you know that the euro trading engine is the same as the usd engine?

you can see this because the lag on both is always the same

got some poor coding skills there at MtGox

but they dont give a shit as they are raking millions per day Cheesy they wont fix it until that status quo is in danger

Yeah they just don't give a shit. Mark Karpeles is a failed coder that inherited GOX overnight, and has no fucking clue what to do with it, neither technologically or business wise.

AND this is the biggest Bitcoin exchanger, and the most public face for it. It is really fucking scary.

They just cant keep up with demand. You should be happy about this problem. Unless your only interest is in "cashing out". In which case the problem is with your strat.

In the interests of fairness, for anyone who might read this later and not know what happened...

The excessive lag on this occasion was caused by a DDOS, and was suffered by other exchanges too.

My statement above still stands, but Mt Gox think they know what is causing the slowness and are working to fix it.

AAAANNNNDDDDD Fucking Gox just exploded!! More than an hour lag . Once again, Mark Karpeles and his team of hamsters suck immense camel balls!

Bitcoin Volume is growing exponentially by bits and bounds. Institutional customers getting interested in some real trading. New people pooring money into the ecosystem every week.

If you really know what this bold word means, you'll think they have done a pretty good job.

Not that I was around, but as far as I can gather it's not just a recent problem.

Nevertheless, there is a rapidly growing profit opportunity for people to DDoS MtGox when they want to buy in.

...And other such attacks. We better get used to them (for one, but diversifying in exchanges).

Mark Karpeles @MagicalTux

"MtGox dealing with its most serious DDoS since more than a year ago. Site is up but some parts are still down."

https://twitter.com/MagicalTux

Then he should stop trading, but he systematically refuses to do so. In fact, he claims DDOS every time there is a sell off sparking a huge lag.... The man is an imbecile.

It does certainly seem like a coordinated attack with so many things going down at once and the selloff of very large amounts. Someone is laughing at the panic somewhere..and laughing all the way to the bank.

I recommend Bitstamp. Seems to attract many of the European users.

+100, quick support, reliable and often same day SEPA, well designed website...and a constantly growing userbase and volume.

I must say that Bitstamp was also lagging for me, but not as bad as Mt.Gox.
