It would NOT make any sense to change GOX green address.

That's not what Gox said.

- snip -
We are thinking of rotating the MtGox green address once in a while, with new green address announced ~1 month in advance.
- snip -

You really need to learn to read. I'm not going to help you again.

Thank you.

If you had spent just 5 minutes of your life checking if it is still used on the blockchain you would see that it is still active.

So far 33% of the posts in this thread are from you, and you haven't answered the original question yet.
- snip -

Make that 36% of the posts, and still wasting my time.

You know the entire community might be better served if you took your question to the main posts on the subject rather than just start a whole new op because you don't know the answer to a question.

I've seen many of your other posts in this community.  It is pretty clear that "the entire community might be better served if you" would just go away.

In about three seconds I came up the the authority on the matter:

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Green_address

Which IMMEDIATELY led me to the two posts worth reading on the matter:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/mtgox-green-address-option-48170
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/instawallet-introduces-new-approach-to-instant-payment-green-address-technique-32818

Which you never bothered to read, per your post above.

I've read both.  Neither answer the question.  I have no interest in engaging in forum necromancy of threads that are 19 months and 9 months old for your personal entertainment.  It is a simple question.  Either someone who knows the answer will come along and answer it, or they won't.  Why exactly do you feel the need to tell me how to go about asking it, and why specifically should I take your advice on the matter of how to ask questions in bitcointalk.org?

Did you think that, maybe, asking in those threads rather than create a third might make sense?

No.

I tried to point you to the ONE guy who appears to have used the green address and you smacked me, presumably because you think you are better than me.

I never said anything about being better than you.  If you have a problem with self-image, that isn't my fault.  I didn't "smack" you.  All I did is point out that I've already asked the question here and I don't see a need yet to bother some individual personally while there is still an opportunity for someone else to voluntarily supply the answer.  Please explain to me what in the following quote would be considered "smacking":

I've got a better idea.  How about if I ask in the "Service Discussion" section of bitcointalk.org and see if anyone there can answer my question?

Lock this thread and go ask somebody who knows the answer to your question, mr narcissist.

Really?  You're going to resort to name calling now?  Clearly it is time to click the "ignore" button under your name.  I won't waste any more of my time reading such childish posts.

Where do they make the announcement?  What use is a green address if they don't make it easy for everyone to know what the current green addresses are?  Shouldn't the green address be publicly identified on their website somewhere?  Are they still using the same green address from October 2011, or have they added additional green addresses since then?

Bully for you.

if you like wasting time go right ahead.

You are the only person here who has been wasting my time.  So far 33% of the posts in this thread are from you, and you haven't answered the original question yet.  If you know the answer, feel free to share it.  If not, move on and stop wasting my time.  Perhaps someone will answer, perhaps they won't.  Either way, I've chosen to ask here, and I'll wait for an answer here.  If I wanted to contact Dan Bordello directly, I would have done so already.

If you want to ask him why he quit his service, then you ask him.  Don't bother trying to send me on a personal errand for you.

Sure, or you can go with the sure thing... but if you like wasting time go right ahead.  He is the only one I know who's ever integrated the green address protocol outside mt gox themselves.

Dan Bordello the author of btcpak knows how to use the mt gox green address, you might ask him.

When withdrawing on MtGox, you can check the option "Use green address" to cause your coins to be sent through the address 1LNWw6yCxkUmkhArb2Nf2MPw6vG7u5WG7q (or pass the option green=1 to the withdraw.php API).

Where on MtGox website would I find the MtGox green address?
The actual address, unknown.
The option?  Under withdraw bitcoin as a checkbox.

The option isn't useful if I don't know the address.
