Hello again,
I received the following notifications today from MtGox.

First:

Quote
To creditor No. XXXXX
Dear XXXX

On March 15, 2019, the Rehabilitation Trustee approved or disapproved rehabilitation claims regarding MTGOX Bitcoin exchange users’ rights to make claims against MTGOX for return of cash or cryptocurrency, and submitted to the Tokyo District Court a statement of approval or disapproval.
As a result, all or a part of the amount of your filed claim(s) has been disapproved on the ground that such amount does not exist.

The specific results of the Rehabilitation Trustee’s decision stated in the statement of approval or disapproval dated March 15, 2019, regarding whether to approve or disapprove your filed rehabilitation claim(s) are detailed in the attached PDF file for your review.
Details of the results of approval or disapproval may also be found at this website: https://www.mtgox.com/.
If your claim has been disapproved, you may file an action concerning the determination of claims as set forth in the Civil Rehabilitation Act within one (1) month from the last day of the period to examine proofs of rehabilitation claims (i.e., from March 30, 2019 to May 7, 2019).
I will contact you in due course with respect to future procedures regarding approved claims, if any.

Rehabilitation Debtor: MtGox Co., Ltd.
Rehabilitation Trustee: Nobuaki Kobayashi, Attorney-at-law

To creditors,

On March 15, 2019, I made a determination regarding whether to approve or disapprove your filed claims, and submitted a statement of approval or disapproval to the Tokyo District Court.

You can check the results of the approval or disapproval of your filed claims online by logging into the online filling system (the “System”) and clicking the button “VIEW THE RESULTS OF ACCEPTANCE OR REJECTION OF REHABILITATION CLAIMS.”

https://claims.mtgox.com/assets/index.html#/

If you cannot log into the System and check the results of the approval or disapproval of your filed claims online, please contact our email support at the following email address:

Email: [email protected]

Rehabilitation Debtor: MtGox Co., Ltd.

Rehabilitation Trustee: Nobuaki Kobayashi, Attorney-at-law

In the first email there was an attachment which included "Amount of Claims Accepted by the Rehabilitation Trustee Regarding Filed Claims" and "Amount of Voting Rights Accepted by Rehabilitation Trustee Regarding Filed Voting Rights (JPY)". At first I thought I was going to receive (some) of my BTC through Kraken. Now what happens next?

Dudes, don't get your hopes up. The lawyers will just drag this shit for how long they can, that is, until any funds left are all spent paying their fees. Lawyers get paid, we get shit all.

Cheesy Yeah, looks like it.

Wanted to check back with this case. Nothing new here, right?

So, the results are in, and it seems that most people got their claimed funds! Some have claimed ridculous sums that have driven up the total claims, so it just looked like the available funds were too low.

I got my whole claim, and with a healty 30% exchange rate profit since the bankruptcy, this turned out to be a very good investment! Who would have thought that? Smiley

I was told that the accepted amount of bitcoins still is not the amount of bitcoins you receive. So 19% of the amount? But yeah, it could still be a profit. Too bad these are not my coins. I held them since years? there for a user that used me as escrow. Cheesy

Still no third option for me to check my claim's results. Do we have a deadline or timeframe for all the claims to be processed?

Has anyone received anything? I do not show the 3rd option on my acct. yet.

Im just a little curious what the settlement may be.

I deposited 15kUSD to MtGox and I purchased btc with all but 4k$ worth..which was left cash in my account unable to withdraw any of it (of course).

My total amount of bankruptcy claim=1569166JPY....are people thinking I could possible get back 20% of that?

Just checking to see if anyone knows..

THX

Surely nobody will receive anything until all claims are finished.

Currently only 19% will be paid back. Which still will be more than 20% of the bitcoins that you lost. At current prices.

I wonder how big the amount of coins is that the trustee holds back. Maybe at one point in time another payment might happen? Or does he pay out everything?

If you are missing the third option, then your claim wasn't processed yet.
Mine was approved as filed (last balance). The fourth option is not working for anyone yet.

Thanks for the info. I tried to click the last link since some minutes too already and nothing happened. Cheesy

I miss the third option so I guess he did not work on the claim. It's not my bitcoins anyway luckily, only held them on behalf of another user but still worth a try.

Yep, the filed report says:
Total liabilities 8,732,190,301
Total assest 1,662,944,685
That should make 19%, unless they set a lower limit on claims which would raise the proportion for those who get payed.
The report: https://www.mtgox.com/img/pdf/20160217_report.pdf

So around 20% was relatively correct... ok... would be a better outcome than most exchanges going down at least.

I have a quote of $X for Ybtc that was in MtGox to be awarded which includes a Delay Damage figure.  Oh, what you are saying is that's what my btc should be worth, not what they'll be giving me when they settle up.  That's my "claim".

It doesn't matter what currency you had on MtGox. All currencies will be calculated into Yen for the price of MtGox going down. Date is April 23, 2014 (Japan time). Which is around $590 bitstamp prices.

Which means a bitcoin was worth more back then than it is now.

Then if you chose to be paid in bitcoin you receive bitcoin and at the time of the payout the bitcoin is worth less, then you might become more than the 19% in bitcoin. Because you can buy more bitcoins with the damage you have in Yen. Though it will be not much more I guess.

I'm happy.  Just checked.  So, if the award btc value is more than current btc prices when payout is taken, and one takes btc rather than JPY, one should get more btc than was lost, correct?

No. The amount distributed will probably be about 20% of the last balance. If bitcoin drops to double digits, then it may become possible to get more btc than last balance.

Ok thanks, the third option is not visible for me.
I filed the claim through Kraken, should I be watching that option through Kraken or through the mtgox claims website?

What you see should look like this (copied from the main MtGox thread):

If you are missing the third option, then your claim wasn't processed yet.
Mine was approved as filed (last balance). The fourth option is not working for anyone yet.
