It's not ran by imbeciles!

It's ran by hamsters running in those little hamster wheels.

How can it be, that mtgox makes over $1 million USD per MONTH, and can't afford to hire competent server admins and buy good hardware to run their site?

THIS! And the Imbecile's name is Mark Karpeles. Oh, and he sits on the Bitcoin Fundation board.

Tux stated they were DDOSed - so yea, take that with a grain of salt.

DDoS by the influx of new users perhaps, their unverified user queue stand nearly 6000, which itself is a joke.

Every time there is a sell off and a spike in volume, he claims DDOS. The man is a lier and a certifiable idiot.

Bitfloor is fast/responsive as always.

But they don't carry 80% of the bitcoin transactions do they?
I want to see them supporting the same volume. Again, I don't know how big are they in terms of transactions. I never used them

Whose fault is that?

MtGox doesn't do 80% anymore.  It's a chicken and egg.  If you stay with Gox for the volume, volume will never move.

The market is wide open, make something better. Im sure you'd get customers.
Come on... the top exchange on the market has a completely indefensible position on this argument. They shouldn't have these issues period.

Liquidity is a major problem on new exchanges.
