for good...
